Indeed. Often see Sami sitting outside the French Caf? or eating at Si Mangia, where he is a regular. I think he still lives along that strip. I remember when he had Thistles (now Le Chardon) as I had a girlfriend who waitressed there for a while. Would often enjoy after hours drinks there. Very glad this place is finally getting sorted out. The bookies and the Laundromat next then.

Yeah, reminds of the intros to Waiting for the Man and also Sister Ray. But the connection I was thinking of is Wooden Shjips, I believe the guitarist is still in them and this is a side project. I'd forgotten about this track too.

Heard this for the first time today. Had me almost weeping by the end of it. How does Dylan do this? He's written so many great songs that have been unreleased for decades and when they finally are you're baffled as to why they weren't. This is up there with any of his great love songs. Just gorgeous.

England do not need a fooking David Batty. Playing Jones in midfield was a big mistake. He's a centre-back. Once Carrick slotted in there after Smalling's injury things looked much better and we looked more positive going forward. Terrific goal from Townsend, positive performances from Barkley, Rooney and Kane. Players who need to up there game if they want to stay in the squad, Delph, Walker, Jones, Gibbs and Walcott.

Interestingly we beat the German Under-21s 3-2 last night which bodes well for the Under-21 European Championship.

England have three further high-profile friendlies planned after tonight?s game against Italy. They take on France at home and Spain away in November and also Germany away next March. That's a pretty daunting line-up of friendlies and just what is needed considering the weakness of the teams in our qualifying group.

1. He was the best qualified for the job when he got it. 2. Err... we're playing Italy on Tuesday and nearer finals (assuming we qualify) we'll hopefully have some tough friendlies lined up too.
