I actually think Liverpool will run up quite a few goals tomorrow - I've seen some positive signs recently that suggest we could be looking at 6 or 7 goals for the Reds against Hull. I'm going for a Torres hat-trick and at least one goal from Babel.
Owen was slightly different in that we forced his hand but yes looked set to run his contract down and walk out but still would classify him no worse than McManaman in that respect. Of course since then he has fallen further foul of Liverpool by rejecting a return to Anfield in 2005 when he chose Newcastle and now by breaking the unwritten rule of joining rivals Man U. To be honest, I'm quite cool now on the whole Owen is playing for United - I think I'd be more disappointed with a player like Alonso, who is not emotionally bankrupt, joining United in a few years time.
I don't think Liverpool have really suffered with players walking out on them. The only ones who spring to mind are Keegan, McManaman and Alonso. But Keegan gave 12 months notice, and we tried to sell McManaman with 2 years on his contract to Barcelona (but they used him as a pawn for Rivaldo) and of course trying to sell Alonso last year did not help. I think it's when you get players coming out in media and demanding a move, such as Sheringham at 1998 World Cup, or Ince putting on the United shirt whilst still a Hammer, or forcing a move to a rival like Barmby or Sol Campbell. Lampard using his father's sacking as excuse to demand Upton Pk move. So that kind of stuff will always stoke the fires. Only ex-Liverpool player who has roundly received a bad reception at Anfield has been El Hadji Diouf.
Yes Keef Heineken shut down their UK brewery so now we get the imported 5% version from Amsterdam Tap, cans, bottles do tend to always taste different per lager - not sure the exact reasons but sure we have experts on the matter from the EDF drinks. Rule of thumb is only drink lager that is imported. If you want for example the real Stella it seems you can usually acquire it in dodgy off licences up and down the country (although they sometimes place the UK versions at front). Always look on the can, whether it Stella, Kronenberg to ensure it isn't stamped 'Brewed in Burton-on-Trent' !
I see today the BBC are reporting we can expect more spiders crawling around this autumn than usual.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8273960.stm I'm not entirely surprised having seen quite a few crawling across my laminate flooring in recent months (they were bloody giants!). As I see it there are four variations available in how to deal with the spider: - 1) Put your feet up on the sofa to avoid contact! 2) Go and pick them up and take them to the garden / toilet etc 3) Ignore them and continue watching the telly 4) Grab the yellow pages and drop from a great height What is your method of dealing with the spider!?
cheers guys How would "dark stains" occur ? I'm now thinking I'll construct the partition wall myself (then get a pro in for the plastering) - assuming I go with the Rockwool Flexi and Soundboards (plus softwood), anyone know which is the best place for price and delivery for a mere retail customer?
How about drive down to Lewisham to do your free parking then hop on the DLR to CW I've driven down to Lewisham during rush hour to drop off a rented car and via New Cross (from ED) it would take about 25 mins... but perhaps there is a quicker road trip to Lewisham? Another alternative is to jump on 185 bus (how ever long that takes?) then grab the DLR to CW.
Well for me it was having to sit through the Rugby Union Five Nations or Horse racing whilst waiting for Grandstand's vidiprinter to start up at half four with the Footy scores..
I'm having someone construct a 6 x 7 foot internal partition to fully split 1 room back into 2 (have to work with existing internal wall of 113mm) - and have decided to have a 2 x 3 softwood stud partition so I can have thicker plasterboards. I want to put insulation in the cavity between the plasterboards to limit noise & heat loss. Insulation has to be less than 64mm thick (based on 2 x 3 frame) but no idea what is the best soltution, blocks, which blocks, something like rockwool etc? Anyone any advice?
Wikipedia "News broke at the start of September 2009 that Sheringham had returned to football, signing for Kent League side Beckenham Town, but this was later revealed to be a failed publicity stunt by the club."

Seen this from Diouf, about when he played at Everton on weekend: "The ball went out and I wanted to take the throw in quickly. The ball-boy threw the ball at me like a bone to a dog ... What's more people threw bananas at me" http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=678772&sec=england&cc=5739

LOL I've criticised plenty of other Clubs, including my own, so I think I've been pretty fair with my comments. I chucked in a comment about 'washed up bums' playing for Liverpool last night which of course draws no attention - but yet something milder about the Mancs and it's obviously a vendetta :)) Just because the FA brush it under the carpet does not mean we should cut the Mancs the same slack :)) I'd actually recognised a Scouser had tried to kill a Bulgarian in my defence of Michael Shields. There is something wrong that justice has failed as I cannot imagine people in this country putting up with it if it had been vice versa.
Tut tut - Gary Neville given another warning by the FA for his behaviour on Sunday when he ran from bench to celebrate winning goal in front of City fans... hmmm wonder what Mr Adebayor will think about that! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/8269061.stm
