  1. did i hear a midwife say that screaming wouldn't help?? made me feel better for sure
  2. I also got pregnant while breastfeeding, after just one period
  3. we took our own car seats and paid the driver ?10 to drop them back to our neighbour, had phoned around a few companies and could not find one that supplied car seats for infants and despite them not being a legal requirement we decided it was too risky in the pre Christmas snow. We used forest hill cars, just because they are local and agreed to drop the seats back..
  4. Well for what it's worth I think you are doing an amazing job!
  5. any chance mr f could take unpaid leave for the three non stats this year and then a day or two paid leave after new year? though it might work out cheaper to pay for the op of course.. sorry things are so tough for you at the moment, just read your disaster thread, absolute nightmare.
  6. yup, don't suffer in silence, no one will thank you for it!
  7. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,570543,575670#msg-575670
  8. agree its freezing! have just put the heating on but it always takes ages for the house to feel toasty. Trish if your nipples are craked and bleeding it could also be thrush, might be worth checking with your gp if theres a cream? also, don't know if you have read knomesters fab thread on breastfeeding? will see if i can find a link for you. How old is your baby? I remember my first sucking and sucking on what must have been a fairly empty boob for hours in the evening, v painful.
  9. HAd exactly the same thoughts when I found out I was having a girl, but I'm pretty sure she's going to be just as cheeky as my boy!
  10. As it's no doubt hormonal I'm not sure there's going to be a miracle product (hopefully someone will prove me wrong!!) but make sure you are eating well and drinking lots of water! I have heard that a baby girl steals your beauty... Sorry for the unhelpfulness (and yet, I'm still posting..hmm..) but I'm sure you still look lovely and stylish... :)
  11. my husband looked after bubba #1 while I went off to kings expecting that he would join me, but the few people we had thought would take him were either a- not here yet(nz), b- away or c- too drunk to drive the distance, so ended up by myself at kings! luckily it was quick with no complications, had plenty of gas/air and sang the theme tune to everything's rosie to distract myself (lucky ladies in the beds next to mine..(tu)) my advice would be to make sure that (being summer) people you are counting on are going to be around the few weeks before and after the due date, and not poppng off for weekends...
  12. we stumbled into winter wonderland last week, didn't go on any rides as my little one is too young, but looks fantastic
  13. just had visions of a vapourising baby...;-)
  14. It's a big jump from sleeping next to mummy to being in the dark by herself so I fully understand your reluctance Saffron, my first bub didn't sleep through regularly until I was in hospital for four days after having his little sister and dad had to take over the nights, he's now a very good sleeper so there is hope! He wasn't left to cry by himself even then, he did cry but was in our bed with his dad to look after and reassure him. Now to get his baby sister in her own bed....
  15. Ruth, congrats!
  16. I have one you can borrow but I'm by the Horniman, is that too far to come? It's one that you can't take the clothes off, don't know if it matters...
  17. i got a big v for the first pregnancy, was great for comfy sleeping though a bit bulky for breastfeeding, serves now as a fantastic bolster pillow :))
  18. have just had a read. who knew that cervical mucus could be hostile!
  19. Don't worry, I don't think it's going anywhere..
  20. I get engorged if bubs isn't eating much (rare) and she is 14 weeks, so it's possible, but if you are worried then see a doc for sure
  21. How exciting, good luck, hope it all goes well!
  22. we made it just out the front door, mummy got cold though and had to come inside for a cup of tea! need to get snow proof gloves and shoes!! sorted the kids out but forgot about me... it is very pretty though :o)
  23. that would make a great t-shirt
  24. Have had this a couple of times, haven't retorted but maybe 'haha that NEVER gets old does it' or 'as long as he's potty trained by the time he goes away to uni' my in-laws speak French and I don't so luckily I miss a lot of criticism anyway, blissful ignorance... > > Anyone got a good response to endless "bitty" > jokes?!
