  1. coopercat has made 91 posts on the forum but has not yet replied to his/her own thread. How frustrating is that? Pray, what kind of lowlife would do such a thing?
  2. Sorry to say that I am not a fan of this idea. Its a rather large change to the format, effecting a third of the drinks sessions in the year. I'm going to find it hard to make it to these sessions as I'll generally be looking after my two little ones. Having four Saturday sessions in succession means I could miss the whole summer of drinks. Couldn't we restrict the Saturday sessions to just two of the summer sessions? Please.
  3. I'll trump that and say they are a total C You Next Tuesday.
  4. I actually liked my trip to the Millenium Exhibition. Took my mum and dad. Saw the brilliant "squatting figure" by Ron Meuck and David Mach's wonderful mural on British life and of course, the Dome itself (and who, in all honesty, was not impressed by it?). And then saw the, not-exactly-to-my-taste, musical dance performance thingy which was rather akin to shows in the West End. And all for ?20.
  5. Annoying then, but certainly not boring....
  6. Can I just get this straight: Ghurkas have always been able to settle in the UK after doing their stint for the British Army and now vicious, evil, xenophobe GB has put a stop to that and will not let any of them in. Ever.
  7. Brendan, did you manage to get out there today? I'm getting worried about those little saplings.
  8. Perhaps if Dukesdenver goes in more frequently to purchase full-price tomes from Chener the place will be able to un-mank itself.
  9. Quote "Our old family GP used to say boys should be buried at 8 and dug up again at 18" isn't that just Boarding school?
  10. And drills, *Bob*, they are distinctly boring.
  11. We are not boring, no way. We find everything interesting, like walking, music, singing, the motion of cars, the colours of fish. We believe that animals can talk and stare in wonder at the sky. We scrub around in the mud and don't care if it gets on our clothes. We make a mess and don't get arsey if it isn't cleared up. We giggle about burbing and poo. Zebedee, aged 4.

Funny though, we yearn for the sun, then immediatley bedeck ourselves with dark glasses to return to February haze.
  13. I doubt there are many, but it's now on the statute that they must. Rightly so.

Any smiley wearing sunglasses and goatee combo has to be a complete gonk
  15. Chener's shop sign is so ancient it is listed by English heritage.
  16. C'mon, this development is an expedient fudge just like many other things in politics. In order to get all that important PSHE info to the majority of children it was decided to make that concession to Christian groups. Better to get that message accross to most kids than to take on the political timebomb that is the issue of religious schools.

If ever I put on a pair of sunglasses, there is this voice in my head repeating the mantra "I'm wearing shades, I'm wearing shades" When I take them off, I squint but the voice stops.
  19. They brought us the musical dystopia that was Abba.
  20. Nice one, Keef - congratulations to the two of you. C
  21. Gosh, he's got a job mining large spirits. In this econiomic climate?
  22. I've seen David play cricket....he has a extraordinarily-gsoh
  23. Just to support what so many others have said; what a great thread. Full marks to you, Station Master.
  24. Well done David, glad to hear it. Didn't know McDonalds were still recruiting...
  25. That sounds like a really unpleasant experience, Rob - sorry to hear about it.
