Those ones in Peckham have been weird and crap for as long as I can remember. Although I do remember being in them a lot as a kid, so maybe they had some useful stalls.

The E&C one is like a timewarp back to the 80s. All very odd. But there is some tasty food to be had.

I quite like the tat but not going to pay ?30-40 for an old OXO tin if you get my drift.

Even if that's what they go for.

I do not consider a Dog in a Bun as Street food. Perhaps it's not meant to be.

I suppose if you are out for the day/few hours with the kids then it might suffice.

But if you live 300 yards away and walk through there 4-6 times on a Sat. One is hardly

likely stop of and buy anything when you can eat at home.

I buy Tea from the Tiger Tea tea man but he is not there very often.

Other than that I have no bicycle to repair. Think that guy does a good service.

Miss the Photographer guy that used to be outside Clippers.

Used to stop and have a chat. Knowledgeable guy.

The photographer was a good bloke. He's moved to the Isle of Wight but I think he does Northcote Rd market on Saturdays if you fancy hopping on the 37.

Aww I remember those "stay on topic" days. I was often drifting off into my own world straying into the realms of posh prams and daffodils. It seems I'm often the one clutching at straws using the stay on topic line myself when I'm back into a corner or made to feel guilty for occasionally talking about issues that concern me (street food, class, iceland). The term street food is just a hyped up London media-type bubble phrase thrown into the mix to make shit food sound cool. Reminds me of the Harry Enfield 'I saw you coming' clip.

Sadly not. He upped sticks and moved back to Australia a while back. He sold his stand to lovely lady who was a fan and who keeps The Dog father Diner going to this day with many of Coopers original recipes.

Down on Rye Lane:

K&S Arcade next to Khans, soon to be renamed Holdron's Arcade, is being populated with new businesses such as YAM Records (vintage and new release), Nest (clothing), Love (african textiles), Bussey Exchange (shopfront for the artists and makers in the Bussey), and Peckham Vision where you can go to find out what's in store for the redevelopment of the area e.g. the station area, the multi-story & Morrison's carparks, plus the idea for the Green Line walkway - it's a great chance to get involved and have some say in the future shape of the area.

Downstairs in the Bussey Basement is a bar, Bhan Bhan Thai street food, and vinyl sales.

About 1/2 way back down the side of the Bussey where the carpark opens up, there's Taste of Christmas - bar with food. Early days, they are using this time before Christmas to see what works, what doesn't. It's also got an events space.

The transformation of the Discount Decorating premises into a pub of the Antic persuasion is underway.

    • Another recommendation for Niko. Great communication, top guy, and super reliable and skilled - all at a fair price. Takes a lot of care in what he does and talks you through everything.
    • Some foxes are very tame. The foxes that live near the electricity sub-station thing on the corner of Calton and Woodwarde will happily walk up to you/passed you. They are some of the best looking foxes around so clearly being well-fed - glorious coats and bushy tails but interested in humans and keen to engage/be fed rather than being scared.
