  1. So how far did you walk Annaj?
  2. Pretty much impossible/at very least unreasonable.
  3. Sean - I think a 1 1/2 hour walk each way (3 hours) is pretty much impossible. Its perhaps a sign of the current job uncertainty that so many people actually considered this. Fortunatly my employer also sent an email to blackberrys early Monday saying no need to "take risks to come in, to work from home (or play with the kids in the snow)" which I thought was understanding although very unusual for them.
  4. Dwarf tossing - thats a messy business.
  5. Respect to the Bigbadwolf - if he gets shouted down, he does net get all grovelly and beg for apologies but like a real wolf, he comes out fighting. Seems to work on a building site though - probably not trained/brainwashed by overzealous HR departments to "say nothing interesting or you lose your job" like the rest of us get emailed in new company policy updates every year/month/week.

I had cause to go to Dulwich Medical Centre yesterday suffering from Sinusitis and was seen by a very professional and caring doctor So I feel bad about my comments above - the local health centres I guess bring increased efficiencies and you can get good treatment even from someone who does not know you. Today's doctors are probably under more presssure to quickly see and diagnose patients and they achieve this with the minimum of fuss - so hat's off to them. They are a different breed from the old doctors of the past, but no less talented.
  7. TLS - I for one have found your Superbowl posts humourous - I thought initially Horsebox was not too imaginative in responding to them so I thought you had the upper hand for a while. But then I agreed with you rather than he.
  8. fencing?
  9. I watched Liverpool tonight (currently extra time) but I seem to feel i get bored watching them. I have never particularly liked Rafa's syle of play and am never sure why Liverpool fans are so keen on him. Do any Liverpool fans want to see him go? I feel if you put the Milan (brilliant but slightly fortunate) Ch League win to one side, there is not a lot to show for 5 seasons, and at the end of the day you want to be entertained. I think Liverpool's desperation to win the title shows that they will put up with cautious football for years if it means winning the league eventually - but I feel Rafa's reign will ultimately be looked back on as 5 wasted years....especially if Robbie Keane pops up for a bit of personal revenge on the last day of the season.

I might have to pop into a > pub to see us get murdered! Best places for > Setanta? Ratty - allow me to plug Setanta: Setanta is only 10.99 a month and is fantastic value - you don't need a box or any contract with sky or anyone els - they just send out a little data card which you put into the back of your tv and off you go. Liverpool have been a heaps recently. They have also got FA Cup, SPL, US golf and from next season the rights to Guiness Premiership rugby. You can subscribe for one month only if you want to, there's no minimum term - so maybe give it a try. Compared to Sky you get a lot more for your ?1 - perfect credit crunch value product.
  11. I'm in too. Unfortunatley could only pick 3 Irish players, was going to choose the whole team - think this is the year.....
  12. hey guys. Lay off christian. It cant be an easy life as a holywood actor. You cant produce your best work at the drop of a hat. Maybe he was "in character" as a baddie and just could not snap out of it in time.... Lucky it did not happen on american psycho, with all those knives and chainsaws around, could have been messy.
  13. id like to see the bbc statistics for how many viewers the superbowl had at the beginning and the end of the game, to see how many people were really interested enough to watch long enough to see who won or whether they were just curious to watch to see what it was all about.
  14. anyone know if trains running from denmark hill to victoria please?
  15. Fencing or Judo maybe
  16. zephyr Wrote: Sometimes > however Ocado has been up to ?8 more expensive (on > a ?120 shop) My wife did a shop tonight online and checked it on MYSUPERMARKET which pricechecks the same items across Ocado/Tesco/Sainsbury/asda. The total price was as follows: Ocado ?126 Tesco ?109 Asda ?108 Sainsbury ?100 I have always believed Ocado were significantly more expensive so it might be worth doing this check on your weekly shop and seeing if these results are borne out. Its only some items that are tesco price checked - probably a merketing ploy as they know they are more expensive and want to divert criticism on price. Having said that their product quality and customer service is second to none and some would think worth paying the extra for.
  17. Does anyone know if any of these routes (running tomorrow) to Victoria or London Bridge go through Denmark Hill or East Dulwich? http://www.southernrailway.com/main.php?page_id=5 I see what Pad has said above but just checked the site and thought this may be new info.
  18. Horsebox I can't understand why this event if even televised in the UK at all, never mind being encouraged to watch it - no other minority sport, played by only one foreign country, is televised by the UK media. Its not just the Superbowl, I'm slighly irked that we cover the whole US presidential race from start to finish - just tell us who won and his policies. Back on topic: I like real sports where decisions are made on the field and real captains make decisions to change a game that is going against them, rather than endless timeouts which break the flow of the game. This is the test of a real team. Bring on the six nations rugby...
  19. I think BIG5 must have very wet feet - noone likes wet feet and my 3 year old can get a bit ratty with wet feet.
  20. Maybe the Ocado vans are superhuman and can take us all to work tomorrow - they seem to be able to succeed where buses and trains cannot. We don't use Ocado every week (anymore) as but I always look forward to their turn as a you open the door to a retired bank manager type who calls you sir and is only too delighted to take the shopping through to ones kitchen for you - lovely people. You get what you pay for - the Tesco equivalent has cheeky chappie (just out of jail/borstal) telling my wife he is not obligated to carry shopping into the customer's house if he feels it is not safe to do so.... Ha Ha..who's he kidding, the lazy boll*cks As for that Ocado doing a Teeco price check - I think that must be complete bollocks... our Ocado shop was always significantly more expensive than the other mainstream supermarkets.
  21. karter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It is snowing again. I don't remember seeing the > impact Snow has had on london as it has today. > London was not prepped for this louisa. As Sean > says. I remember the snow in 1991 - I had only just begun working and I managed to get into work to find there were only about 3 people there. In all my time since I don't remember having more than a day or 2 like this when most people took the day off. I disagree with Louisa, we are far from lazy - London is one of the hardest working cities in the world, long hours and long journey times, lots of stress, so its not lazy to have a day off with adverse weather conditions once every 18 years.
  22. If I knew noone was expected to go to work today I might have stayed up. Now can we force the whole of America to watch the FA Cup Final? thought not, guess what, they are not interested in our sports - so why does anyone think we are interested in theirs? TLS - very funny posts above btw.
  23. We might be doing it all again tomorrow - I have had an email from work telling people (who did make it in) that the Met Office predicts another 5-10 cm of snow this evening and that they should go home - so guess what, the Bishop could be busy again tomorrow......
  24. Have not got a clue Declan - will try boxing - how about the British Heavyweight championship?
  25. Have just seen a diva sing a fantastic version of the star spangled banner - I reckon that will be the highlight of the night's proceedings - so I'm off to bed. Let me know who wins folks...
