  1. Good grief! I'm going to have to agree with Dulwich Fox. That has to be a first. Tandoori Nights was great when it first opened but the last few meals I've had in there over the past three or four years have been distinctly average if not distinctly diabolical. Call me old school but for general ambiance, pricing and consistently good food my preference would be The Mirash and I've always like The Surma too, though the Mirash takes first place for me. For takeaways or home delivery though it has to be Spice Republic. Consistently superb. Anyway... not another fecking "what's the best curry in ED thread!"
  2. A legend wherever he played. Well played Hearts. http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag237/jahlushhead/11069639_10203647149808465_8347820156693146814_n_zpseuevxjm1.jpg
  3. Just as naff as a Harvester.

That's another thread altogether. Anyway, I never use Tesco myself.
  5. I was barred from the EDT around 1985 but was let back in a week or two later once they realised how much the takings were down.
  6. I was unaware they still existed.

  8. Yeah, fair play to him, pretty much agree with that 100-per-cent.
  9. When I was a regular in the mid 70s it had three bars and a top notch restaurant and it was packed most days and nights of the week. In the summer the garden would be packed. There was also another bar at the rear of the pub to the garden. It didn't become a Harvester until well into the late 90s early 00s.
  10. They did. I'd often see Bob Mortimer in there who also used 'The Spanish' afterwards. Jenny ?clair was another regular, as well as Robbie Coltrane and Pete Richens and Peter Richardson of The Comic Strip fame.
  11. Chelsea epitomise everything I hate about the Premiership and here's another glowing reference to our wonderful local club and why they get my total support. http://www.thelondoneconomic.com/2015/03/10/non-league-club-puts-premier-league-shame/

  13. Another cracking read. Brought back some good memories. I first saw Vic Reeves comparing at The Greyhound in Sydenham. I think it was there that he first worked with Bob Mortimer too. Hard to believe that's nearly 30 years ago.
  14. It's the poncey blow-ins at the other end of the Lane who think it wouldn't work. The very same people who think The Mag/Patch is a bit of a trek. I live around the corner and I'd use it. It was a regular destination on a Friday night for me when I was a teenager living in Dulwich Village. It was a great pub then and could be again.

The Robin Thick/Pharrel whatsit is a bit shit though and very misogynistic and it does touch on male dominance and rape fantasy blah blah.. though we shouldn't take that lightly. Coz it's fecking horrible. And if you really want some decent misogynistic tunes you can't get much better than the Stones. Just one example here. Gawd bless 'em. Fecking tune this is. Cor, and just dig Brian Jones on them marimbas, baby.

The old Den was always a very intimidating place to go back in the day, especially if your skin wasn't white. And Chelsea, though I wouldn't want to tarnish all of their fans with the same brush, are an absolute disgrace.
  17. "The old Millwall spirit." Is that the hate and bile filled racist scum spirit that I remember from The Den in the old days then?
  18. He'd better not be playing when Dulwich Hamlet play them next. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-31799492
  19. Hmmm....all this talk of meat. I'm a gonna go out an get me a cow and eat that muthafucker
  20. The answer to that is - don't leave Real Madrid. It's a seriously different ball game over here and if you're not up to it you'll be found out.
  21. Jeremy Wrote: > Anyone who won't eat sushi, sashimi, ceviche, > oysters, rare meat, etc because of food poisoning > paranoia is barking mad IMO (except if you're > pregnant, maybe). I'm seriously allergic to oysters. I like 'em but they don't like me.
  22. So you don't gloat when Celtic beat Rangers, Mac?
  23. Scholes is a useless and incredibly bias columnist. Last week's defending of Johny Evans spitting incident with Cisse was unbelievable. Le Arse deserved their win last night and quite frankly I don't blame you for your moment of joy, PD. I did the same when we beat your lot recently. It's only natural. And if Angel Di Maria is worth 60 million quid I'm a Dutchman.
  24. What Steveo said. Don't give up on your dream.
  25. I couldn't care less.
