  1. and 5/10 for you ;-) No I thought England were poor - Wales haven't exactly been ripping up trees last 12 months but from what I saw in 2nd half it looked to me the decisive moment was the incorrect call on the knock-on when it actually went forward off his chest and should have been a try for Wales.
  2. England have to play the Blues away - I reckon they'll struggle to even beat Italy, and Ireland too strong not to win at Twickenham (which Wales should have done yesterday from what I saw)
  3. Was unable to catch the first half but from what I saw Wales were very impressive and Hook's jinking try was quite simply superb. Hopefully Wales can go on and beat the other nations to set them up for their summer tour of New Zealand.
  4. Liked the no nonsense approach from Capello on Terry questions today Great result for Liverpool yesterday, the players really fired themselves up for this one. Thought the Reds looked more comfortable with 10 men and just shows you don't need 2 holding midfielders and as a result Lucas had something to do and showed his quality.
  5. Big result for Newcastle tonight thumping Cardiff 5-1... oh how the Geordies must wish they'd let Chris Hughton carry on last season rather than bringing in that circus act from the sofa Shearer and Dowie. W/e predictions: Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea all to score 4 goals.
  6. What odds the dogs in the press will soon cut loose on Rio
  7. Now that is a thought Barcelona to win European Cup at the Bernabau against Madrid!
  8. Hang on Quids are you suggesting it was Celtic fans petrol bombed his car just because he plays for Rangers? I'd say it is more likely a racially motivated attack regardless of any association with Rangers or Celtic.
  9. What financial state will Spurs be in when Harry Redknapp eventually departs, will they go down the same path of meltdown that Pompey are now doing and what West Ham did when they had to flog the family silver?
  10. I agree... but I await the Mick Mac verdict ;-)
  11. Yes Liverpool are his team - although many Irish also support Celtic as a second team due to it's association with the Irish catholic community, hence why you always see Irish flag/scarves at Parkhead rather than Scottish colours.
  12. United did impress - but the ease at which they tore Arsenal apart on the counter attack is what you usually associate with relegation fodder. I reckon if Arsenal are not careful they'll soon be pulled into this dog fight for 4th spot. Next Sunday, Chelsea with Drogba back, will run through Arsenal like a hot knife through butter.
  13. England aren't going to be successful at World Cup because they play good football - it will be how they respond in the trenches and that is where it is vital to have a leader when their backs are up against the wall. Yes Terry is a scumbag and not fit for office - but this isn't Cricket this is Football and I believe England fans would prefer reaching a Final with him wearing the armband than getting knocked out of QF with a Lampard, Barry or Gerrard as skipper.
  14. Mixed day for Terry as he was also booked from going in from behind. Question, should the media have held back their JT story til after the World Cup? - have the scum at the NOTW by trying to break the Terry story further damaged England's chances at the World Cup (putting outside what apparently was already known in the dressing room).
  15. Fergie would have always put a strong team out regardless of FA Cup results. Fergie is not Wenger; local rivalries rankle - remember how Fergie ranted last season over some trivial hand gesture by Benitez. This was also the reason he played a strong team (Rooney, Berbatov, Giggs, Valencia et al) against Leeds when in previous years against similar FA Cup opponents it has almost been a youth team.
  16. Rio Ferdinand 4 match ban... hmm... but more to the point what are the FA going to do about the yob culture at Old Trafford. Chucking coins and bottles at a player whilst trying to take a corner is no joke. United have come out with the usual statements about life bans but it seems there is trouble with United supporters all too often. I believe that is the 3rd time this month alone they have brought violence to a football ground (following on from their visits to St Andrews and Eastlands).
  17. mockney piers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Ha ha. Whoops. Learn something new etc. > There goes his international career!! ;-P Ho ho ho.. But Toshack has put together a young Welsh international team which has included likes of Bale, Collison, Ramsey for a few years now and they try to play football you right way. With Cardiff and Swansea finally coming out of the wilderness the good times may soon be back. Hurts me to say this but how Fergie has squeezed so much out of this current United team is perhaps his most honest achievement - in previous seasons I've seen other team shoot themselves in the foot or dodgy referees carrying them home but not this year. This morning I begrudgingly say well done on reaching another Wembley Cup Final.
  18. >> He is a knight of the realm and a great man. By god you've been brainwashed!
  19. Ferguson a socialist - hahaha! There was more to it than the price. It was sitting on the bench. It was Ferguson talking about Tevez not being worth that amount - i.e. you are not as good as Berbatov and Rooney. None of this good for the psyche of a player. If Tevez had the loyalty you call for he'd probably have stayed at West Ham.
  20. Gary Neville is a moron - but is long enough in the tooth to know how the media pick up on quotes given by players. United only offered the asking price because other teams wanted him during summer, e.g. City, Liverpool - until that point United only offered a reduced price (on what had originally been agreed at start of loan). Tevez probably saw United's attempt at getting him on the cheap as an insult and lack of respect. Maybe he used this an excuse because unlike other United players he backed Ronaldo's right to quit Old Trafford in summer 2008 which I read as an indication that he was thinking of a similar move once his loan expired 12 months later (summer '09)
  21. I'm sure he'll be a different man at his next Club - but one thing is for sure money or no money one shot on target against wolves last night is just plain wrong!
  22. Nearly everybody..
  23. I'd have thought you could break your journey anywhere between the 2 stations on your season ticket. Thus if you have an ED to London terminals ticket you can step off / hop on at Peckham.
  24. They opened it back up just before 7
  25. Are you saying Les only joined Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur for the cash?
