As I started the first one. I'll start this one off too. The old one has had it.

Disappointed in England's performance on Saturday but I'm off to Wembley for the game against Belarus and there'd better be a vast improvement. Isn't it time Ferdinand was dropped? Certainly if Ledley King was fully fit he'd be in there challenging for his place as on his day he's the best centre-half in the country.

For the same reason I'd keep Jamie Carragher playing for Liverpool especially as he always seems to score for Spurs when you play us. In fact I believe he's scored more times for Spurs than he has for Liverpool. :))(tu)

They will sadly drop off the end of the forum and into cyber oblivion.

Not looking forward to Saturday. Seeing that smug crook back down at FP is going to turn many a stomach. Oh, and if he thinks that the SAS will protect him from the three digits he has another thunk coming! ;)

My prediction? Pompey -7 Tottenham 9 sadly! :(

Please stay on topic ;-)

On another note, Rafa is now paying the price for being like a cold fish with other Managers - whilst the injured Torres and Gerrard are being kept on international duty the likes of Rooney and Xavi have been released back to their Clubs. Having said that we beat Man U last season without them and we do play better as a team without a focal point (as Man U will eventually find without Ronaldo).

I read that as well - but the fact Spain have already qualified and they were concerned enough to give him a scan suggests that they should have taken same precautions as with Puyol and Xavi and send him back to his Club for any necessary treatment. With the number of injuries he picked up on international duty last season I am bracing myself for him returning unable to play at Sunderland this Saturday.
I don't think Ferdinand should be dropped on the back of a couple of mistakes. He is proven quality and should therefore be allowed to play himself back into form. His mistakes are of judgement as opposed to a loss of pace or technique. Form is temporary and class is permanent.
I actually agree too that he is still our best option. I strongly disagree however, that a class player should never be dropped. Doesn't much matter for this match, but if we needed a win, I'd not want any player who was in poor form playing, if we had the back up of another player who was doing well.
I'm certainly not advocating that you can never drop a class player who is in bad form. But this only is an option if you have a like for like replacement.I don't really feel England have adequate cover in this position as I think Ferdinand on a bad day is still better then Lescott or Upson on a good.

    • I'd have thought they could use some of  their income from hiring out a large part of Brockwell Park in the summer (therefore, as I understand it, preventing local residents from using much of it) to put on a firework display there  in the autumn which might somewhat make up to those residents for the previous loss of use of the park. And also generate goodwill.
    • Clicking on your name, I see you've made seven posts on here since you joined  around four years ago, and they've all been about local libraries. And none of the posts are  very pleasant. Care to share with the rest of us where  your particular interest in libraries comes from? Do you work in one of them?
    • Kam was with us last week to wallpaper a bedroom. He was a pleasure to deal with and did a fantastic job - very neat and matched the tricky pattern very well. Would certainly use again.
    • What a bunch of pieholes. 2025 and you peasants have nothing to be grateful for. I have been inside the library recently and honestly the old girl is crying for a facelift, the goddamn carpet looks like it survived the world war and some. The Library is one of the oldest in Southwark and you are crying about a study place? What a bunch of bullshit. You have libraries all around you for your kids to go their studying you rotten sausage. How about be happy that the library is going to look absolutely stunning rather than be a whining bitch about it   Also, I have been told that the staffs have to work in the smaller libraries together. How do you think they feel?
