  1. Yeah and where?s my fucking jetpack?
  2. Although after listening to the BRMC song after which this thread is named I have decided that it is a bit commercial and clich?d.
  3. Well put. Rock ?n Roll in its many forms is alive and well but like most good things in life it is very rarely delivered to your doorstep.
  4. Happy birthday indeed. Is it me or does this thread just go round in circles? I can't quite put my finger on it but have an uneasy sense of d?j? vu. Weird.
  5. brum Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You're a lucky man, Brendan, and you probably > don't realise it... Oh I do brum, very much so. It?s why I gloat about it.
  6. And socks, I don?t know anyone who doesn?t think that socks are a good idea.
  7. Coelacanths are the last of the clade of 4 finned fish from which the first land vertebrates evolved. They were assumed extinct until someone caught one off the coast of South Africa about seventy years ago. Although I think Englishshis nonsensicalisity comes more from it being a relatively young mishmash of much older languages with a Western Germanic grammar but a vocabulary that borrows heavily from two different major Romance influences over the last two millennia as well as two distinct branches of Celtic. Rather than it being antiquated and piscine (which is posh for old and fishy). Of course I could be completely wrong. Come to think of it this post is nothing other than a pointless aid to my own procrastination.
  8. So the term ?a living fossil? means ?baby coelacanth fish? in which language?
  9. Indeed. Where would our generation be if we hadn?t had 10 seasons of Friends to help calibrate our moral compasses?
  10. Someone had to do it didn't they. I've had that in my bloody head ever since I first read this thread this morning.
  11. Can?t say I can see a Sainsbury?s on the corner being of any use to me. Granted, I don?t actually know where the food in my house comes from, suffice to say that there seems to be a regular supply, but whenever I do need odds and ends I can generally find them at Val?s. Sometimes however I do have to go to the horrendous inconvenience of getting off the bus a couple of stops early to go to Green and Blue or Bosman?s and then walk the last ten minutes home.
  12. RosieH Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Karma shawarma... Fucking hippies! Give ?em an inch and they try to sell you a falafel.
  13. Oh please let that be real.
  14. Which sort do you miss the most, eclair, dairy milk, dairy milk with caramel, fudge, twirl, twisted, swashbuckler with ruffled shirt and pencil thin moustache, spandex clad budgie smuggler or bournville?
  15. Nah they?re overrated. Penge has a sense of humour and it hasn?t done it any bloody good now has it?
  16. I really hope that isn?t a euphemism.
  17. There are lots and lots of pub threads on here. I can?t be bothered to look ?em up right now though. I think there may even be a thread about which is the best pub thread. They all tend to end up in the conclusion that the best pub in ED is the one you think is the best.
  18. East Dulwich definitely lacks a pub where someone has seen fit to mention steampunk in the BITE review.
  19. Crown and Greyhound in Dulwich Village. So not really East Dulwich but I always think of it as such. They generally have a good selection of well kept beer. Including Meantime which is a rarity around here. It is probably too full of families and kids on the weekend for people who have the aversion. Personally I don?t mind the kids, they?re just like little drunk people.
  20. Photosynthesising termites. Now that would be some godly believing shit man.
  21. Ah well if we?re talking Royal Oak level here then I would say that this entire city only delivers a handful of pubs of that calibre. East Dulwich doesn?t but in fairness we are only an obscure corner of South East London. Although if you're looking for good beer, good atmosphere etc there's the Gowlett, the Herne, the Dog. I would love to say the CPt but they don't have any decent beer at the moment.
  22. Medley Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > at least two decent pubs; eh? Surely if there is one thing it has is enough and a diverse enough range of pubs to cater for pretty much all tastes.

There a bit in that song that goes, I don?t want a career I?ve got enough to deal with here And a shelled out my last seven bucks for beer I don?t know what the fuck to do and always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling about my younger days.

I normally don?t believe in anything released after 1999.

I actually have a compact disc somewhere with that on it. It?s a little slow mind. Was listening to this little reminder of my teenage years on the weekend. It?s from the 80s so may be a bit too current for you.
