Man & Van Removals (Insured)

Called Frank this morning at 9am and he was able to fit in me in for 11am...even I wasn't expecting that so soon!

Frank went over and above He helped me move a couch to my place, and when it couldn't go through the door, he patiently removed all the seat legs and the door and got it in...and then proceeded to replace them all...all in time for me to make it back to the city for my meetings. First class service! Will be recommending him to everyone I know.

I would like to recommend Frank, the man with a van. He helped us with a last minute request to move and transport a really heavy and bulky metal bike shed from Herne Hill to Nunhead, which required lifting over garden walls and other obstacles. He did a great job, without little fuss, arrived on time and was really friendly.

We'd like to recommend Frank as well. Last night we needed to bring a huge bed to our flat and he helped us bring it down from a 1st floor and then up again all the way to our flat, not only was he incredibly helpful, but also a lovely man.

Thanks Frank!

I would like to add another high recommendation for Frank.

He helped us move house last weekend and was incredibly helpful.

He does it the "old fashioned way" as I like to call it, i.e. none of that "I can't do this, I can't do that", he just helps you move your stuff and wastes no time either!

Besides being efficient he is also absolutely lovely indeed, a very pleasant man. And very reliable.

I needed to phone him again two days ago, a bit of a last minute thing with a heavy item for this morning and although he had been working until very very late yesterday night, there he was today at 7:30am as agreed.

Seriously, look no further, I will never use anyone else again.

Frank is THE man with a van.

Another recommendation for Frank and his van from me.

He is efficient and timely, and arrived exactly when he said he would. He drove me all the way to West London and back and helped carrying an awkward piece of furniture.

His prices are very reasonable and he told me the charges upfront. He also texted me the night before the job to confirm.

He's a very capable and safe driver. I noticed how he never cuts in on the road, always defers to others.

I would completely recommend Frank to anyone. You are in safe hands, phone him with complete confidence.

I'm off to warmer climes and would like to take this opportunity to thank my edf customers, old and new, for being so helpful and friendly (and generous) throughout the year. Thankfully, I've had no non-payers this year!

I'll be back in the late spring but should you need a man and van service in the interval, I highly recommend James from little green man and van, on 02078713030. He's truly excellent but try to book early, if you can.

Thanks again, Frank.

I'm happy to say that I'm back at work (!) and will endeavour to do my very best to provide a useful man and van service to forum members. My rate remain the same (?25/hr local) and the ?15 'single' item, local quick drop is still on offer. Regards, Frank. 07956 650744.

Frank helped me move an entire van full of my stuff at the weekend. Not only did he work hard and we got it completed in 2 hours, at the point when I was convinced we weren't going to get my sofa through the front door, he convinced me to give it one more go and with his experience found the wriggle room to get it through.

Very good, very professional with a large van. All my items were delivered safely and he took care to ensure any glass was wrapped properly and securely within the van.

Have already recommended him to one of my friends who has booked him for this weekend.

Cheers Frank.

So glad this forum led us to Frank - the best 'man and van' we've ever found! We contacted him to help us move some stuff to a storage depot (while we do some decorating) and found him totally reliable. He texted to confirm his arrival time and arrived on the dot. His calm competence was a handy counterbalance to our stress! A lovely man - and very reasonable rates.

You can reach him on 07956 650 744

I also can't recommend Frank highly enough. I am so glad I found him through here. He was endlessly patient when I kept texting him with changing pick up information while trying to secure a mattress and bed from different addresses on here. He was punctual, helpful, friendly and polite - a really nice genuine guy at a really reasonable price. He even texted when he was on his way, and when he'd picked the stuff up, letting me know exactly how long he'd be. Great guy.

I have used Frank for jobs for home and work and recommend him highly. He is a lovely man, very nicely turned out and his van is very clean with lots of padding to protect valuables, he is very punctual, kind and works fast and efficiently, which also makes him great value.

Frank was available last-minute for a house move on the same day when someone else failed to come through. Frank provided extremely careful, considerate, professional help. He knew exactly how to pack the van most efficiently and helped with all the heavy labour as well, for a very good price.

I recommend him very enthusiastically.

A massive thank you to Frank, after been let down earlier today with a pre arranged pick up I texted Frank on the back of this thread, he responded immediately, and managed to do the pick up this evening for me.

