  3. I was interested (Otta) in the Suarez insight into how a manager manages and improves players. I was interested in how this sits with those who have given so much credit for Liverpool's near miss to Suarez, whilst Suarez now gives much of the credit for his development to Rodgers.
  4. Brendan Rodgers - I couldn't be happier. For me this is a great appointment of a Celtic fan for the Celtic job, with Europe as a priority, and a friend of Mark Warburton, so all set up nicely for the future. Desmond has finally upped the ante and pulled off a major coup here. And was interested in Luis Suarez' view on his management ability: ?Brendan is one of the best coaches in Europe and I am not surprised he is looking to get back in to the game because it is a game he loves,? said Suarez ?If it wasn?t for Brendan, then I know I would not be the same player that you see at Barcelona today. Such a big part of my education is down to him and his management. ?Of course he works to make the team stronger but he really works on a one-to-one level with the players. ?He will sit down with each player at the club, and work on where you can improve, where you can exploit opposition, he leaves nothing to chance. ?He is a very intelligent man. If the players listen to his words, they will become better players for sure. ?I wasn?t proven and I had to adapt to the Premier League, which Brendan knew. He knows all about English football and he educated me to become successful. ?I am glad he has taken his time since leaving Liverpool. He should only be looking at the top jobs, with the top clubs, who will be playing Champions League football.?
  5. I would worry about his temperament for the old firm games. Not that many cope with that particularly well.
  6. Apart from you two stating the obvious, there is a problem in Scotland, I don't see what your comments have got to do with the match on Saturday. I prefer to discuss the sport and not the politics. As such it was a great game. The political problems need to be sorted out in society, like racism in England, before they drop out of football - which tends to represent the worst in society, pretty well. But hey why not talk about the football.
  7. Great performance by the team and the management. Which it was, and the match was a fantastic spectacle. Not sure I commented on the fans - neither do I want to.
  8. I don't know RD - you feel a change was needed so soon I'd have given LVG another season - what happended to MU's managerial longevity. It seems these negotiations started many months ago - that's hardly fair. You cant really argue that MU fans don't put up with dull football and then in the same breath appoint Jose - he's success at a cost. I think people are completely bored with his antics. I hoped MU would always be out of his reach.
  9. I find that quite ridiculous. Poor form from MU. And I don't mean the timing of this I mean the decision itself. Mourinho=boring negativity.
  10. Sunshine on Leith. 114 years of hurt is over for the Hibees, and well done to Alan Stubbs in particular.
  11. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/football/2016/may/20/celtic-appoint-brendan-rodgers-manager?client=ms-android-htc-rev# It's official.
  12. ill change to the one on the right.
  13. Funny RD. Although its brioche, to be correct
  14. I don't mind "the sisters", well, the one on the left at least.

  16. Good to see a Celtic player there. Albeit we sold him to Southampton, it's still a good buy and sell. Southampton this season had Fraser Forster, van dyke and Wanyama - all of which could/should have been bought by the big 4 clubs directly from Celtic. They are all top notch.
  17. Dom is only funny when he has that enormous wine glass. Apart from that they are rarely shown any more.
  18. Feel your pain Otta, but no midfield I reckon and Coutinho went missing too.
  19. I love Giles and Mary. My wife loves the Siddiquis...
  20. Possibly a good thing - even cosmetic updating can get very expensive. We spent about 70k over 2 years once without actually doing any building work. I personally think houses that are good spec are better value, assuming it's to your taste. I don't think wildly outdated houses are sufficiently discounted. Although if you want a house and it needs to be a certain size, and the perfect one is out of budget, buy it and take your time updating as the money becomes available.
  21. We will see. I don't think he should be given more time - I just think he will. Don't buy the oft quoted Duff Robben argument really - it was an experiment for him that didn't really work out - in the long run he reverted to type. Of course his style works - but I think the LVG style failure makes it less rather than more likely that they go to Jose next.

If we win the FA > Cup that shouldn't save LvG from the chop. I know > Mourinho has baggage, but anyone else would be a > big risk... If it means more negative football, which it almost certainly will, I'd be surprised if MU went for Jose. Surely the traditional attacking style of MU is the way "forward". anyway - I personally think LVG will be given more time.
  23. I suspect this is going to be a very boring thread. Same old same old.

  25. I noticed that the best ever West Ham 11 in the standard last night had no one from the last 15 year. Paolo di Canio got a half share of a place in the team.
