too late for you but I adore Simon the Tanner. Gorgeous back street boozer away from the hustle & bustle of Bermondsey St and a great menu.

This makes me very happy. Lived just up the road from Simon the Tanner before we made the move here - through a few difficult incarnations, including an attempted freeholder redevelopment to residential based on ridiculous grounds (from memory). Good to hear it's doing well.

The Royal Oak on Tabard Street round the corner also used to be great for unfussy pub food and beer - doubt it's changed much since we left.

When we left it seemed to have not changed since the late 80's. Great neighbourhood pub but not a really a destination..

    • Hello.   Thanks Nigel and Hparker 😀   I've got new slots available for new students looking for a piano teacher or guitar teacher.   You could start in the new term beginning September, or I'm also available adhoc-styles through the summer holidays at times.   I teach all ages, in most styles, in lots of different ways according to how you learn/like to learn.   Give me a call or text on 07730 402336.   I have connections to lots of performance opportunities/networks too.   I run regular events /student concerts, and play in bands/perform.   Natalie.
    • So do I, but I think they are in trouble as well.  Anyway, that space wouldn't be big enough.
    • I'm not talking about Starmer. I was responding to a post which  said that  Corbyn was unelectable. How people voted in the "more hotly contested election" is irrelevant. Corbyn wasn't leading the Labour Party then. Starmer was. And the turnout for Labour reflects that.
