I was aware of that Simon. I was.... oh never mind.

I'm aware of both of these connections, however none mentioned East Dulwich in their books and neither based any suburd they wrote about on ED,as did Wodehouse.

If it has to change name then it surely must be the Wodehouse, all else is applesauce, if not flummery.

There, I've said it.

Edited, bcause frankly one made something of a bish on a couple of words.

I mean one doesn't want to look a complete ass when one is attempting to makea serioud point.

One's not a total chump after all. Despite what Oofy Prosser might be spreading round.

The name should be the Wodehouse, no Dulwich prefix. That's all.

The only confusionn will lie with the easily confused dopey-headed c*nt community.

It's a small community, but massively confused and spectaculary dopey-headed.

As for c*ntishness, don't get me started. No, really, don't.

Scott as a mother of a young child and soon to be new aby who lives opposite the pub I would be interested to know what the opening hours will be and also what time people will be allowed outside until? Will it be a family pub like the Herne or more in keeping with the Bishop???

Hello Steph,

I won't be changing any opening hours (currently midnight sun-thurs and 1am Fri & Sat). The license states that the outside areas have to be emptied by 11 p.m.

The plan is to be more Florence than Bishop, but completely different to both (if that makes any sense). I have never received one noise complaint about The Bishop in the 5 years I've had it (if that allays any fears).

Reds, planning and licensing permitting, work should start at the end of April and take about 4 weeks.

    • I have some concerns about N East Dulwich. If there are any other N ED parents on here who feel similarly please message me. Thanks
    • Vapes aren't big yet - most people still get their Chinese B&H Gold from one of the 'barbers'. The theme park isn't a bad idea - Torbay are using their cash for an 'Agatha Christie Trail' - so it's not so far-fetched.   'One-eyed Cop Killer' Dale Cregan and, most chillingly of all, Simply Red's Mick Hucknall are also from the neck of the woods. Would you believe Hucknall's dad was an actual barber? Brian & Michael (Matchstalk Men & Matchstalk Cats & Dogs) lived at the top of my road, and were abetted by The St.Winifred's School Choir on that aberration. They, of course graduated to the unforgivable 'Theres No-one Quite Like Grandma'. A truly terrifying place.
    • Hi, our cat Gigi is missing since Thurs 25th September.    We live on Heber road - if you see her please message or call me on 07593312700 or 07877508778.   She is microchipped.   Thank you
    • Good idea for a theme park.  Obviously that would be in bad taste.  Although you can do the Jack the Ripper, Kray twins and no doubt other tours in London. Surely there are mobile/vape shops too
