Hi All

Thanks for all promised donations so far. We are going to arrange a day, where you can drop all the donations off at the site or at a site for us to pick up. Will keep you all updated. We are working alongside different groups, including the hospital site managers, who need to approve everything we do. Bless them

Cheers all

Hi All

I am off on my hols next week, but would love you guys to keep this thread going. There will be someone updating the thread every so often, however can the EDF community contribute by letting us know what you would like to see in the garden. All the funding forms have now been submitted, so with love, energy and good intention, we will receive a yes, and we can get on with the South Southwark Urban physic garden.(working title:)

Thanks guys.:)-D

Hi Sue

My colleague at the vale residents association is trying to organise a day with the hospital, however I would be very surprised if it happens within the next 3 days, before I go. Do you mind holding on to them, until there is an update on this thread?

Thanks

Hi all im back from my wee little retreat. So lets get this show on the road, hopefully in the next few days, we will have the plant donation date sorted out. If its not at the hospital, then it may be a local address. However please hold on to those plants, we will have them for our new garden I promise. :)-D

Thanks for now.

Hi ED Forum

Just to let you know we have our funding from Groundwork London Yay. We will let you know in the next day or so, when the plant donation day will take place. Hopefully in the next week or so, and then we can get on with getting the project started. Hopefully all this lovely weather will last:)-D

Hi All further update, We now have the Support of Southwark PCT, who are very interested in the project, and you may see work start as soon as November. Watch this space and that space at the hospital. Hopefully we will see plenty of plants at the donation day. Its all so very exciting. :)-D

Hi Guys dont forget plant donation day is this Saturday

at 59 Melbourne Grove, East Dulwich, London SE22 8RG 11am-4pm

Thanks again in advance for all your donations, hopefully we will have lots of different plants. We have funding, however not as much as we originally thought, so we really need that community spirit and action to kick in. :)-D

Cheers Chaps

Hi All, have just been told about the traffic gridlock on Melbourne grove, due to roadworks. We may have to change the date, however Heather will be there, so if you wish to walk round with your donations, please do. Watch this space for

for a second plant donation date.

Thanks

Hi All hopefully your green fingers have been busy with the plants you are donating tomorrow. Heather and colleagues are looking forward to meeting you lovely community spirited people

Thanks again:)-D

    • @Earl, Be assured, it is purely a local group. In fact it is a genteel group of Dulwich area residents, mostly ladies , who are a little  reluctant to publish their individual names as they do not wish to be targets for hostility from internet trolls. Local residents who attended the anti-LTN gatherings in Dulwich would have easily recognised the active members of the group. Should you have any queries about funding, it is quite easy to send them an email.
    • Hi  I have a spare old wheelbarrow that you could have for free. You’d need to come and collect it from Telegraph Hill, so drop me a message if you’re still looking and we can arrange a time best wishes carrie
    • This is quite a serious allegation. What evidence is there of this? Pressured how and by whom? This is quite a spin on ‘it’s been agreed with the emergency services’. They think the vehicles pictured driving through with partially covered plates are the result of ‘poor signage’ 🤔  If it is as they say ‘small numbers’ driving through the square, that doesn’t suggest that the signage is unclear. I mean who honestly believes it’s possible to drive through there without noticing the signs / planters (assuming you’re driving with due care and attention)?! 🤨  Also, haven’t ‘One’ opposed any improvements to the layout / landscaping and signage proposed by Southwark? It’s all a bit desperate. At the height of the LTN ‘controversy’ a number of co-ordinated ‘One’ groups popped up across London. It doesn’t feel like a local grassroots movement, but has all the hallmarks of astroturfing. The lack of transparency about it’s funding / sponsorship and structure does not help with this impression.
    • Hi there, My children and I are adopting 4 ex-battery hens and seeking a secondhand home for them, let me know if you have anything, of any style that might fit four feathered ladies in. I can collect at your convenience this weekend or during the week.    Warmest, Hannah
