  1. I'll have my two little boys, 4 yrs and 20 months, for much of the Summer so would love to hook up in the park from time to time - as long as there's no objections to a dad being around. Peckham Rye on a Wednesday would be ideal for me.

If someone starts a few threads about car use or parking Sean, you still might get there.
  3. top irony EDmummy, or a motherhood moment? Moos lives in Peckham!
  4. What, everything? I suggest you read the Forum, every page of every thread. By the time you've finished you'll know all you ever needed; and house prices might have gone up....
  5. So we've had the French influx and now seemingly the Italian one; a new restaurant on Melbourne, the new cafe/deli opposite the Plough, Viva Europa, and pissoire off UKIP. So welcome to the Forum, Gabriele.
  6. Kid, I think i know the old lady you're referring too - seems to fit description. She lived on my street, up past the plough, until earlier this year when, after a few episodes of night-time wandering in her bedclothes she was taken into a home. Didn't know the full details. I always used to chat with her when I saw her in the street - and she'd often be talking about her trips down to Lordship Lane. Lovely old lady.
  7. And the Clock House, don't forget to tell ssturges about the Clock House.
  8. Good luck to all competitors, onlookers, groupies and hangers on. Oh, and the best wishes to all the first aiders; if only you knew.
  9. Maybe a sign of watching a little too much TV, but my 3 year old nephew came out with a classic when he'd been given some instructions by his mum, plainly din't understand so turned round and said "I'm so confused dot com"
  10. I think we are jumping in rather quickly without giving the new format a chance. We've only had one session - not exactly anything to go by. Let's see how it goes in July before making any judgement. Hal - what an odd comment. For a start, the afternoon drinks session at the Herne was definitely not a day out with the kids. Most people there did not have kids. Second, do you ask all your friends to get CRB checked before they meet your kids or can you use your own judgement?
  11. Depends what you mean by best: best for you individually or best for community or society? A bunch of selfish individuals might think that it is "best" to be cynical so that no one "pulls the wool over their eyes", or "gets one over on them". I would far sooner live in a society of trusting souls who prefer to be neighbourly and kind.
  12. I certainly to bring the CitED family along to this. Loved meeting up with others at the Herne yesterday. Though I would like the idea, not sure if the Friday night/Saturday afternnon session would work. I get the impression that many people who met on Sat afternoon didn't stay on til the evening.
  13. Marmora Man, yes. CF Just last week I saw a woman drop her purse as she got off the bus at Dulwich Library. Guess what I did with it? I gave it back. As far as I can tell, practically everyone I know would do the same. I think you would too.
  14. The idea is perfect and am glad that it was put forward. We enjoyed ourselves and it was lovely to meet some other forumite parents, (nice to meet you pickle and sanitygirl and your little ones) as well as catching up with regulars. Only sorry I couldn't stay longer. I thought the weather was fine and my two were in t-shirts and loved running around the playground. That said others were in coats and scarves and shivering with hot toddies and cups of coffee - note to self, better check out my thyroids. Hope everyone has a good time tonight. I won't be there alas.
  15. Ah, fairweather forumites don't go for a drink in a pub if it's raining. Lucky it's not Manchester. We should be there for about 3.30
  16. When they took the sign down you can just make out a previous sign. It reads "Thorntons".
  17. And *Rita* and *Sue* too - did I miss them?
  18. happy birthday Mockers. For yesterday!
  19. Have to add my best wishes to you Spark. And a mention for your generous and empathetic boss. Well done to them.
  20. horns on cars so that you can say hi to your mates. Beep, beep.
  21. I think the idea is that Plough Electrics will operate alongside the grocers store in the same unit. Graet news about the deli & tea rooms. We need something up this end.
  22. ???? if the BB you refer to is Belenden Belle, than I'm pretty sure she doesn't have kids - unless you're referring to her man.
  23. 100 might be a three figure number but the act of typing it is also a tiny little thing that causes ????'s completely irrational and unencumbered joy.
  24. I used to love going to Redgwells for a coffee. It was in one of the units occupied by Green and Blue.
  25. Tickled me, for being on the BBC. Daily Mash surely? Marmite Jesus
