The figure quoted on the NHS Choices site for DMC are for both surgeries in Crystal Palace Road and Chadwick Road.

Under normal circumstances, you can be removed from the list if another GP practice adds you to their list. However it's more than likely they have software issues as mentioned above.

However, Plusnet shares BT's connection for ADSL and Fibre. A list of which ISP's have LLU at the Dulwich exchange is below. https://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/LSDUL

I think people who are with DMC or MGMC think that this sub-standard GP service is the norm throughout which is far from the truth. What DMC has been doing is nothing short of a scandal, but don't let it tarnish the other NHS GP practices which are providing a normal service to patients.

Plusnet do as long as you have a landline, which can be with another provider, such as BT. Not as good as Virgin in that respect, but an option. https://www.plus.net/home-broadband/broadband-only/

306 Medical Centre on LL is a reasonable surgery. It has been slightly harder to get an appointment since the surgery at Dulwich Hospital closed. But they do try and get emergency appointments seen the same day. It's nothing like DMC or Melbourne Grove. -
369 Lordship Lane Post Office Moving
Bic Basher replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It's worth remembering that sub post offices aren't directly operated by the Post Office. What has happened I believe is that Costcutter wish to buy the franchise from 369 as they believe it'll increase the footfall in their shop. Unlike 'directly managed' branches, like 76 LL, the staff who work in them work for the sub PO business, which is normally where the PO is situated, rather than Post Office Ltd. So from May/June, the postmaster will be paid by the Costcutter franchisee. Sub post offices receive a lump sum payment towards the PO and commission from PO Ltd. -

I went into 369 LL today to renew my Bus and Tram Photocard and yet again, the guy who works there on a Saturday had no idea what to do. He told me to go to the main PO instead! They might as well close it. -

Please check buses today as there are major diversions
Bic Basher replied to KateFord's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I also noticed when I waited for a bus outside North Cross Road earlier that the 176, 185 etc are showing 20 mins on the countdown board. What happens is when the bus goes on diversion, the GPS no longer tracks the bus until it's back on route at Goose Green. -

It was also in one of the shops across the road from it's current site as well before moving into the current premises, I think in the mid 90s. -
At long last, my hot water is finally back to normal! However, I've contacted the College Ward councillors to find out more about the lack of communication between tenants/leaseholders and the council/Thames Water.

Amazing that every tenant who calls Southwark is getting a different excuse. The bathroom sink hot tap is the best out of the lot, where as the bath and kitchen sink hot taps are still too slow to have a bath or a shower.

I've spoken to the council regarding the hot water pressure issue. Everyone with the problem needs to call Southwark Housing Repairs on 0800 952 4444, option 1 then 1 again and arrange an appointment for an engineer to come in. It appears that it's trapped air in the pipes which are causing the problems after the water was cut off.

369 Lordship Lane Post Office Moving
Bic Basher replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
According to the consultation paper, it'll only have one PO booth, which matches the existing service at 369. (They have two booths, but haven't seen two on the counter since the days of the former postmistress who ran it until 2014). -

Same here. Next door neighbour is also having the same issues, I'm planning to call the council again tomorrow if the pressure doesn't return to normal.

I saw the work on Dulwich Common earlier with temporary traffic lights outside the Cricket club car park. Mains water has been fine since around 0400.

Costcutter is on the same side of the road further up by the Dulwich Library bus stop. It's on the row of shops which include Val's Grocers and Red Apple Newsagents. I'm dubious to how they'll be able to keep the post office open after 5.30pm on weekdays and the proposed Saturday and Sunday times without extra staff provision or the franchisee training up Costcutter staff to do the job which is currently managed by one person. WHSmith which has a PO franchise in Forest Hill closes at 5.30pm Mon-Sat. -
Water is now coming out of my hot water taps, but the pressure is too low to be of any use. As mentioned above, Southwark claimed in their latest text that "drinking water" has been restored.

The diverted bus routes are diverted away from Rye Lane this weekend as well, which should gain some lost time on those buses.
