  1. Hi Sue, I know it's not the same body, but the Legal Ombudsman have a guide for compensation and the level of inconvenience. It may be worth seeing if the FO do as well? I'll see if I can find the one I'm referring to and will same end you the link. Are there solicitors specialising in this you could call and get some advice? Or the Citizens Advice Bureau?
  2. BREAKING NEWS - News Over Sensationalises News. or is it Fake News?
  3. I found a pack of 10 for ?3.99 but outside London - i can get some if anyone wants the same, for cheaper
  4. hahah...my best friend does that; "bye darling, love you, speak soon, byee....byee....mwah!" for about five minutes :-)
  5. The Docklands Cablecar that doesn't go anywhere useful... Apparently there's a car park and mini Tesco on the north side of the river you can go to. Maybe it is Boris personal involvement in it that allows it to continue without scrutiny. He does have a record....
  6. That was during the lockdown. Fare evasion is a massive problem, expect to see freeloaders chased now.
  7. 2016/17 accounts are out of date. TFL had a business plan which would have delivered a surplus in 2022/23. They have no control over the mayoral pledge to freeze fares but have delivered with this challenge and the challenge of removal of government grant. Fares will now rise and those using cars instead of public transport will pay extra. Capital investment will continue, as it should and Crossrail, well...how the government haven't pounced on that epic failure instead is beyond me.
  8. That's not how it works. People travelling in London pay fares which partly fund TFL
  9. Brockwell lido is open for lane swimming. Get a wetsuit if you can't manage the cold. It's lovely!
  10. The mayor pledged a fared freeze and this has been overturned by the government. The government removed the funding it previously have to TFL. That means our transport system is funded solely by fares and other revenue (advertising, rent, property) and is the only self-funded transport system. The mayor has been fighting the government to reintroduce the transport grant. Despite this, TFL were on track to run a surplus AND deliver key projects. It now looks like the mayor is screwing London but it's actually the government.
  11. how often does this happen?
  12. I lost my kid on the banana bikes in Dulwich Park - we were going round the pond then moved out to the outer circuit. Took seconds to lose them. Funny now, scary then. I don't think she even noticed, was having too much fun. Kids of course don't notice you're not there until they realise you're not there, which could be much later. Ride close behind them, stop frequently enough so they understand the next part of the journey and make sure they can hear you/ know to respond to you.
  13. yes, it makes London less attractive if we don't need to commute
  14. You don't have to spend your money in these places. What you have described is obscene, but if people go along with it, it will become the new normal, as I can't see a price drop when they have made any amount of profit
  15. man in prison. motorbike. barbed wire.
  16. Yes, it will. It's doing very well. If we had a McDonalds that would also do very well.
  17. what makes you say that? I know we have to be careful of the very poor standards of US food and how that might impact us, but am not aware of any drop in standards since Brexit. In fact interested in post Brexit as it has been silent for a while. Is the UK in a better position (only) in that we don't have to bail out other EU countries post COVID? It was such a hot topic and it's almost as if it's been forgotten.
  18. I dont' know about chicken boxes being the main litter source - you just have to look in the park at the Meat Liqor and Franco Manca rubbish
  19. It appears we all secretly like chicken shop chicken more than anything else. Peckham is saturated and now it's coming to east Dulwich :-)
  20. The chicken shops survive (thrive, even) because people like to buy and eat greasy fried cheap factory farmed chicken. Just saying.
  21. they have taken their phone numbers off the website and are not allowing any calls. I've had to book an engineer. Now, it's back up but can't cancel the engineer - great business model. He'll come out for nothing.
  22. Is anyone else having issues?
  23. We steamed the carpets and they are all gone
  24. Does this mean all the grumpy old sods on here (you know who they are), are actually imposters set out to cause offense? Blindingly briilaint. I was worried they were real. More fool me!
