  1. Personally I'd love to move from ED to Nunhead ,seems quieter ,less crowded ,more spacious and such great shops . good luck !
  2. Maybe some advice here ? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/the_staffroom
  3. My son had a little potty with back attached ,bit like a chair that he used to sit on . I wonder if that might be a half way measure ? It would be easier for him to have his feet on the ground ( assuming he's not got a foot rest on your current WC .and less of a splash and all that . Obviously wouldn't help while at school but....maybe in the evening ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/230993136221?clk_rvr_id=545855120471&mt_id=635&crlp=1_262531&fitem=230993136221&linkin_id=8070675&kw=%7Bquery%7D&crdt=0&sortbid=12 I do feel for you .
  4. aah but I imagine thet we're hoping that by 4.5 there might be a little playing with toys with limited adult interaction .. any science type stuff here http://www.sciencemuseumshop.co.uk/ / science/horrible histories cartoon stuff ?
  5. My son was very much like those described and I sympathise . yes remote control areoplanes /helicopters exist but they are really challenging to use . Dont be fooled by instore demos . Way too complicated for little ones . Maybe a remote control car for the park - but again these can be complicated and frustrating for little ones . Sorry not to offer more help .
  6. ed thank you . Do you happen to have the key to the different colours used for buildings on the map ?
  7. I've always had the most helpful service imaginable at Roullier white . even to helping me decide on a gift for a truly hard to buy for friend .
  8. ok ,must be related to the dubious hygiene habits of the other occupant - young male - of the room :)
  9. Umm - but don't they give off rather a strange smell ?
  10. I think if you live in a house on Dulwich estate land - round Court Lane etc - you have to get the estate's permission/approval . But I imagine if you did live there ,you'd know that !
  11. "Just had a knock from my neighbours to tell me that they are building a conservatory in their garden and that this would involve a wall being built on the boundary for which they would require access to my property. They said that they have planning permission, but didn't have any plans that they could show me. I am quite worried about what they have planned especially since they are quite big party people... Would the plans be public anywhere I am in Southwark? Any advice much appreciated." doesn't sound like a neighbour dispute to me . More like someone wanting to know ( and worrying because they don't ) about what the plans for a building next door are .
  12. Maybe by reading the forum the neighbour could pick up tips on how to approach this type of building work and develop good relationships with affected parties ?
  13. Agree is amazingly high handed of neighbour . I imagine it could have occurred to them to approach the OP with offers of friendly chats ,wine . Plans even . Wonder why they didn't ?
  14. http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1408530
  15. Expensive Christmas card project ?
  16. Train ?
  17. I don't think anyone was suggesting the OP was stupid . We had a pushchair stolen from our car as well ,msny years ago :). I think they are particularly attractive as they can be sold so easily for a few pounds . And I'm afraid that I also think that thieves take note if they happen to see a pushchair being left in a car . It's a bugger ,and all you can do ,as said ,is take a calculated risk .But I suppose people should be aware that it is a risk . Sad but true .
  18. Crikey TE44 ,I rarely come across someone ( like me ), still bitter about Pimlico and Westminster's lies . Remember the ones about the expansion joint in the old building being a giant crack ? And how scaffolding was the only thing stopping the building from falling down .And getting the building delisted ? And Steve Farnsworth sending someone over to collect a ( non existent as it happened ) foundation plaque for his leaving Westminster party ? And his " this is not a rolling ballot ,you can't just vote for what you want " ? Take the politics out of education .Not a chance .
  19. They look lovely lulu ,and not that expensive ? Though I'm not exactly an expert !
  20. Are you popping down there Ladygooner to clean up then ?
  21. Mmm ,dairy seems more likely to me so I think you're memory is probably fine . See what you mean about "deco" tiles . http://www.bluetitlondon.com/
  22. ed history ,thanks for that .I was sure it must be . it has to have been covered up surely to have survived . And ,sorry to bore on ....but do you know what kind of shop it would have been originally ? A butchers ?
  23. I did ask them .They were very friendly .But they didn't know . :)
  24. Do you think the interior is orginal John K ? If you've seen it of course .
