I would argue it is essential we allow freedom of speech within the law, we already have certain restictions on the freedoms we believe we enjoy... I am not sure I feel threatened by this group in any way, shape or form, they are a marginal grouping on the extreme fringe, isolated even from other Muslims I, personally, have a completely negative emotional response to them, but I would never deny their right to lawful expression. I would give Nick Griffin copious amounts of airtime, he is entirely capable of destroying the BNP single handedly!
  2. Norwood Girls School dance..... Cheers Teddy, RIP!

It is just a vague memory from a conversation I was having with a friend in Memphis about a year ago....I will google it when I get to a real computer...

Or was that due process?

I remember how well that worked in Northern Ireland!! May as well have opened recruiting offices in the high streets of every town and city!
  6. Reintroduce trial by combat, it was only abolished in 1819!!
  7. Oh, Turkey plucking on a farm, just after the throat slitty thing has happened....
  8. Working with my uncle back in the '76 Summer, taking up rubber flooring in a laundryroom, situated in a council housing estate, by curling the edge of the tiles with a blow torch and then prising them up with a shovel.... There was one tiny window in the place. Seered into my memory that one.

I think the puppet govt in Afghanistan and the control of the eventual pipeline to Pakistan from the Caspian Basin will do just as nicely!!:))
  10. I see no reason not to have an emotional response to these people. I have an emotional response to them. However, it is tempered by the fact they have the same rights I enjoy. Would I be pissed off if they marched through Wotton Bassett, absolutely. Would the Saudi's be pissed off if I counter marched at Mecca, well we will never know will we?

The consensus on the forum run for serving and ex soldiers is let them protest and treat them with the contempt they so richly deserve... You don't fight for the right of one section of society to vocalise and not another... That's not an army I would have been proud to serve in. I do not doubt this chap will cook his own goose in the fullness of time.

I tihnk you may be missing the point...the whole idea of this now banned organisation is too create rift and division, it was the objective, actually eloquently addressed by Ken Livingstone after 7/7, of the tube bombers... These lowlifes are different in only one respect, words and actions are protected under this country's democractic process and is their inalienable right to speak and march, which I through gritted teeth support. This country after a shakey start is embracing multiculturalism, it has come a very long way in my lifetime. Only in an state of anarchy could these people's view become mainstream, not that in a state of anarchy they would last long!!
  14. I realise that but I believe the end game here is to find a way of arresting the tosser and getting him off the streets...because we know he will continue to agitate under a different name. It is a game of chess, my way is simply to indulge him and hit him with public order offences under the 2006 Act. Banning the organisation is window dressing. Sorry iPhone typing
  15. It's even more simple than that, the Racial and Religious Hatred Act 2006 The bill amended the Public Order Act 1986: Section 29A Meaning of "religious hatred" In this Part "religious hatred" means hatred against a group of persons defined by reference to religious belief or lack of religious belief. Let them march and arest them....they feel everyone else lacks religious belief Poetic justice
  16. Why ban them? Why not just take their money away? I mean he cannot be out doing his best to get back into employment when he is busy being an oxygen thieving little gobshite can he? Is it not possible to draft a law along the lines of, "Acceptance of State benefits from the UK government implies an acceptance of the basic tenets of British law, including Parliamentary democracy. Any individual who can be demonstrated to be a member of an organisation that intends to overthrow that democracy, may not receive any benefits from the British Government, including health care and education provision. Members of organisations which express a desire to change the policies of the British Government through democratic means shall be exempt from this ruling."? Indeed, if he carries on and the legislation incorporates as purported that simple name changes will not be tolerated, I think the game will catch up with him and Bellmarsh will beckon and he can hang out with the real terrorists and lead them in their war on the west (at least until he gets a hook up his arse from Abu Hamza while Abu whispers 'My but you've got a purty mouth').
  17. I can tell you that customer service in North America is tiresome, the initial surprise that someone is interested in serving you soon wears thin.... Although the guys in Futureworld and Bestbuy are usually up to speed on electricals!
  18. It's been chilly in Dorset...this is the Cricket field shown in early photo!! http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/6015/wednesday016.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/6717/wednesday017.jpg

Sounds like your African chap had been on the vino too.... Should have let the police have a go, a cavity search would have been a given! Would probably have ruined the rest of his day, deservedly!
  21. I travel a lot to various parts of North America and if it speeds things up, bring it on! I am going to ask about the chances of getting too dosed up on X rays though, as a frequent flyer.
  22. Hot sasperralla in East Lane market, that bought back some childhood memories.... There used to be a shop on Walworth Road on the left heading towards Camberwell, after Browing St, but before East St, I think, which I recall being so out of place. It sold, what I guess I thought at the time was upmarket goods and furniture and it had wonderful carved chess sets in the window and what I realise now as pretty naff, an ornament with water running in droplets backlit. I used to stand for what seemed hours looknig in the window, wanting one of the chess sets...... Cheers
  23. If you go to www.faxtastic.co.uk you can set up a fax on your computer. It is free to receive them and cost 10p each page to send, you simply buy a number of credits. Used it for years... Of course, you need to be able to scan the document to your computer, it sends pdf and tiff files as I recall.
  24. Merry Christmas
  25. Saw him three times this year As I met my wife in the line up for one of his concerts he is definitely on my Xmas list He is the Boss
