  1. Well I got Peter Crouch first goal scorer correct ... for anyone looking to boost their grand national kitty ;-) I fully expect Newcastle to dismantle Chelsea on Saturday with Shearer back at Newcastle, and they say things come in 3's so am sticking with a Villa 'dream' win at Old Trafford :-)
  2. If Crouch starts then I'd say Crouch to score first, as Rooney will be too deep to make it reasonable odds I'd also tip Andriy Voronin to score at some point during match.
  3. Well he may have calculated that with only 8 games left he has nothing to lose - as why the hell didn't he offer his services once Keegan resigned or Kinnear had his heart troubles few months back!? Not impressed.
  4. Vale can pretty much pick up any channels but unless they have it on their chalkboard in advance you might want to speak with Landlord so he gets his act in order beforehand to have it as additional game. Obviously the big draw is England v Ukraine. Perhaps the biggest qualifier tonight is Turkey v Spain, and that is a live feed on betfair.co.uk
  5. They do show multiple games so you might be in luck.
  6. But will they conserve their energies for the Ukrainians!?
  7. Shearer will not be missed on MOTD...
  8. If you want a free swim go to the seaside
  9. It's all relative - if it was surrounded by likes of St John's Wood, Mayfair and Chelsea some would say SE22 was a ghetto whilst others might counter that it's where real ppl lived..
  10. Back in 1997, I was holed up in a Luxembourg hotel room for 2 weeks during which time I had to arrange Cup Winners Cup semi final travel & ticket arrangements in Paris for me and my cousin - anyway it cost my employer over ?200 in hotel room telephone charges... Although some of the telephone costs included getting a running commentary on the final minutes from a friend at Highbury watching Liverpool beat Arsenal :-)
  11. "Prison Break" seasons 1 and 2 - simply the best!
  12. I dreamt last night that, Aston Villa score a late winner this Sunday at Old Trafford to beat Man United... although I am concerned about it's credibility, as the final score was Manchester United 18 - 22 Aston Villa ::o
  13. Wrong answer! ;-)
  14. I was wrong! ------------------------------------------------------- > As you say the last time United lost back to back > PL games was 2002/03 - which happened twice that > season. The first PL double defeat was followed by > losing another 9 points in the next 9 PL games. > The second PL double defeat cost 4 more points > during the next 9 games. Last time United had back to back PL defeats was actually 4 years ago (2004/05) - then lost a further 5 points in their final 5 PL games. That season they also lost the FA Cup Final to Arsenal (Man Utd having earlier beaten Everton & Southamption), failed to win the Premiership and Liverpool were crowned European Champions - is there a pattern!?
  15. Blimey, that was a good curry! They even gave me a complimentary brandy to wash it all down! Oh and it must be mentioned what pride they take having previously been awarded best curry house by the EDF, as it was emblazened on their chocolate wrappers when it was credit card time!
  16. I watched the first series and caught the odd sound bite in further series but in truth I think it's a load of rubbish ... it's an excellent concept but I've found more intelligence at Sainsbury's asking where they stock the eggs..
  17. First series was top quality til until they stabbed Ceasar in the back (sticking to the script so to speak), talking of which doesn't the character who played Brutus, who inflicted the final stab would, reside in East Dulwich? Personally, don't see the point of making a movie that has already been covered in the cinema on numerous occasions..
  18. Not greatest photo but took whilst overhead..
  19. Ledley King has already tried the Paul McGrath approach..
  20. Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel has had his Old Trafford suspension lifted by the FA - so is now free to face Man Utd in 2 weeks time. Not sure why Capello selected Ledley King, as surely he must have known about his chronic injury problems, which beggars the question why is Michael Owen continually snubbed.. With Steven Gerrard ripping up trees for Liverpool as the 2nd striker will Capello now pick Gerrard in same position for England at the expense of Wayne Rooney?
  21. I can't really complain about one sentence being picked out from a paragraph as I've been guilty myself in the past for my gutter tabloid remarks about United... LOL Anyway, without the "sherlock" sentence, the paragraph might have read as a meaningless stat... as not everyone is in tune with the predicament of the Big 2!
  22. Of course it'll impact on Liverpool as it breaks their momentum. However it'll also impact United, as unlike Goran, they will not be able to regroup as a team for another 10 days, during which time the sting of defeat maybe lost on some players. What United need is time on the training pitch to make a few tweaks and reassert their style of play - and that is the impact they will suffer from the break. As you say the last time United lost back to back PL games was 2002/03 - which happened twice that season. The first PL double defeat was followed by losing another 9 points in the next 9 PL games. The second PL double defeat cost 4 more points during the next 9 games. Liverpool need United to lose a minimum of 4 points in their remaining 9 games this season following their latest PL double defeat if Liverpool are to have any chance of the title.
  23. Actually Liverpool play the day before - so United could be trailing by 2 points when they face Villa who will be determined not to be humiliated again after yesterday's Sunday roast. The International break has come at an unfortunate time but I'm not sure who it impacts the most.
  24. Whether Liverpool will win all their games I don't know - I think you have to take one weekend at a time as the complexion can be completely changed on one result. However, looking at both teams fixtures and the way both teams are set-up I think United have the harder run in. If I were a United fan I'd be most concerned about the home fixtures against Man City, Arsenal, Spurs and Villa and Wigan away. I am not convinced about the United midfield and if Ronaldo does not perform then United could easily ship a lot more points. Of course Liverpool need to keep winning, and I think they will. I can see the Reds dropping a few points at West Ham.
