  1. It is the Plough - the Plough on "Saturday"
  2. It is the FHT - Forest Hill Tavern on "Friday"
  3. I once heard a story of a guy shouting down his mobile on a train for the entire journey. A woman fell ill and the few passengers aboard asked the loud mouth if they could use his mobile phone to call the emergency services. He refused. Eventually, one of the other passengers grabbed the phone from him to make the 999 call... and then found it was actually a fake phone...
  4. I'm gonna try and come to this, I've never been to the Plough, so absolutely no idea where inside you'll all be situated! Give us a clue!?
  5. I keep hearing stories about Doctors and Dentists who are on short term contracts which promotes this culture of no attachment to the patient and hence no accountability for their actions if their treatment proves to be detrimental. It's getting like the building trade. It might be harsh but I think it's fair to say, I always think of a GP as someone who failed to become a Consultant. Often their knowledge is not much better than you'll quickly find on wikipedia - so if you have any doubts whatsoever about the treatment proposed from your GP then I'd recommend you demand a referral to a Consultant at Kings or any other NHS hospital in England (which you can do whatever your GP claims). I don't want to tar all GPs with the same rotten brush but in some cases you have to manage your own health diagnosis.
  6. I've had Vodafone, Orange and O2 whilst in East Dulwich - and Vodafone has been the best reception by a country mile, O2 being the weakest.
  7. Well done Robbie Keane involved in all 4 goals for Spurs tonight - and turning in the kind of tap in against 'Boro that Dirk Kuyt failed to convert, against same team, last weekend. Funnily enough most of the strikers Rafa has offloaded in recent seasons seem to be more lethal in the penalty box than the man they left behind.. Dirk Kuyt. Not sure why that is.
  8. I've played Mario Kart at a friend's and it is was great fun, i can imagine with a few pints it gets even more hilarious
  9. I disagree with that Atila, there are a lot of weak minded people out there who can be easily influenced by these 'lifestyle' adverts. You walk past a Bookies on Lordship Lane and usually they advertise a particular scoreline / first goalscorer for the next big football match with the hundreds of pounds you can win... the idea is that the punter will think yes, "2-0, Ronaldo to score first" sounds about right... hmmmm, let me put a tenner on that..

By the grace of God, I will answer that on Saturday!
  11. Blinking 'eck looks like Wayne Rooney has turned into the Angel of the North!
  12. Well it's the Euromillions ?85 million jackpot this Friday - and having caught an advert on TV it drew me into my nearest newsagents to buy a ticket next time I passed!
  13. What chance United slip up at Newcastle tonight.. is it possible the Geordies (a club I've always admired for their winning mentality, team work and resolute defence), can pull off a shock!? Is it possible Ferguson will take pity on Newcastle and only send out 8 players to make it a competitive game before putting Van Der Saar back in goal for the 2nd half instead of Rio!? It's twenty years ago almost to the day that Liverpool trailed Arsenal by 19 points and swung it 22 points before that final, fateful night at Anfield when ... well you all know what happend ... March 1st, 1989, Liverpool started the ball rolling with an unconvincing 2-0 win over Charlton at Anfield ... does this ring any bells for anyone!? Title charge, not over yet!?
  14. Harsh but fair - had to get it off my chest
  15. Of course that 49 game stretch would have been 50, if Wayne Rooney had not done his disgraceful dive to cheat United to a penalty. A dive so bad that even Ronaldo would have blushed. One of the most diabolical decisions in any given season was that penalty. Let's face it when United won the treble they were extremely lucky. We can talk about Liverpool being lucky in Istanbul due to be being 3-0 down at half time when in the end they fought back and deserved their win... but United in 1999, 2 corner kicks in injury time against a dominant Bayern Munich, oh puuurrlease... Chuck in the all the diving over the years, snarling, kicking, conning referees, United would not have achieved half of what they did if the Referees in this country had any bottle... and that's a FACT!

  17. There is no denying that since Wenger has come to England he has been head and shoulders the best manager in the Premiership - the best football, turned good players into great players and has done it without spending too much money. The point I am making is that it's only because of his track record that his medium term future is secure at Arsenal - they are presuming/hoping he can reproduce the old magic rather than basing it on potential of current team who look light years away from being competitive.. How many more years do you think Arsenal would wish to keep Wenger as Manager if they continue to flirt with 4th spot every season?
  18. If Wenger had done in his first 4 years what he has done in his last 4 years at Arsenal, he'd have been ruthlesslessly sacked like Bruce Rioch. Wenger is running down his credit and I think two more years of this and he will get the axe.
  19. Jeeeeez based on this report from the bus driver carrying the team, the scumbags were trying to massacre the entire team. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/7920995.stm Until Pakistan sort out these problems they have to be isolated from International sport.
  20. I hate MOTD - that Gary Linekar and Alan Hansen are a pair of jokers. Surely it's time to kick those patronising b'stards off our screens! I think Sky Sports are head and shoulders above ITV, BBC and Setanta. I know Jamie Redknapp can be irritating but their usual Champions League panel of Souness, Gullit and Hoddle is quality.
  21. Possibly people just like complaining for the 'ell of it
  22. Just cancelled my Setanta subscription - no more cr@p from 12th April! They asked why I was cancelling, so I told them it was the commentary of Craig Burley. The salesman said a lot of people have made complaints over Burley.
  23. Plough Lane
  24. Yes Keef you are right Jamie Carragher scored 2 own goals against the Mancs, both at the Kop end. Don't remember any question on it though!
