  1. Thanks - that's really kind of you Ilona. I can get some pate from the shop and will try hiding them in different food. I have seen the Easy Pill and it's good to know they are effective!
  2. thanks, I'm going to the vet later - also like the idea of the straw :-)
  3. I'm struggling to gets meds in my dog - does anyone have a pill gun, or know where I can get one asap? Amazon Prime can't deliver before Monday
  4. it's because of the different strains. A vaccine would have to cover all of them, whereas your own immunity would only cover the strain you've had. Glad you;re feeling better
  5. no, it's about deterrent not increasing fares revenue
  6. People are really not very bright are they, if they're going out just to cruise the buses now they are free. The buses are running so key workers can get to work - and people who have to travel are able to. Travelling to work is one of the highest risk of catching the virus. I think TfL have more important things to think about than fares at the moment. Having said that, maybe they should increase the fares for all travel, unless you can prove you need to take your journey.
  7. That, exactly Binkylilyput. Thanks for posting the link. Don't let your fear of our teens make you forget they are extremely vulnerable. They are too poor to move out if they need to be safe and have no control over their home environment. If they were happy and safe at home, you can bet your bottom dollar that that is where they would be.
  8. I know, I saw adults in the park too. Why are people just NOT getting the message?
  9. Take 1 minute to report your health daily, even if you're well. Help slow the outbreak Join millions of people helping to fight COVID-19 Help scientists identify high risk areas in the UK There's an app to download. They are tracking the cases and also need to know if people are healthy, so it' not just if you are showing symptoms. https://covid.joinzoe.com/ We received a message saying what useful data they are getting.
  10. Pessimism and imagined defeat will pre-determine the end result. If you give up before you start, you won't get anywhere. If you really want change, you have to do something about it. You may knock people banging their saucepan lids, but you have under estimate people.
  11. It would be political suicide for any government to berate or abuse the NHS after this. The government's behaviour has angered people for long enough but I think now there would be riots if they carried on as they have before.
  12. I heard my neighbour laughing in her garden this morning. I was livid. Woke me up. Will have to have a word with her later. Or maybe just a moan but not to her face. #Honestly# Music in the afternoon? For a couple of hours?
  13. or there was the woman outside the vet complaining it was cold and "why are they making me wait out here"? I felt like telling her, but some people just drain your energy.
  14. There are a number of adults who are flouting the lockdown rules. It's not just teenagers - I am also frustrated by the constant complaining about this age group. Adults have more control over where they live, how they live, who they live with - they are more worthy of your criticism. Parks should not HAVE to be closed. As a community, this is something we have brought on ourselves. It certainly is NOT just due to teenagers.
  15. please use local shops where you can, instead of the big supermarkets. you'll be actively supporting their continuation once we're clear of the isolation.
  16. I don't agree If you don't want to go then don't, but don't put kids/ dogs at risk by leaving gates open. There are plenty of places you can go without touching gates. Dulwich Park is very popular.
  17. Some parks cannot be locked, Peckham Rye being one, Clapham Common...
  18. This is so important and it's not covered enough. I am really worried about people (women, men or children/ young adults) who are stuck at home with someone who is abusive. This article raises the concerns and how the risks are heightened. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/coronavirus-isolation-domestic-abuse-help-charities-a9407716.html If you are in this situation there is a help line. Anyone who requires help or support can contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline which is open 24/7 365 days per year on 0808 2000 247 or via their website [www.nationaldahelpline.org.uk] Hopefully other people here can add further advice /resources And if you are worried about someone, please just keep checking on them and talking to them

  20. The students (and teachers!) all deserve be given more certainty that this. Of course, they all like the idea of not having to do the exams, but that is superficial. They need to know how they are doing and to have certainty over their college / Uni applications / other plans. It has to be objective grading but my daughter was in hospital when the last exams were done so would get a low grade if they used the last results, but has been doing much better since - so is expected to get higher grade in the summer I feel for the schools and teachers, whc have to be fair as futures and choices are at stake.

Could that work? I'm also worried about people who don't have anything to eat. I think it's a good idea. "Items Wanted" This may all get back on track soon - or it could go on for months. They uncertainty is making people stockpile even more, so the same people are likely to be going back again and again. lameduck - is there anything you need?
  22. I don't think you can cover either state/ independent as having a blanket standard approach to mental health. You should check each school and see if you think it is a fit for your child and then apply accordingly. you can see what they do in the school to promote mental health and which other organisations / schemes they work with. I would seriously check the school's stance on bullying before looking at academic pressure - children thrive differently under pressure anyway, but bullying is a totally different beast. I chose a supposedly fab school for my daughter, who was subsequently bullied. I raised it with the school, they ignore me and it escalated to violence toward her. She retaliated and she was moved. Now doing brilliantly.
  23. I've emailed the managing agent and sent photos and listed missing items. Nice though that it blew away but, no.
  24. hi KK there is no tag :-(