Absolutely recommend Frank to other forumites.

We used Frank for the second time recently and once again he impressed us; treating a single-item job as seriously and professionally as if it was a full removal (texting his arrival time, etc). What's more, when sudden complications arose at the drop-off address, he was unflappable kindness personified - and went way beyond the call of duty to help out, without charging any more. Can't recommend him highly enough.

I keep meaning to come on here to recommend Frank. We used him twice a few weeks ago, and were really impressed by how reliable and helpful he was. He fitted us in at the last minute, and we had a particularly tricky job with a very heavy item that he helped us with the last time. He was well prepared (had some tools with him and helped us take it apart a bit, as well as lending my husband some gloves!) and didn't complain at all about shifting it up and down stairs. Really nice guy and a great service.

    • That's actually why the Sherlock Holmes stories were so popular. There was so little crime people found it exciting to imagine robberies and murders happening in London.
    • Yes, because of course there were no violent robberies in the olden days. Pretty much no crime happened at all I believe through the entire Victorian era.
    • Hi all, Im a Southwark council leaseholder and live downstairs in a ground floor flat, there is one flat above me, it's a house with individual front doors leading from the street into the shared pathway. My neighbour told me he has had a ring doorbell installed, no discussion as to how I would feel being on camera everytime I go in and out or in my front garden. I was told it's only for deliveries and doesn't record and only activates when pressed, however I don't know this and I feel really uncomfortable everytime I'm out in garden or on doorstep talking to people. Everytime I walk in/out, it lights up and in the eve it has a  infra red  light. Now I've read up that as he said its only for deliveries, he could set it so it only activates when pressed, however it activates with its motion sensor. Had he said to me about getting it installed, I could have had the opportunity to ask about it recording etc but nothing except it's being installed and when I arrived home it was there. I don't like being horrible to people however I feel I have not been considered in his decision and I feel very uncomfortable as, some times I have to stand on doorstep to get signal for my mobile and I really don't like the idea of being watched and listened to. Has anyone got any advice as I'm beginning to get angry as I've asked about it once and was told it only activates when pressed. I believe this is not true. I know southwark council say you need to ask permission to make sure the neighbours are OK with it, I don't really want to go down that road but I don't know how to approach the subject again. They also put a shed approx 3 foot from my back room window, these places are built so my window faces their rear garden and there upstairs window  faces mine. They said it's there temporarily, that was over a year ago and it does affect the light, plus I'm hoping to sell up soon and the view from window is mainly a dark brown shed. When I've mentioned this, I was told they have no where else to put it, whereas originally they said its only temporary, Also the floorboards above are bare and I get woke early morning and at night, the thudding is so bad my light shakes and window rattles, so I mentioned this and asked if they have rugs, I was told when they get the boards re sanded they will get rugs, I should have asked if they could get rugs and just take them up when boards being done, which I would have done had it been me living above someone, their attitude was I can just put up with it until they are ready. so they had the floor boards done, and the workmen was hammering screws, yes screws, in the floorboards, I spoke to workmen to ask how much longer and they said yes, are using screws to make less noise! I could hear the cordless screwdriver, not an issue but for every screw there were at least 8 whacks, the owners had gone out to avoid the noise  so I  spoke to workmen as the noise was unbearable, the sanding, not an issue at all, people need to get things done to their home and I'm fine that on occasions there will be temporary noise. now I have a nice crack on my bedroom ceiling, I mentioned this to owner but no response, he said there were alot of loose floorboards and it will be much better now, not so noisy, as though I don't know the difference between squeaking floor boards and thudding, and nothing was mentioned re the crack or that they now have rugs, which if it were me, I'd be trying to resolve the issue so we can get on with feeling happy in our homes. so I'm feeling it's a total lack of consideration. these places are old and Edwardian and I've lived here over 40 years, had 4 different neighbours and it's only now the noise of thudding is really bad and the people before had floorboards but nothing like this. As you can probably tell I'm really wound up and I don't want to end up exploding at them, I've always got on with neighbours and always said if there's a problem with my dog, pls let me know, always tell me, however I feel it's got to the point where I say something and I'm fobbed off. I know I should tell them but I'm angry, perhaps I should write them a letter. Any suggestions greatly appreciated and thank you for reading my rant.
