  1. SP - I have only read the first line of your post. Lets put the record straight - Barca WERE brilliant - to dominate United like that you have to be brilliant. United I'm afraid hardly got a touch, or thats how it seemed from 10 mins onward. A real top class performance. We are always quick to congratulate MU when they do well, but they were outclassed tonight and we need to toast Barca - the media will tomorrow. It was not about MU playing badly, it was Barca's speriority.
  2. Oh sorry - was it Weat Ham - my memory does let me down from time to time.
  3. I was in Hoopers tonight for the footie - just felt there were other forum types there - anyone owning up? I don't know what any of fellow forumites look like, just had a familiar feeling that i knew someone in there. Anyway - it was my first time there on the basis of forum recommendations and I have to say I quite liked it and may go back there for the Lions games in June. On the basis of tonight it does not get overcrowded. Nice pub.
  4. Quids - am I right in saying you follow Tottenham Hotspur and the other chap what you are having a go at supports the Woolwich Arsenal? Mighty fine banter, you can't beat a bit of banter.
  5. Hey - easy Matt - have you come down from you temporary elation at United's demise?
  6. Amadeus Amadeus - he had white teeth.
  7. And the odds are out for next years English Premiership. Man Utd 2.37 Chelsea 3.75 Liverpool 3.75 Arsenal 8.00 Man City ? If I was choosing to bet now I might choose to be a Liverpool fan next season, although might be worth waiting to see if Rafa can remember his tactics from the last quarter of last season until the start of the next season. He seemed to change to a more attacking style and if he can keep that going I think Liverpool are as good as anyone. As normal noone quite knows what Arsenal will come up with. Man united showed some limitations tonight but are always there or there abouts but tonights defeat will hit them really hard as they have come to earth with a bit of a bump. If Chelsea had Hiddink I would back them right now, he really showed them the way. But who knows really....
  8. Not sure what you mean by that Atila - I'm pretty neutral when it comes to English football. I just think Henry is not up to the job and proved it again tonight, Eto showed the difference. I have said before Henry is a sunshine player - thats 3 very good chances he has had to score in a Champions League final and failed - luckily tonight his team did not live to regret the miss, as Barca's real class players stepped up on the night, what great play by Eto and Messi. I had a good bet on Barca tonight, but even I was surprised by their superiority - best team in Europe without a doubt, United won the English league but they struggled a few times, they were consistent but not breathtaking this season - Barca won the Spanish league in breathtaking fashion and that's why I backed them.
  9. The first stabbing has taken place - a 52 year old outside his Rome hotel.
  10. Actually Ted - I read he got punched in the eye for refusing to leave the crease when plum LBW.
  11. Radio 5 Live - Some pundit (can't identify him yet) has just said that a lot of English fans would like to see Thierry Henry win a Champions League medal. [True] He then said because TH is the best player ever to have played in the Champions League [bollocks] I have heard the pundits name mentioned - Sean Custis???/ from the Sun??? I expect only Arsenal fans could have the blind loyalty to think Tierry Henry is the best player ever to have played in the Champions League - surely he has been a bit part player in the competition.
  12. I'll nominate "woofmarkthedog" and "????" who I don't think have been mentioned. Oh and Annasfield - she made me laugh the most by referring to me as "not at all patronising" ... and it was only my second ever post (although she does not generally try to be funny - I think?). I agree most of the other nominations - I find Dulwich Mum very entartaining rather than laugh out loud. BBW makes me laugh/gasp in equal amounts. HB of course is often very funny and the great thing about the forum is that almost everyone else is funny on occaision. Yes even MikeCG.
  13. Might be a bit of a squeeze in the EDT at 7.30....there's a football match on. I can't make the curry but hope to make the next one.
  14. Sounds great Brendan, and not that unusual either maybe. Its always nice to wake up and see new girls in the house, even if they are not "yours". There is the obvious dissappointment that your flatmate has been more successful on the pulling front the previous evening than yourself, but then on the bright side, you at least get to look at his conquest the next morning.
  15. I had a female flatmate in Clapham once - the first thing she said to me was "Hi nice to meet you - you own me ?3 a month for insurance". Then she used to complain about me getting hair gel on the mirror. She gave me so much abuse I thought she'd make the perfect wife so I married her and made her life difficult.
  16. Liam Neeson went to my primary school {and his dad Barney was the caretaker}.
  17. um - posting at 2.25 am - that was a later night than i had thought - aren't bars supposed to shut at 10.30 on sundays? fancy serving me beer until 1am, disgusting.
  18. I have gone to the "ladies" with a girlfriend at the cinema once - that was quite brave for me, but only a few feet high I'm afraid.
  19. I was out in ED on the strip tonight - I saw a lot of nice looking people and suspect a few forumites were amongst them - I was in EDT, Bishop and Liquorish....anyone else in these bars. Good live musician in liquorish tonight before the dj, good vibe, anyone else there? Saw noone wolflike...
  20. Boo hoo. Well done rangers.
  21. Rangers lead Dundee United and championship currently Ibrox bound. Celtic play their usual over patient rubbish against Hearts. Dundee United playing ok but can't see them scoring against Rangers but who knows.
  22. My two steaks for ?14 compared to HellNoHellYeah getting: 2 very large and thick sirloin steaks 2 pretty large ribeye steaks 3 enormous chicken legs 2 lbs of chicken breasts the whole lot came to ?17.50 That does not seem right. Maybe not added up correctly.
  23. I think Anna's original post said a Reine hat trick ..and Gerrard brace, so my robbie keane comment was toungue in cheek.
  24. And guess what - they did it!
  25. What Friern Road big lunch - Live on Friern and its news to me....
