Party noise Friday night/Sunday morning

I wonder if the people who had the party in the Underhill Road/Belvoir Road area have any idea how miserable it is for neighbours when fireworks start up after 10.30 at night and then music, shouting and singing carry on until the early hours. I think the plug was finally pulled about about 2.20am midway through dancing queen. I love a good party but that has to be taking it too far. I just about managed 3 hours sleep.

I've had my share of problem neighbours, but if it's a one-off or rare event, partying until 2:20am on a Fri night/Saturday morning doesn't seem to be too out of order

Agree on the fireworks though.

Cheap fireworks after 10 can only really be an irritation. Even when you're at the party.

Yeah come off it. If it's a one-off you can hardly get too annoyed. Maybe would have been nice if they pre-warned you or invited you. If they had fireworks I can only presume there was something good to celebrate. Be happy for them.

Post-11pm noise is just anti-social, inconsiderate and selfish.

If it happens again call Southwark council - they send out people to log the noise, and will then go and tell the guilty to turn the music down or be faced with a formal caution.

Jeez! It's a one-off party. Mine used to go on for days. Think yourself lucky it only finished at 2.20am. Party poopers!

Why should you have the right in a residential area to play music loud enough to disturb people in neighbouring houses (past the time allowed for pubs and public events) even if it is only one night?
