Got back last night from a weekend in Mcr and 'that game'. General consensus from Utd fans was that the scousers have probably done us a favour in the long run, we were starting to look complacement, especially against Inter.

It's funny being away and coming back to see all the comments, especially the anti-Utd ones. Ratty's right, it goes with the territory, and long may it continue. What amazes me though is so called fans who trash Utd first before praising their own team. I'm not going to waste my time responding to the Munich poster, other than to say big respect to the posters who trashed him..(tu) It is indeed a beautiful Spring day, top of the league by 4 points with a game in hand, and Fulham lined up next...

Form says beat Real Madrid then... put United back in their box. Villa have buckled under the pressure, as I predicted last month, on Sunday they also need a result so could be a very entertaining match at Anfield.

As for 'wake up call' to United ... I think more like wake up call to the opposition who they will play. Liverpool didn't reach the same levels as against Real Madrid but they were still strong enough to neutralise United's midfield and thus cut off the supply line upfront.

I wonder if Wenger feels like a dumb arse for saying United were untouchable!?

Great w/e of sporting action, Liverpool were a joy to watch Arsenal back on form. England smashing France was tops as I work with 2 french guys. Now West Ham have paid off Sheff Utd ?15-?25 mio if we win tonight thats 42 points and safe.Happy me Irons.

I think I might have touched a few raw nerves there...

It is strange how there appear to be two different versions as to how much WHU are paying Sheffield United. Most papers say ?15 million, paid over five years. However both the Times & Observer say ?10 million now, and ?15 million over five years. The settlement details are supposed to be confidential, so it looks like two separate leaks. Goodness knows which, if any, is accurate.

Edited to add that Yorkshire Post changed the figure to ?25 million from ?15 million too at 11.30am...hmmm

I watched a bit of the game last night and felt bad that quids gave up an evening to go and see it

then I read about Warnock and couldn't believe it. Then I thought, no I CAN believe it

So then I watched Stewart Lee's new show on BB2 and all was ok again.

Disgusted with myself for losing, albeit "small" on that West Ham/WBA game last night as I was certain it would be very low-scoring.

West Ham's makeshift front 3 can't possibly cut it and I was so angry with going with WBA as they were handed the match ona plate and were so lacking in confidence and frankly, useless that they could not take advantage of a side who could have played all night and not scored.

What a contrast to the wondrous West Ham/WBA game I went to with Hursty/Peters/Mooreo and Astle/Bomber Brown for The Albion...6/1 and it could have been 11/3....modern football, eh?

According to various reports, Fergie refused to speak with Sky before and after the game on Saturday as he believes they are responsible for the scheduling of the game which meant Pool had one more day to prepare for the game. Is this a little like the time he blamed the colour of the away kit for the mancxs being on the wrong end of a hiding against Southampton some years back.I think he also forgot to mention the fact that there was a Y in the day, which went against them. JEEZ!!!!! And I thought Le Prof griping about Sunderlands performance against us smacked of sour grapes!!!!

    • Unless we don't fly I don't think we can be too critical of the authorities.
    • In 2016 London City Airport began using concentrated flight paths. When there's a predominantly westerly wind, incoming aircraft approach from East London (north of the River). When there's a predominantly Easterly wind, incoming aircraft approach the airport from the West: circling through Forest Hill, Dulwich, Vauxhall, Tower Hamlets, Docklands. This latter flight path affects many of us in South East London. https://www.london.gov.uk/who-we-are/what-london-assembly-does/questions-mayor/find-an-answer/london-city-airport-concentrated-flight-paths The planes going into City are often below 2,000 ft, so very noisy. Sometimes we have incoming Heathrow at the same time, flying higher. The early flights that I hear e.g. 04:30 are incoming to Heathrow. They are scheduled to land at 05:30 but are 'early'. Apparently the government allows a percentage of flights to arrive early and late (but these are now established as regular occurrences, informally part of the schedule). IMHO Londoners are getting very poor political representation on this issue. Incredible that if you want to complain about aircraft noise, you're supposed to contact the airport concerned! Preposterous and designed solely in favour of aviation expansion.
    • Yet another recommendation for Jafar. Such a nice guy, really reliable and fair. He fixed a problem with our boiler and then incredibly kindly made two more visits to replace a different part at no extra cost.
    • I didn't have any problems with plane noise until city airport started flying planes to and from about 5-8 minutes apart from 5.30 am or  6 am,  and even with ear plugs and double glazing I am woken at about 6 well before I usually would wake  up. I have lived here since 1986 and it is relatively recently that the planes have been flying far too low over East dulwich. I very much doubt that they are headinbg to Heathrow or from Heathrow. As the crow flies we are much , MUCH closer to City Airport than Heathrow or Gatwick. I even saw one flying so low you could see all the windows, when I was in Peckham Rye Park.
