  8. Nope...you are all big fat fibbers/wishful thinkers.
  9. Jeremy Wrote: > And if you have something to give away, if there > are multiple applicants then check their previous > posts... as SMG says... Ah, but what about those posters who only deal via PM? And, I'm sure, after having viewed this thread, many will in future.
  10. Out drinking at Franklins with another forumite last night...offered my house keys as payment for a bowl of chips! Hmmmm. Worse, this wasn't due to alcohol consumption - I had but moments before knocked over my untouched glass of cider all over myself. Should I be worried?
  11. You sound mighty angry BigOne. I too despair over this unfair society that we live in - such despair providing the motivation for this thread. However, there are infinitesimal signs that the political will (at least) to place a fairer society on the political agenda might at last be appearing into view. For a start there is this new Equality Act promulgated by the Labour Party. Secondly, have you not noticed how all 3 main political parties (and the Greens) are now all talking about the importance of a fairer society? For me, it's a glimmer of hope.
  12. This made me laugh SO much... HAL9000 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > For some time now I?ve resisted adopting upper > class affectations - even when dining with > royalty. (nb: highlights are my own)

  18. Mamma Mia Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- >Had to race home and back before > the tills closed at 5.30. Did it in 7 minutes > flat! Hats off to you there! Could you have done that had you been a senile little old lady I wonder?
  19. Well, that certainly puts most of the other little...ahem..escapades...on here into perspective. I do hope you have recovered Huguenot. *tries not to laugh*
  20. Huguenot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > So is HAL9000 suggesting that there should be no > regulation at all, that regulation should be > optional based on the driver's opinion of their > need, or just no regulation for him? ;-) Ah, you are in full swing Huguenot. I don't think HAL9000 is suggesting anything of the kind (and, to be frank, I do not believe you do either). As I understand the situation, (though the computer will probably come along soon and tell me I've completely miscontrued) he is merely expressing his concern over this apparent expansion of monitoring of driver behaviour when, as he points out, "we already have "more CCTV surveillance cameras per capita than any other country in the world". He is also (again, as I see it) by exclaiming "Isn't this going too far!", simply encouraging debate on the matter. So, never mind the winky-smiley-thingamigib at the end there, just put away that enormous wooden spoon of yours (yes I can see it). (Note: fisk free post - special effort, just for you Huguenot!)
  21. Narnia Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Dear Admin, if one hits the 'revoke vote' button > can you revote. For those who change their minds. Yes, I did it (after you pointed me to Willy Woof - remember?). It works! Go on...
  22. Yes, I am able to relate to that...it's the same for me and the liquorice toffees...but you could at least TRY them even though you are 99% sure that the experience will entail disappointment. I bought a bag of liquorice toffees in Sains. today - had one, put the rest aside. But, I know full well that at about 3.00 in the morning when I am desperate for something sweet and chewy that they will be scoffed in no time - inferior or not. And then I shall feel sick!
  23. Sainsburys: went to pay for a massive weekly shop - no purse...humiliating to say the least as huge queue of people behind me (though Sainsburys were very good about it). Jesus, I thought this only happened to senile little old ladies.
  24. cate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You can get the same liquorice toffees at Sainsbos > for less dosh. Think the bag is bigger too. Just got back from Sainsburys...sorry Cate, they are definitely not the same...too hard and the taste is not to my liking, though cheaper at 98p for 150g. Mick Mac...Sainsburys Basics range do Midget Gems at 28p for 150g (yep you heard)...you could do worse than to give them a go.
