Adebayor just won't let it go... "I had played my heart out for that club [Arsenal] and gave it my best and the way the fans behaved towards me was not nice at all." ?I only ever told him [Wenger] I loved the club and wanted to stay, but I think the club needed money. They had to sell someone and they pointed the finger at myself. Wenger told me they had accepted City?s offer and I asked him why ? at the end of the day I found out that Arsenal needed the money and that I was the target. I never wanted to leave but now it?s all behind me and it is about what I am going to do with City.?

SP - How on earth does that come across as sounding proud - I've corrected Mick Mac who assumed Gerrard was in the clear. As for Everton, now we know why fans sing 'We're all laughing at Everton, ha ha ha'
-
No it was Gerrard's mate who elbowed the DJ - the DJ then motioned towards Gerrard who he thought had landed the elbow, and Gerrard was unaware of stray elbow so thought that DJ was about to launch attack and hence used his 'boxing skills' to defend himself. > Re: Danny Fox Mick sorry to disappoint but Coventry are no longer in the Premiership... but the boy does have some pedigree as he previously plyed his trade in the Scottish Second Division for Stranraer

Mick - sounds like you'll be supporting the Reds this season then! > If Maradona joins Pompey, would the fans ever stoop as low as the Man Ure mob to chant "Argentina", I doubt it!! Not with the Navy and Marines on their doorstep

Although Betfair 15.5 suggests some future signings are already built in you have to say that until they are shorter than Arsenal (10.0) an opportunity for Laying it off with profit will surely exist.

Barcelona 'have had an offer of about ?38m plus Eto'o, in exchange for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, accepted while Alexander Hleb will also join Inter on loan.' That basically prices 27 year old Ibrahimovic as more expensive than Kaka! I've seen Ibrahimovic play 4 times and have to say each time he has been very disappointing. For all the money Real Madrid have spent this summer I think this Barcelona deal is going to be their biggest boost of wrestling back the La Liga title.

Talk about arrogance from Real Madrid with this corker from their Sporting Director ?The problem with Alonso is there are no alternatives, with the way football is evolving, the creative central midfielder is becoming fewer and fewer. Alonso is not a fad, there are just not may alternatives - not in the Americas or in Europe are their players who can perform his task. They stalled, from day one - the demands of Liverpool were beyond what Madrid was willing to pay and that is very difficult to understand. That is not the way to get things done, but I have not given up hope we can solve this.?

Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Prediction. If Arsenal do not make the champs > league proper, they will win the Prem. With the makeup of the Arsenal squad I'd say it's more likely to implode with recriminations - and if anything I'd say they'd sink rather than swim. Sandperson Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > City are going to make some of us look silly this season I fully expect City to be knocking on at least the top 4 this season. They've done a lot of business so far (Barry, Santa Cruz, Tevez, Adebayor) and I expect they'll ramp it up further during August with strong additions to rest of team. If they sign John Terry then they will be a real threat not so much because of his football but because he is a winner and that will rub off on their team ethics.

Last time Celtic played in the Champions League qualifier with a new manager was 4 years ago... and they got battered 5-0 by the Slovakian champions. The regular competition in the SPL makes it doubtful they'll even be in the hat to draw Arsenal. Personally I'd rather Celtic and Arsenal didn't qualify for the Champions League group stages as it's lost a lot of the gloss in recent years being overloaded with British teams, especially in the quarters and semi finals.

Peckham = Chelsea As the Bushells estate agent drove me through SE15 he said, "this so reminds me of Chelsea" -

Hmmmm doesn't Xabi Alonso look pleased to be in Thailand today on Liverpool duty rather than sinking a Guiness for Real Madrid over in Ireland..

Any chance you saw my car hit on Crystal Palace Road?

I think in the majority of cases someone in your position would have called the Police if only for Insurance purposes http://www.trafficaccidentadvice.co.uk/when-the-other-party-in-an-accident-has-no-motor-insurance.html -
Seems even the official Liverpool website is starting to tire of Rafa not answering questions as the Reds touch down in Thailand. Rafa was asked the same question 3 times by local journalists in Bangkok about the future of Alonso.. LFC.tv: --- "But are you planning to talk to him about the transfer speculation?" quizzed one local journalist. Benitez, though, familiar with not answering questions he doesn't want to, replied: "He is here with us this week, he can enjoy the games, the weather and the journalists." --- I know trips to the Far East are all about making money but surely they serve no benefit to preparing for the domestic campagin. Liverpool lost 1-0 in Vienna last night in front of 53,000 and then it was straight on the plane to Thailand. That time flying and acclimatising is surely better spent building up fitness and skills on the training pitch.

Ah Beckham has made similar gestures in the past - he may provoke on occasion but I don't think he'd do a Cantona... someone should have told him though not front up to the 'LA Riot Squad' section

Until the wicket falls then Australia are going to increasingly fancy their chance of winning.. 209 to win doesn't seem so far away when the two at the crease have already put together that kind of partnership today.

The official Premiership version, i.e. Barclays, is probably the simplest if you want both passive as well as interactive users. Pick team at beginning of season and that's it... when player is injured one of your subs is automatically selected. Obviously if someone thinks there is no any point to it, then fair enough don't join - I'm sure the Admin won'r revoke your right to post in the footy thread ;-) Having read some posts since I set it up it seems there have been EDF FFL in previous seasons also using the Barclays version... but not sure how popular it was - either way it is a good way to get you cheering for players you'd otherwise spit on :))

It's funny but that pub has never been suggested as a venue for EDF Drinks... I wondered why... question now answered -
Well the Barclays Premier League is pretty simple, pick you XI, and 4 subs. When anyone is injured a sub is automatically picked for the injured player if you want to sit in the directors box rather than touchline.
