djfitz Wrote: What are you on about? Seriously. What's your point? Are you seriously asking us not to generalise after you've had a good rant about Gypsies 'in general'? Or are you pretending to be ironical. My point is SERIOUSLY,that some people are living in denial of the fact that some groups or Communities DO have certain traits or characteristics. Its so obvious to me,blatantly and ridiculously so and yet some are frightened to recognise this it seems, which makes me wonder why that is and what they are afraid of.! Thats "denying" that there ARE certain traits,be they positive or negative, that CAN be found in certain Communities over and over again,ad infinitum,ad nauseum. When you have a gathering of say,100 BusinessMen and Women and they "all" or "virtually all" say the soame things about one person or "generalise" about a "group" then there's an excellent chance that they all, independently of each other,ARE NOT WRONG...and yet some people will do anything NOT to realise or accept this which is quite incredible. Yes we DO know that there are "exceptions" to every rule and yes there is "good and bad" in every Community but to hear or read what some people think they either fail to recognise this(which is virtually impossible if you live long enough) or their mindset refuses to accept this as it opens an unsavoury "can of worms" but frankly I find it insulting as it makes a mockery of what many people have experienced for, literally decades with certain Groups.

3 people have a meal and afterwards give the waiter 10 pound each, the waiter keeps 2 pounds and gives them 1 pound each back. so all three have paid ?10 less the ?1 refund each.Thats ?27 accounted for plus the ?2 that the Waiter kept 3x9=27, 27+2=29, where is the 1 pound left over?

The second patio is nearer to a square making more efficient use of the perimetre of the fencing. As you get nearer to a square the area gets bigger for any length of fencing and if you use 9 metre square patio you would use still use 36 metres of fence but you would have 81 square metres of tiles(9x9)... We should not generalise ABOUT ANYTHING.... . I.personally, take great offence at Millwall fans being tarred with the same "HOOLIGAN" brush! I first went to see them in 1961 and in the next 30 years until 1991 went to 78 different grounds To support them away and only missed 6 Home matches in those 30 years.Since 1991 I have been less frequently. I have never in my 54 years been in trouble with the Law and neither have any of my small circle of fellow Millwall fans who travel with us when playing Away. Millwall is a byword for hooliganism so why should me and my friends be tarred accordingly?? I WILL TELL YOU WHY!! From 1962/63 when Carlisle and Blackburn Fans had their heads smashed in at Millwall which I witnessed as a kid thru' the marauding 1960's thru' Plymouth ending Millwall's record 59 Home game unbeaten run and having their supporters coaches virtually destroyed in 1967 I have seen trouble after trouble at hundreds of Millwall matches over these 47 years and they would have been so nuch more if The Police did not do such an excellent job these days! Remember this was when "hooliganism" was hardly known at Football matches. So it continued thru' the 1970's when Millwall played at Stoke/Chelsea/West Ham/Carlisle/Middlesbrough/Bolton/Burnley.Brighton,in fact virtually everywhere:X In the 1980's it reached its nadir at Luton where the Police were viciously attacked and David Evans(Luton Chairman) got vilified for bringing in a "Home Fans Only" scheme after the 1985 debacle. Endless battles galore Home and Away week-in/week-out eventually decade-in/decade-out,but all I'm saying Guys is "there's good and bad everywhere".Indeed there was one incident at a Charlton in 1976(I think) when one fan got arrested so there's your proof "hooliganism can happen anywhere" so do NOT generalise PLEASE!

The only problem I've had in my road was when my next door neighbour almost had his motor-bike stolen(found out later that 2 bikes round the corner had been stolen)....These were professionals! They even turned up with a Ramp(!) to accompany the van to nick the bikes and the culprits were??? Answer:You won't need to phone a friend!B)

:))Sean:Personally I have had as little dealings as possible(virtually nil) and I'm being perfectly honest. So I'm not talking thru' my pocket.Indeed I can give you the names of around 150 individuald who did us over at Racing Stadiums by not repaying "credit" or conning us in a variety of ways(what naive idealistic fools we were back in the day!:))) and there's no excuse as we were 40 years old when we started!..and none of them were Gypsies but I would be lying if I did not say that "invariably" I have heard from a multitude of sources that when they "visit" for a while trouble(of various types) follows as surely as Night follows Day. Of course there are good and bad in all groups but "more often than not" if things go missing in Country areas then the Police's first port of call is usually any local Travellers Site and that would be based on "previous"...more later..

