  1. With skin painted white by any chance!?
  2. Yes winning a trophy gives me great pleasure, as does getting a seat with a table on the way home from Anfield with a cold 4 pack of lager :) Seriously, I enjoy all trophy wins... to date, the Champions League final when I was in Istanbul was incredible. I've never been so happy at the final whistle as that game, that was what football is all about! The most shell shocked occasion was when I sat at Anfield when a Mr.M.Thomas shoved the ball in the back of the net.. So there we have it two extremes - and then you can really measure what pleasure and pain on the football pitch is all about...
  3. Yup half their songs are about Liverpool - and the other half they've stolen from Liverpool...
  4. In 2001/02, United went on a great 12 game winning streak - but then it came to a halt when they started facing the better teams again, so we could be looking at a similar scenario this season. I still think United have to be classed as Favourites what with a 5 point lead - but I think people have to realise that there is no guarentee they will collect maximum points when they play Liverpool, Villa and Arsenal at Old Trafford. That's not saying Liverpool will win all their games either - but in football one bad result at this time of season can have a huge pyschological impact on victims and the chasers.
  5. Maybe it is the last throw of the dice from BBW as he thinks the ruthless 12 man EDF Administrator team is going to cut off his internet connection at the infamous Lordship Lane Kennel Club
  6. Are they not BOTH 2 questions? ;-)
  7. I'm arriving in Madrid the next morning (leaving Gatwick at 8am) - might see you there. I thought Atletico were still serving a fan ban hence why UEFA have allowed them and Real to play at home during the same week?
  8. Which European Football Stadium is this?
  9. West Ham
  10. Might have had a few drinks in the afternoon, but we were only 20 metres or so from the Away section and there was certainly no missles thrown, but having said that the Police were tooled up and ready for action so that may play a major part on crowd behaviour.... maybe there is a vision of Midnight Express for anyone who wants to throw an empty can!? The impression I got was it was worse at Galatasaray's own ground - I was told the Fenerbahce Directors had been forced to sit in the Away section with their own fans after being hounded out of the Directors box by the Galatasaray fans. Went to that ground as well and it is woeful compared with Fenerbahce. Here are two pictures I took at both grounds.
  11. I went to the Fenerbahce v Galatasaray derby in 2005, when Fener won the Title and lifted the Championship and it was an explosive atmosphere but still better behaved than any Man United v Liverpool match I've been to at Old Trafford. Having said that I think the Goodison derby is historically the best in England, and probably the best today for proper atmosphere.
  12. Eastlands, home of Man City?
  13. The bench seating at back of terrace may have been for fans feeling unwell during the match. On the old Kop, I twice was close to blacking out and just about crawled away from the heart and lungs of the old Kop. It's alright people saying bring back the terraces as they're the people who think it's like standing up on your seat with room to swing an elbow which it is on the outskirts of any terracing - but in the centre it's like getting on the Victoria Line at Victoria (during the rush hour) and being like that for 90 minutes... hard work, god bless the idea of bench seating to take a time out :)
  14. I thought the statistic about Camberwell crime was startling - but glad it was aired as you cannot sweep these things under the carpet and hope they go away. That guy who asked the question should be applauded - as it puts Camberwell back on the Radar. The question about the Kebab was irrelevant for a panel who knew nothing about the area first hand. Richard Dimbleby could have reversed the question at the audience, and asked for a show of hands on, how many people in the audience would feel safer walking at night in Peckham than in their home towns back in Bristol, Leeds, Bradford, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow or overseas etc..
  15. St Andrews - home of Birminghan City - had a Gypsy curse placed on it and are the only major City football club never to win the League or FA Cup. When Barry Fry was Manager he urinated at each corner flag to try and exercise the curse.
  16. Eric Cantona - Aug '92 Charity Shield for Leeds United?
  17. Good point made from the guy whose office overlooks Jacqui Smith's "main home" - she's there 3 days a week, 35 weeks a year
  18. Good to see Mark Clattenburg, one of the best young Referees in the Premiership is finally being reinstated from April. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/feb/18/referee-mark-clattenburg-suspended-business-affairs
  19. Grrrrrr.....
  20. Right the spell has been cast, just put ?2 on United to win >:D
  21. I might make on a bet on United winning..
  22. I have drawn attention to an assualt on the pitch performed by Roy Keane - why is that deemed as anti-United?
  23. I'm not entirely surprised by the reaction to my Roy Keane observations - they say to be a proper Manchester United fan you need perfect balance to keep that chip on your shoulder >:D
  24. Roy Keane may explain his thuggish behaviour* as the result of Alf-Inge Haaland sneering over him when he got a serious injury at Elland Road - what Keane may have forgotten is the injury at Elland Road was caused by a miss timed tackle from behind on Haarland which Haarland may have considered to have been an attempt to break his legs. *
