  1. Has the bicycle now been recovered? Have there been any arrests?
  2. I wonder if the perp was also involved in this theft on Friday: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?31,1842890. They share the same 'replacement' meme. I assume the "well used" one that was left was also of lower quality. You could also report the stolen one at https://stolen-bikes.co.uk/stolen-bikes/. There's also a Check That Bike section, in which you could check the frame number of the one that was left if that hasn't already been done.
  3. They're probably all gearing up for the sesquibillion celebrations on Friday.

  5. > No it's not on our website . As no one knows the password . I think if you ask Fasthosts nicely they'll be happy to reset it for you, assuming you want to keep it on. Your domain is going to need renewing soon anyway.
  6. Jules & Boo > Cash in hand is generally not declared which is actually fraud. Fraud?
  7. The cheapos are 'Advance' tickets - a limited number available, at varying prices, on just a few trains each day, and you do have to use that train. The Oxford ones can get as low as ?5.40 for a single.

  9. Elephant Removals Posted by Andrewsharpes 19 October, 2014 03:50 Hello, Sharing my experience with Elephant Removals, I was told by friends and work colleague to try this company as I was not quiet sure where can I find a reliable company. Since I was recommended I knew I was in good hands. They packed and moved my entire content from one end of London to another. I was well pleased with the guys in the office and on field. Brilliant service, good price and most definite friendly. Now I am a new resident in ED.

Details are along with the other recreational stuff in the the What's On section: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?6,1837315. ====== Just noticed the date disparity. It's definitely Wed.5th; as confirmed by their web page: Dates (all Wednesdays) Sainsbury's - Dog Kennel Hill 5 July 2 August 6 September http://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/recycling/recycling-centres/mobile-recycling-centre Peckham Square 15 July 16 August 20 September
  13. I agree with Hertburs on both points. The BaE 146 (later, Avro RJ100) suggestions seem very plausible. Some google searching for BAe146 flaps sounds shows that it's long been a talked-about phenomenon. One example is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNZ92B7QsOA. A sound snippet from it is attached. I think it may be just the external manifestation of the maybe even scarier sound within the plane when the flap movement is actuated.
  14. Are you satisfied that it affects all data paths/ Are, for example, this forum and http://www.bbc.co.uk equally affected. What does http://www.speedtest.net/ say about your speeds? Are you on ADSL? I have noticed on occasion that, on first booting my modem, it syncs to the exchange at 2 Mb/s rather than the expected 9 Mb/s or so. If that happens I simply restart it, which usually resolves it.
  15. And there's this mystery cat recently appeared in your household ...?
  16. London City Airport is very unlikely: their permitted operating hours end at 22:30. https://www.londoncityairport.com/aboutandcorporate/page/noiseandtrackkeepingsystem https://www.acl-uk.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/LCY-S17-Capacity-Declaration.pdf. I guess a Heathrow private or cargo flight is the most likely candidate. Or an alien craft.
  17. You can rely on 0800 and 0808 numbers being free. That was extended to mobiles a couple of years ago. https://www.gov.uk/call-charges

The regulations give them deemed consent for a limited period, just like standard estate agent signs. Classs 3(D). 20. Can you record this prodigy for us?
  21. Me too. There's plenty of guidance on the net on how to do it. Pound shops also have sets of small screwdrivers if you need one to to remove screws from the case or the cell mounting. You can also get very cheap watch back remover tools via aliexpress. I only needed one for a more expensive waterproof watch. In most cases a firm penknife blade or similar was enough. Some watches may have or recommend silver oxide cells (type name begins with an 'S'). These are a little bit more expensive. Keeping the cells in the fridge helps their shelf life.
  22. "What if the ticket office is closed, or the station does not have a ticket office and the automatic self-service machines are out of order? At most locations there is more than one self-service ticket machine and these are regularly maintained so it would be unusual for there to be no self-service ticket machines available for you to use. At stations where there is only one self-service machine there is usually a further machine called a Permit to Travel. This is normally located near the station entrance/exit or beside other self-service machines. You should insert the maximum number of coins you have with you in the Permit to Travel machine, up to the value of your journey. Press the button and you will be issued with a permit to travel. This permit must be exchanged for a valid ticket at your first opportunity, be that on the train or at your destination and in any case within two hours. You will be given credit for the amount you paid for the permit when you exchange it for a valid ticket. If the ticket office is closed or not available and self service ticket machines or the Permit to Travel machines are not working then you will not be charged a Penalty Fare." - Southern Penalty Fares leaflet http://www.southernrailway.com/download/17308.2/penalty-fare-leaflet-december-2011/ (284kB).
