Open to Everyone reading this - EDF Drinks at the Phoenix (v1.0 georgia years)

Recommended Posts

(all the EDF drinks are open to everyone - I'm just trying to attract as many people as possible)

As discussed in the drinks @ the Actress thread, georgia is stepping down as drinks organiser (pantomime "awwwwww")

In memory of all the fine nights she has organised, we have booked the upstairs at the Phoenix (atop Denmark Hill station) for Friday november the 12th from 6:30pm* for a massive send-off (pantomime "yaaaaaaaay")

So it's not just ANY drinks. It's time to step up and buy that gal a drink. If you've been before you owe it to her, if you haven't then now's the chance

The Phoenix hosted one of the best (and busiest) forum drink nights

pics here

so it should be a grand night. See you there

* yep that's early but at this time of year the only option if we are to secure a spot

I love the Pheonix on a Friday - totally pumping! But as we have a bday drinks to attend first and there may not be room for us as we will be coming late not sure I can guarantee we will be there.. Will try to get G before we set off from Greenwich to get there..

Looking at those pics it's like OutofFocus just hung around waiting for me to make a stupid face before he clicked away! Nice.

Have put the date in the diary and will hopefully come along with a very straight face for this one.

Working late till 8.30ish , hope to pop into Phoenix on way home to stand Georgia a wee glass, although by then all may well be talking into their top pockets, but I will try.

Would love to be there from 6.30pm to have a right good kick of the baw. Trying to swap the work thing but a Friday evening shift is not top of the swap list.

Nice idea and nice post Sean, hope those people who have never been to forum drinks but are thinking about it do come along its very welcoming and fun!

Well done for getting us out of ED too :)

I will love to buy georgia a drink!

Not sure if I will be there at half six but I will likely pop in later with my mates, Terry Thomas esq and Artful D.

:)-D

Yes, should be bloomin' marvellous.

I hope to be along too with the rest of the posse.

And I'm looking forward to contributing to your state of "plasteredness" Georgia! Might well get "plastered" myself, for a change!

Well done Sean for organising (notwithstanding that I stubbornly refuse to accept that it shall be the last).

    • The banking crisis was a global event which enabled the Tories victory and to this day is somehow used against Labour  covid and furlough are under events which impacted economy.  But guess what? Not just the uk economy! energy prices a result of the Russian invasion, something Johnson said would never happen and as we seek to remove ourselves from non-renewable and Russian controlled natural resources, we have Tories and reform condemning Labour for pursuing renewables. Something most other sane countries are doing  We must also not forget the mad relative in the attic.  Brexit.  Something which contributed massively both to the black hole and to the foreseeable future lack of growth  (this is something starmer has also bizarrely tied himself to. Presumably in an attempt to placate the media/loons who think it was a good idea but which will fail in both aims)
    • Ah, so unforeseeable events didn't add to the "black hole"  Gotcha
