  1. only two of us made it last time, we were thinking of meeting next Monday afternoon, does that suit? Otherwise Weds is fine for me as well, just can't do Tuesdays as I normally work... Would be great to meet you both :o)
  2. Don't let it bother you too much, the taxi driver is obviously a twat. he probably has a set of comments he uses over and over again for his own entertainment - waddling women? HAHAHAHAHA you're killing me... twins? OH STOP IT MY SIDES ARE SPLITTING... disbelief at the due date? (guffaw guffaw) wait until i tell the lads how funny i am.... (that'll teach her for making me drive south east...)
  3. oh well, plenty of time to try and undo damage, and if not, to save for therapy! :o)
  4. Hmm.. the car seat should be free to take on the flight, and an hour is a long time to have a baby in a car not strapped in. Are you taking a taxi to and from the airport this end as well? If so it might well be worth the hassle of lugging one with you. We recently went to Rome and then Switzerland and took a car seat with us, was good even just for peace of mind. Have fun!
  5. every day....
  6. call them to check whether they actually received your form, I got to about 7 months before I called and was told that there was no record of me and the first available course started about a week before I was due and ran for three weeks! The lady I spoke to took pity on me (I cried) and said we could sit in on the last evening of the one she had running, which we did. My baby was almost 4 weeks early so we never actually made it to our course, and missed out on all of the labour and birth information! It wasn't the end of the world obviously as nothing can reeeaally prepare you for every eventuality and there is a lot of information available in other places but I do wish I had called earlier... Best of luck :o)
  7. yup i'm with you in hoping the second won't leave me as shocked as the first! I see what you mean about starting work again, would be easier in a lot of ways to just continue rather than start/stop randomly, continuity and all...
  8. why would having to find childcare end your MA? From what I understand, after you have worked the allowed keeping in touch days, any additional days worked will result in the loss of one days maternity allowance. I don't know if there is an upper limit of days so you might want to check but I don't think there is a limit on how much you can earn on each day you work...
  9. Yay! looking forward to it. Just hope the weather holds for us...
  10. hmm not sure, perhaps try the citizens advice bureau website?
  11. Baby GV went into his own room at about 8 months, mainly because we moved from a one bed to a two bed flat and our new room wouldn't fit both our bed and his cot.
  12. no recommendation on brands sorry but re dying your hair while bf, in 'The Pregnancy Book' supplied by the NHS it states that you can "dye, perm or straighten your hair, use fake tan and wear false nails" (p113) So it's entirely up to you :o)
  13. I can do any time on the 9th or the afternoon of the 10th, either Dulwich or Peckham Rye fine for me as both involve a bus ride! (too far to waddle these days...) Perhaps the morning of the 9th, if it suits everyone? x
  14. I'm due at the end of August, would love to meet up with others due around the same time. It's my second (so weird saying that, don't know why!) but all that means is that evenings are no good for me. I'm around most days bar Tuesdays and Saturdays when I work. If anyone else can do days then perhaps somewhere like Dulwich park at the cafe might be good, as those with little ones can let them play and those without can sit and relax!
  15. am heading there in about an hour if anyone else fancies getting out of the house early today! will have a red buggy, a thomas ball and a curly haired toddler
  16. My bump was huge and high earlier but now it seems to have dropped and i look smaller at 6 months than i did a month ago!i am way more tired and my legs resemble a google map. emotionally i am really different than the first time around, i can cry at nothing, and i'm sure i wasnt like that before! And, dare i say it, i feel less excited. Probably because I was soooo excited the first time, and probably because between number one and hubby I don't have that much time to myself to just feel pregnant, instead I am pregnant/mummy/wife/cleaner/cook person. Is anyone else desperate to win euromillions? just once...?
  17. Yes I think we'll head to the library this morning instead, perhaps try the park later on.
  18. i did the same, but baby gv still wanders around finding spare spades/buckets/cars etc to play with! sigh..
  19. I'll be at the sandpit/horniman in any case methinks, would be lovely to have company for me and for bubs (21 mths)
  20. I'm currently pregnant and breastfeeding. According to what I read the foetus gets what it needs first so you don't need to worry- as long as you are eating well and feel ok then everyone should be getting what they need. I was hoping my little boy would self-wean but it hasn't happened yet!
  21. We flew with easyjet a couple of weeks ago, checked in a pram and car seat with no probs, and took an extra bag on board with us for bubs. Was expecting way more hassle but they were really helpful! Have a good trip x
  22. I think the week before your wedding would be best spent relaxing! You never know what last minute things might come up that you will have to deal with, and I wouldn't want to be juggling the two! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy...
  23. definitely uses them for building fairy castles from what I remember, don't remember what we got for them. Though I think back then we still had notes for $1 and $2 so it can't have been more than 50c...
