Tony Blair sorted out the 300-year-old Irish local difficulty all on his ownsome so now in his current role I have EVERY confidence that this problem will soon be solved by Tony, "In Tony We Trust"... -
KalamityKel Wrote: Tell me Tone did you go to a local dentist? If so I'd say such work may sadly have been unnecessary (obviously I'm qualified to comment on such things> :-|) I have a purpose in life - I think... do I? :-S Yes! "Local" to you...the excellent Dentist in Peckham where I have been going for 44 years>:D< )Hi! to Paula/Asher/Nadine and Ann=Marie if any of you are reading this)... Trust me the work was necessary! I have a full smile now and the headache has gone (without the Paracetamol) but my mouth feels weird and I'm counting down the hours to 1/00PM:)) These are going to be "social teeth" I reckon!B)

Do we try and justify our existance and reason for living by making ourselves believe we have a higher purpose in life other than to have fun? If we don't have a purpose then do you find it hard to justify why we are alive . So do you believe that you have a purpose in life?

Nero Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Just stride out and look purposeful. Don't > acknowledge them, either. It's the law that they > have to stop. Nero, how are you still alive? Seriously. You will soon turn from "Nero" to "Zero" if you continue with that belief.:( Like the bit about "Don't wave cheerily or acknowledge them as they stop"... What an absolutely MARVELLOUS attitude! So VERY London 2009! p.s I simply MUST remember that when I visit my Dentist soon as "by law" he HAS to remove my teeth as I have paid him etc..I MUST remember NOT to acknowledge or Thank him afterwards! This is EXACTLY the attitude that makes one swell with pride about living in/near our great Capital....no wonder my best M8(from London) is buying a place next to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls at the moment to rediscover "civility" and "good manners" his words which I agree 100% with:)

Good Morning on this fine Wet Winters Monday Kelstar:) Why are staring into space My Love? -
Huguenot Wrote: TLS was talking about. A taxi driver called his mate a Paki in 1971, and....? Erm.... WTF? Well it is rather early on a wet, winter monday morning so allow me to elaborate. Rahman accepted the fact that in 1971(I did state it was 1971 and there WAS some significance to the year where TV Series like "Mind Your Language and "Love Thy Neighbour" were on and indeed soon after in Fawlty Towers the bar scene between "Basil" and "The Major" in "The Germans" episode tells you all you need to know about English values and attitudes then towards "Minorities".He laughed it off as the ignorance it was and accepted that The English/British WERE blatantly and visibly and unsubtlety racist back then and got on with his happy life. Just in case anyone get on their high horse(heaven forbid!) and gets "offended on his behalf a la 2009:-$) NO-ONE is suggesting that this was right or in order in any way but it WAS the way it wasin many areas(probably all)in England. Rahman,in return, would mock the English and call them all manner of names and take the piss out of their ways and mannerisms in return, and was philosphical about the whole thing. In the words of Anthony Blair "He wasn't bovverred". He used to grab me and imply "these idiots but what can you do??" and used that example of the Cab Driver to illustrate his point. He may have even invented said Cabbie but he was saying that after enjoying his return to his Homeland he noted the immediate contrast, even on arrival at Heathrow Airport(!) when he came back and was very much in the monirity in Racist England again. Hope that clears that up(probably not):-$ Have A Good Day!
