Jah Lush
As I started the first one. I'll start this one off too. The old one has had it.Disappointed in England's performance on Saturday but I'm off to Wembley for the game against Belarus and there'd better be a vast improvement. Isn't it time Ferdinand was dropped? Certainly if Ledley King was fully fit he'd be in there challenging for his place as on his day he's the best centre-half in the country. matthew123
I'd keep playing Ferdinand until he is totally broken - but that is from a selfish Liverpool fan ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/#findComment-480855 Share on other sites

In fact I believe he's scored more times for Spurs than he has for Liverpool. :))(tu) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/#findComment-480858 Share on other sites
red devil
Rio looks off the pace. He should be dropped for Belarus and Utd's game at the weekend in order to sort out this injury in time for the 'pool game. Enjoy the match Jah... Annasfield
I've noticed that a load of old threads have disappeared now. Like reading through the old FF threads - hope they don't disappear now. ratty
They will sadly drop off the end of the forum and into cyber oblivion. Not looking forward to Saturday. Seeing that smug crook back down at FP is going to turn many a stomach. Oh, and if he thinks that the SAS will protect him from the three digits he has another thunk coming! ;)My prediction? Pompey -7 Tottenham 9 sadly! :( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/#findComment-480861 Share on other sites

Annasfield
I was looking for something the other day and noticed that a load of threads from 2007 were no longer there. mockney piers
Really? I know the search can be a bit tempremental, but no threads are deleted unless they were particulalry naughty. Nothing should just drop off. Unless the hosts had a bit of an accident doing some DB maontenamnce and failed to mention it. matthew123
Please stay on topic ;-)On another note, Rafa is now paying the price for being like a cold fish with other Managers - whilst the injured Torres and Gerrard are being kept on international duty the likes of Rooney and Xavi have been released back to their Clubs. Having said that we beat Man U last season without them and we do play better as a team without a focal point (as Man U will eventually find without Ronaldo). Sandperson
I read that Del Bosque had promised not to play Torres if he wasn't 100%. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/#findComment-480866 Share on other sites
matthew123
I read that as well - but the fact Spain have already qualified and they were concerned enough to give him a scan suggests that they should have taken same precautions as with Puyol and Xavi and send him back to his Club for any necessary treatment. With the number of injuries he picked up on international duty last season I am bracing myself for him returning unable to play at Sunderland this Saturday. Annasfield
Apparently Gerrard limped out of training earlier today. Not impressed Mr Cappello. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/#findComment-480868 Share on other sites
Mick Mac
i hazard a guess he will be fine for the weekend anna. Maybe limping off under instruction from rafaEven. capello cant make someone play if he pretends he is injured and i hope its nothing more than that. davy watts
I don't think Ferdinand should be dropped on the back of a couple of mistakes. He is proven quality and should therefore be allowed to play himself back into form. His mistakes are of judgement as opposed to a loss of pace or technique. Form is temporary and class is permanent. Sandperson
Steady on Davy, you won't make yourself popular with the ABUs round here. ;)I happen to agree and not just because he's United. He's the best option in that position for the international side. Keef
I actually agree too that he is still our best option. I strongly disagree however, that a class player should never be dropped. Doesn't much matter for this match, but if we needed a win, I'd not want any player who was in poor form playing, if we had the back up of another player who was doing well. matthew123
I think Rio and Terry are the best English centre backs by a country mile. Now is not the time to swap horses. davy watts
I'm certainly not advocating that you can never drop a class player who is in bad form. But this only is an option if you have a like for like replacement.I don't really feel England have adequate cover in this position as I think Ferdinand on a bad day is still better then Lescott or Upson on a good. Sandperson
Anna, did you see the reports about Rafa wanting Gerrard to explain why he didn't leave the England camp when he got his groin strain? It doesn't sound like the England camp were the ones keeping him.
