Indeed. The link between art techniques and sex crimes is well documented.

He admits to having sex with the daughter's friend and even wrote a partial confession to her dad when he realised she'd been scared of him, but said it wasn't when she was 13 - 19, as she says, it was when she was legal and it was consenting.

Horrible to think he's a nonce, but it looks like he was/is.

Agree.

I vaguely remember watching his TV programmes as a child where he did some amazing paintings, but only began liking him as a presenter when he started doing 'Animal Hospital'. He came across as being so compassionate and caring. Also when presenting the more recent 'Rolf's animal clinic'.

As an animal lover myself, I admired him for his dedication. It was as if it really meant something to him other than just fronting a TV show.

Really hope it's all a mistake but not very likely judging by what has been written in the press.

Actually, the letter isn't at all incriminating as the papers are making it out to be. It admits an affair, but reiterates that she was of age at the time. The Gruiniad published it in full here...

How did Rolf and co get away with it? I think Roald Dahl summed it up in Matilda.

?How can she get away with it?? Lavender said to Matilda. ?Surely the children go home and tell their mothers and fathers. I know my father would raise a terrific stink if I told him the Headmistress had grabbed me by the hair and slung me over the playground fence.?

?No he wouldn?t,? Matilda said, ?and I?ll tell you why. He simply wouldn?t believe you.?

?Of course he would.?

?He wouldn?t,? Matilda said. ?And the reason is obvious. Your story would sound too ridiculous to be believed. And that is the Trunchbull?s great secret? Never do anything by halves if you want to get away with it. Be outrageous. Go the whole hog. Make sure everything you do is so completely crazy it?s unbelievable. No parent is going to believe this pigtail story, not in a million years. Mine wouldn?t. They?d call me a liar.?

    • To be honest, pal, it's not good being a fan of a local business and then not go there. One on hand, the barber shop literally next door to Romeo Jones started serving coffee. The Crown and Greyhound and Rocca serve coffee. Redemption Coffee opened up not far away, and then also Megan's next door to that. DVillage was serving coffee (but wasn't very popular), as was Au Ciel (which is). Maybe also Heritage Cheese, I don't know. There's also Flotsam and Jetsam doing coffee and sandwiches at Dulwich Picture Gallery in the other direction. The whole of Dulwich Village serves coffee. And yet on the other hand, there are enough punters to support all good coffee shops. With the exception of Rocca and Megan's (which are both big spaces) and C&G (which does coffee like everything else - slow and with bad service), all these places regularly get queues out the door. Gail's often has big queues and yet very few people crossed the street to Romeo Jones (which was much better)... Half the staff at Gail's are perfectly fine and efficient. The other half are pretty offhand and rude. It's certainly not welcoming or friendly service. But they're certainly hard working, and no doubt raking the money in for Luke Johnson...
    • Well according to a newspaper article, Gail’s is opening 10 shops in London,,, yup Dulwich is named 10/5 I seem to recall with others in London opening at 7 am…!, Guess that is to capture workers coming off all night shift. Offering free mince pies until they run out.. So very sad to hear about Romeo Jones… been a customer since the opening, any idea where Patrick has gone or details… please pm me.    What is going to be in its place…. Will be around in Jan…umm village is changing….
    • interesting the police said "the car was in demand at the moment" what make/model is that?
    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
