  1. I caught a film, "Definitely, Maybe" earlier this week and it was a perfect, easy-to-watch movie. Nothing mind blowing, nothing too taxing but enjoyably watchable. Went to be with a smile on my face. Others I would put on my favourite feel-good Film list: Coyote Ugly Clueless A Good Year The Wedding Singer
  2. This will be an occasion rare as both CitEd and MrsCitEd will be there.
  3. I love the way that some have justified getting tattoos by claiming that they have personal meaning. Wouldn't the same image in a book or in a picture on the wall would have the same meaning? I really like some tattoos, but pretty much detest others. Often it correlates with the atractiveness of the person thus tattooed.
  4. Is a baseball cap a hat? Lots of them on Lordship Lane.
  5. My comfortable old kitchen has been ripped out and in its place theres a a swanky new one with all mod cons. It's supposed to make things easier to use but I've just burnt the toast and I can't find the blessed marmite. Tin-opener, forget it. Will I get used to it?
  6. We've been going to the Bridge lately, one main pool, which I've not been in, and a toddler/baby pool. Car park. Nice little round trip with a poss stop at the cafe at Savacentre.
  7. I don't know if this helps but I am sitting on the chair.
  8. Scuse me sir, but I've been drawing the dole...
  9. Muley, didn't you know that Moos dropped an e when she was younger.
  10. before babies we used to buy a couple of rolls of kitchen towel every fortnight - since they came along we are on two six packs per week. Get used to it.
  11. In that case its...find a clean corner!
  12. Oh Fuschia, you did start this thread - I've just posted on that other thread. I was at the horniman playground when my little one dropped some pumpkin seeds from the packet he was eating. He crouched down and started picking them up and eating them from the floor. Well-meaning lady next to me pointed it out - then told me about the 3 second rule. I smiled, nodded and lifted my little one away. 3 seconds? My rule is "if you dropped it and still want it - go ahead!"
  13. Licking a tissue to wipe a dirty face - isn't that what you're supposed to do? How about, lick a tissue to wipe dirty face, then turn it over to wipe dirty hands.
  14. Big up for the EDF team, the de-cluttered room looks crisp and clean. Do you think they'll do my house when they've got a mo'?
  15. And not a perm in sight. Unless anyone knows different!
  16. Hmmm, well if you put it that way, Moos, I think I'll find a better way to spend a penny.
  17. Hey JayBee baby, could I possibly buy just a single hundreds and thousands?
  18. Yep, sorry Fuschia, but having said I'd be there I actually would be unable to make it even if the weather was brighter. Next weekn the kids are away at their grandparents. Maybe week after.
  19. I got to catch the entralling "United 93" the other evening. Based to the hi-jackings of 9/11 it is a sensational, captivating movie, handling it's subject matter with amazing guile and maintaining a growing level of tension throughout. Psychologically intelligent. Recommended.
  20. Jah is right about the distinction between vocalists and singers..hence the title of the thread. As it is, I think both can send a shiver down your spine. With vocalists I guess it's partially down to whatever heartfelt lyrics they are singing, whereas great singers can melt your heart singing the most sugary platitudes. I don't know if anyone else saw Barry Manilow doing his "masterclass" on The X-Factor a couple of years back. Sure the guy is a legendary showman with a cakeshop coiffure and a face of comical magnetude but you should have seen his face when Leona Lewis sang for him. He did well not to buckle in the knowledge that he'd just met a singer far better than he.
  21. MrsCitEd will be along MP to this, she'll see you lot at the restaurant.
  22. We should be around for this, but I'll let you know closer to the day.
  23. Nice Cap'n, Seems like another two months of Elbow inspired melancholia for me..... er, thanks
  24. Or even, "Quids and Mick Mac sittiing in a tree, G-A-M-B-O-L-I-N-G" Mick, if you've noticed a pattern to my posting then you're a better man than I. Any chance you could life-coach my chaotic existence on the cheap?
  25. percentage chance he'll be back on here soon, Mick - 100!
