Hop, Burns and Black is replacing the laundromat. Sounds great fun, although I was rather crossing fingers that a bar/restaurant would retain the laundromat name and signage - something catchy about it, I thought. No idea what if anything is replacing Ken's.

This is great news. We could do with a good food market, North Cross Road is nice but not enough food for sale there.

Good to hear and can't wait to try it out. I've been looking for a dog vase for quite some time. Ideally in the form of a Skye Terrier?

In fact the perfect day for me would be hair cut at Blue Tit, a beer and a game of space invaders at The Four Quarters, Gowlettini pizza and more ales at The Gowlett, the hot sauce place then the dog shop for said Skye Terrier vase. I'd then round everything off with a stiffener at House of Tippler.

Also a new Vietnamese place in the bussey - Banh Banh. I think they have been running about a month and are located next to rye wax - who do 2 for 1 cocktails between 6-8pm. Not sure if it is just a pop up or a permanent fixture, but the food I had today at their nunhead bite stall was nice.

The PO is staying in the current premises, while the retail shop is gradually moving across to the shop on the corner of Landells Road, next to Uden's funeral directors. They should be out by the end of the month.

Not a restaurant but Ali Baba's juices on rye lane just in the lane next to the bussey building is great - he uses the adventurous fruits (dudhi fruit anyone?)from the mkt to make delish concoctions as well as some more regular juices.

Ali is a super nice fella as well

Ali Baba juice is REALLY good (and they do "normal" juices too if you don't fancy the exotic concoctions). And Four Quarters sometimes do cocktails based on Ali Baba juices (not sure if that's a permanent thing or not).

Also the little curry stand/shack thing next door is pretty good... they make the naan fresh on the spot.

Personally I only use ED for eating/drinking and food shopping. I'm not really interested in clothes/fashion, if I need something I'll either buy it online or pop into one of the shops near my office.

Anyway... a men's clothes shop? Correct me if I'm making incorrect assumptions, but I don't think they'd do much trade during the week.

    • No, you didn’t write the article. But unless you’re a Telegraph subscriber, you haven’t read the article either. Have you read it? The psychopath Telegraph lives behind a (rubber) paywall but using this kind of sensationalist, accusatory headline gets it traction on social media. The headline becomes more important than the article; many will see it and some will take it as a statement of fact. And it will be shown on endless “let’s take a look at the papers” segments on TV and radio for 12 hours or more in every news day. And so, a tiny number of reactionary, right wing hacks has a vastly disproportionate influence on the popular conversation despite the papers they work for being bought by almost nobody these days.
    • Trelco are wonderful. James has been super reliable and they are a gem to have around us locally. Trust them completely, will give honest advice and have very fair pricing for all small work around the house or bigger plumbing projects. I've used them multiple times and they will always find the time to help, even when they are busy they will pop round to make sure we aren't stranded which is a nice touch.
    • "attack on the tax", I posted a link, how was that an attack? I didn't write the article, so how was that an attack on the proposed tax?  Are you now saying what can and cannot be posted, when did you become Admin(NOT).
