  1. it's impossible to keep everyone happy, must be your turn this year! point out that you will actually see his family, and stand your ground if it's important to you.
  2. I'm going to need to find evidence that: 1. a hammock is not bad for a baby's back 2. babies do not need to sleep all the time 3. breastfeeding two children is not going to harm anybody so that I can back myself up! I'm sure there's more- need to prepare....
  3. hsbc, though i can't remember why sorry!
  4. could make it easier to conceive too... x
  5. was wondering about you! Glad things seem to be going well after all your worries, looking forward to the announcement x
  6. In my experience easyjet are quite good about buggies, as long as they can be folded. I would email customer services to be sure
  7. righto I'm off with my snotty nosed two year old to run around the sandpit where my housework can't find me, will be there in about 20 mins wearing a blue hat and a baby on my front if anyone wants to join us!
  8. I agree that the people I have met from the forum all seem so together, not odd or bumblng or awkward! Loving this thread, thanks Ruth for starting it. Have to go now and argue with my two year old about whose chair is whose in the kitchen. Have a suspicion I will lose...
  9. I remember one book that entertained well on the last nz trip was a cloth one with a mirror so that G could look at himself! he was 17months at the time (and he still likes looking in the mirror 9 months on..) have fun, hope it all goes well
  10. open as far as i can tell, we went there this afternoon and there is still sand, I don't know if they removed it last year..? It was very quiet though, prob as it was freezing cold and all the sane people were at home :o)
  11. is this still on? might actually make it this time!!!
  12. lots of good advice already and I don't really have any more, but just wanted to add my encouragement and to say I am still breastfeeding my little boy, who is now 26 months, a couple of times a day. He went through a stage a few months ago of not eating much and wanting more boobie, also of tweaking the other nipple while breastfeeding, which was painful and intensely irritating but which he insisted on doing and would really fight me when i protected it from him! Despite all that I did to discourage him i think that he just forgot about it one day and hasn't done it since. it could have been the shock of his new sister arriving of course... ;o) best of luck, her appetite will soon come back and in the meantime she's not starving, and you can eat more cake!
  13. well you have my full sympathy, asn you have probably seen from my post i have had real problems ths time round. the amby hammock is great(thank you saffron!!) though i am only using it for naps during the day as bubs currently sleeps with me at night. i don't think there are any risks involved to be honest. sorry don't have time tonight to reply longer but you are welcome to come and see the hammock if you want. pm me if you'd like to see it up close, am by the horniman
  14. I don't blame him, fab movie ;o) I rely on youtube/demand five/bbc iplayer to get stuff done in the precious time when little miss 11 weeks is sleeping, TV is ok but mister 2 and a bit stands way too close if I don't remind him not to, and if I put a DVD he like to play at pushing the open/close button and putting the DVD in and out of the case, needless to say they don't last long this way. If he's in his high chair in the kitchen at least he's contained...
  15. Nice that you avoided the induction, well done to you! and don't you wish you could take just a little bit of gas/air home for emergencies.. ;o)
  16. if there had been a computer near me during my last labour it would have probably hit the floor! Hope all is well xx
  17. Good luck!! I was induced with my first, and though it was because my waters broke and not because I was overdue, I just wanted to say that it was fine, so please don't worry! I was so so nervous about it but as written above it will be over soon, and you will have all the newborn things to worry about, then all the toddler things before you know it!
  18. childminders are self-employed and set their own rate sorry, crossed posts again...
  19. apart from running ahead of me in sainos the other day and heading STRAIGHT for the eggs, nothing too bad in public, but got a lesson in concept checking the other day when he pointed at daddy in the shower and shouted 'daddy poo!', it turns out that while i thought i was doing a sterling job at getting him ok with his bowel movements ahead of any serious attempts at potty training, he thought i was naming his anatomy. he still doesnt believe me that it's not called a poo...
  20. yes but that's per child, so if they have three children to look after it's a bit better than min wage! edited to say that I'm glad I wasn't the only one up early this morning :o) 4.48 to be exact...
  21. i wouldn't, not good to reheat any type of food more than once and not worth the risk. better to freeze in smaller amounts, i know it's frustrating! sorry, crossed posts!
  22. permission to feel smug granted, take the victories when you can i reckon!
  23. We managed to get Mr 2 to stay n bed until 6.35 this morning, miracles do happen! His little sister didn't care though and was demanding to be fed an hour earlier.. Well at least my husband enjoyed the extra hour...
  24. thanks, had no idea! yuck, as if 6 o'clock starts weren't bad enough...
  25. bus journeys spent playing sleeping hand/ awake hand, or playing other stupid games involving voices and faces I hope never to see on camera... all while avoiding the looks of other passengers in order to pretend I'm not making a complete fool of myself in public yet again!
