  1. Good article in Southwark news about the impact on businesses - it?s a real concern that independent businesses may go to the walL due to the council?s inability to engage or anticipate the results of their actions. They seem to be Utterly myopic where everyone eLse can spot the bloody obvious.
  2. And destroy a load of small businesses
  3. I?m surprised the residents in dulwich village are not contacting the council - if I had that traffic jam and associated increased levels of pollution- I?d be a bit cheesed off Also to add that apparently the businesses have had a distinct downturn in business
  4. It took me 25 minutes to get from the primary school to the whately road traffic lights today. I could actually smell the fumes - pity the cyclists having to weave around the jams plus the walkers on the pavements. I really cannot fathom where they think the cars are going to go. Public transport is not popular due to covid, but also these traffic jams make it ineffective. Alot of the vehicles are work type vans (yes lots of cars too) would love to know what the pollution readings are at the moment - I suspect these will be well and truly buried.
  5. seems a bit strange - who are the landladies going to get in there instead who are able to pay rent given current climate
  6. that's a real shame.
  7. On EE in east dulwich and no problems at all?
  8. -- moved topic --
  9. Apologies - when I posted earlier all the threads seemed locked - I can see that there are still 2 that are not.
  10. I know they were all rather similar but why have they all been locked? Clearly a cause for concern for lots of forumites- apologies if admin had posted something somewhere
  11. The congestion is basically caused but a lot of traffic having to do two sides of a triangle rather than straight up the obvious route. Also the lights have not been adjusted - for example at the dulwich village / east dulwich grove junction only 2-3 cars can turn right - and a lot of the jam in the village is cars wanting to turn right. If a filter were introduced that could smooth things?
  12. Glad to see there has been a rejig of the barricades to allow larger vehicle access
  13. I was assured by a councillor that the emergency services were the first people to be consulted. perhaps some wires have got crossed ? (I am being very diplomatic here)
  14. This was exactly my thoughts serena! I have been informed by a councillor that the emergency services were the first to be consulted and they had no issues with the proposals - perhaps they thought they would still have access? Who knows but this has been me ?beef? since sitting in a stationary south circular when 3 emergency vehicles were trying to get thru. Everyone pulled up on the pavements
  15. It?s not that cut and dried I think.
  16. Oh god.....
  17. Signed. Thanks for the list of emails
  18. Yes I Agree - I used to hate going to Wandsworth as the traffic was so bad. Round here we could easily move about. I am keen to know whether the emergency services were consulted. Imagine the journey an ambulance from kings now has to make to get to say Elsie road, or near callows on melbourne Grove. A massive loop in possibly stationary traffic. I wonder how long they are going to let this chaos ensue before some sort of review.
  19. I think the best way to evaluate the current situation would be to ask the bus drivers if they have noticed any significant changes (or not)
  20. A friend has been repeatedly trying to buy a permit online. AFter many unsuccessful attempts they phoned the council to be told that the system does not work with apple products (iphones or computers). Amazing how they would be using software that rules out a large portion of applications.
