London Bridge (Southern) station is closed for nine days from Saturday 23rd to Sunday 31st August 2014. Trains from East Dulwich will start and finish at South Bermondsey during this period. This will be very disruptive to people travelling to the City and Canary Wharf. Suggest anybody not on holiday that week goes to www.tfl.gov.uk and replans their journey.

The number 40 bus goes direct from East Dulwich to London Bridge. Also worth getting the East London Line from Denmark Hill or Brockley to Canada Water for Canary Wharf (there'll be extra services from Brockley). The 42 bus from Sunray Avenue is also a good link to City Hall, Tower Hill, Aldgate and Liverpool Street.

Thanks. At least as significant seems to be that during the evening peak - from 1600-1900 - the number of trains from London Bridge to Peckham Rye / East Dulwich has been reduced to 4 per hour from 6 per hour. The remaining ones are not spaced evenly either, with 20 minute gaps between some trains.

More through platforms, less terminating platforms.

Well spotted, thanks for sharing the link. However, from reading the document it appears slightly differently.

7:31 is the time of the train departing West Croydon. This is the 08:00 service from East Dulwich which will still run but then terminate at South Bermondsey.

8:15 is the time of the train departing Beckenham Junction, which is the 08:40 service from East Dulwich. This also will terminate at South Bermondsey.

As djaq2000 pointed out, there's also the loss of the 17:20, 17:50, 18:20 and 18:50 from London Bridge (which will start at South Bermondsey). However, the other services out of London Bridge have been slightly retimed in order to spread the load.

Not so much impact if you are connecting to other services before LBG, but if your commute is from Dulwich to London Bridge, then that's a sizeable impact. The key peak services now will be:

No you don't get charged extra as Clapham High Street / Clapham North is classed as an Out of Station Interchange (OSI). In fact going this route is likely to be cheaper than going by London Bridge National Rail. So Denmark Hill - Moorgate for example is on Oyster PAYG ?4.10 peak and ?3.50 off peak going by National Rail at London Bridge but go via Clapham High Street / Clapham North it is ?2.80 peak and ?2.20 off peak. So if you currently do East Dulwich to somewhere in the City might be worth going to Denmark Hill instead

    • I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Yousef and his team for my recent house move in East Dulwich. Downsizing and relocating  my stuff from a house to a flat was made a calm and pleasant experience. The move included large and heavy items of furniture, taking items apart and reassembling in the new place, as well as loads of boxes. Nothing was too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend this service, you will not be disappointed!

    • The GM's in Dulwich has been gone for around 3 years, so the most recent post must be about the Crystal Palace branch, I presume the same staff moved over? I've been going to Tash at Kuki for a while, never had a problem.