And what were 2 self-made > millionaires doing employing gypsies anyway, if > they are so well know to be trouble? You do not realise how polite I am being Sean so I'll be a bit straighter! Show me a 50-year-old experienced Business Person who has dealings with all Communities from time to time and find ONE in London who has a good "collective" word to say about these Guys(of course there are exceptions as in any rule!) The first "Guy" was/is a Director of the Football Club has just bought a ?7 Million place in Marbella and does no his Business and I can't repeat what he thinks after a LIFETIMES dealings with these Guys... The second one who has made a fortune in Car Rentals then owning 100 properties in North London and also Bookmaking in the halcyon days told me they are 3 things= "Wily, cunning and dishonest"...HIS words NOT mine and that is after a LIFETIMES Business knowledge. He also told me a scam they recently pulled on an unsuspecting naive young 28-year-old Guy to get ?6,000 out of him(buying a scrap metal van and havuing his own "pitch" guaranteed Guv'nor... My M8 told me only last week that they threatened to destroy the Betting Shops at Kempton Racecourse after an altercation over a bet that was,er(lol) ambiguously written down:))....any Bookmaker at Ascot/Epsom/Lingfield will tell you endless stories of "problems" with these Guys who claimed to back Winners in the "pre-printed ticket" days when it could NOT be conclusively proven whether they were right or not....invariably it was the same group of Guys at each Track... Anyone with a LIFETIME's Business experience in the REAL world will give you similar anecdotes(only the names and faces will be different....politically INcorrect but ruddy well true:)) I WILL say something for these Guys though "collectively" there are The BEST friends, the most loyal friends that you could wish to have...there are also the WORST of enemies NOT to be on the wrong side of as you will have the whole family against you and many of these Guys are rock hard, truly rock hard.

The stories that I could tell you ranging from Northants thru' East/West Sussex and particularly Surrey and Kent concerning certain Comminities:)...most pleasant being the "Community" who moved to Abbey Wood recently and the locals "Garden Gnomes" disappearred en masse within 2/3 days:) Remember speaking to a 65-year-old very successful Businessman once who views,I will NOT repeat here apart to say that he had the most begrudging "admiration" possible for Members of a certain "Community"...he said "I do not care if U R Richard Branson you will NOT beat these Guys!"...told a great story about a recent Premiership Football Club hiring these Guys for their Tarmacking!:)...They thought the bill should be 2,800(roughly) but it was 28,000 lol..they did not read the small print and got their measurements confused somehow but 28,000 had to be paid for their 2 days work! Another 63-year-old from North London told me exctly the same a few weeks ago(and like the first Guy he is a self-made Multi-Millionaire)...the giste of what he said was "give these Guys the widest of births"...another 47-year-old told me last week about all the "scams" from these Guys at Epsom Derby Meetings in years gone by(stopped now by printing details of any bet on tickets which is a recent innovation)

I'll just answer one request from a regular reader and contributor: Dear TLS: OK I am trying to figure out home much cubic litres my intercooler and intercooler piping are, I have the length of ic piping, the size of the tubing, I just need the equation to figure it out. I also have the measurements of the core and such of the IC, that I can figure out pretty easy just have to convert that from sq inches to litres.? Can you help please? TLS Says: Cylinder volume = 3.1416 * (Radius^2) * Length .... Over to much more important and pressing matters...how will said waitress serve me,exactly Hona?:)

Told a recent survey found that 75% of sickies occur on a Monday or Friday as opposed to the 40% that it should be. Funny Dat. Having been a self-confessed mug and hardly taken a sickie in my first 15 years at work,I made sure I got my 8/10 days in per annum to supplement my meagre 6 weeks hols. towards the end:)
