Agree with just about everybody on all sides of the debate on this one. Mainly looking forward to he next private eye which should unearth a torrent of hypocrisy form the journos and more particularly from their tax dodging proprieters. Still, broken system or no this has done a greAt deal to tarnish the integrity of our lords and masters which was already at an all time low and some of them really should hang their heads in shame, especially the flippers and double for those who flipped second home to Coastal cottage.

Look I'm a politics graduate. Go and consult a medic if you want an accurate pictorial description of various nursing staff.

Now leave me and the delectable Julia Goldsworthy MP in peace.

And Brendan, she may not have a "lovely pear" but I believe she's raised eyebrows in Black Rod's office.

How about the Olympic Village when the athletes have gone...bung the twats in Stratford, Jubilee stright into Westminster. Plus, David, you talked earlier about insecurity of job.for MPS!!!!..Us in the Private Sector would love 5 year guaranteed contracts, with plenty of perks and non-compulsory attendance.....

Us in the Private Sector would love 5 year guaranteed contracts, with plenty of perks and non-compulsory attendance.....

And a pension that would cost ?30,000 a year to provide in "civilian" life - and a bit more now that Gordon and his friend Alistair have decided to tax pension contributions for high"ish" earners.

...you happy with what they are doing with our money....or are you just above all this annoyance and petit borgeois anger? I know many poeple who work bleedin' hard for bugger all and whose taxes shouldn't go on John Prescott's bog, but they are just ordinary non-metropolitan people...who probably read the Daily Mail or even The Sun....

Dont mean to be antagonistic Mr Punt , but when things are pootling along nicels ( eg for most of the pats decade ) , house prices and your equity are rising monthly, youer job is secure, you have a new car, fat telly & can afford a nice extra winter sunhsine break , I never saw many people complaining about kieth vaz caning ?1K on silk cushions

maybe Vaz is a bad example - hes hardly free of scandal and hints of corruption is he ....

Come Friday night the liberals are going to start to get battered....this is going to run through to Monday. Good source tells me nobody will escape and that some of the expenses are so embarrassing they are being urged to hold back. Apparently some Liberals are single handedly supporting the Organic Food Market in London one particular individual spent close to 3grand on a.....wait for it.........HEMP suit from saville row ? .............i know can it get any worse.

Quids - you know from my earlier responses on this thread that I'll be glad to see the system reformed

But eye-popping outrage? Not really. Yes it's our money but every penny of their wage is our money. I know lots of people who work bloody hard as well and don't earn a fraction of a middle-paid MP. So if these expenses didn't exist at all should I demand that the MP salary be reduced to 16k? (rhetorical question btw)

The more i read about the expenses claimed by our governing classes, the more incensed and disgust i become. They now seem to think that 'coming clean' and repaying part of each MP's expenses is going to remedy the situation, it won't and has'nt....

Here i am, a lowly paid part-time worker, having to scrimp and scrap for everything i need ( i have a disability, so theres certain things i'm unable to do). Having to watch while my hard-earned N.I contributions and Income Tax get splashed on multi-milionaire's MP's moats and swimming pools, gardens, second homes and the rest.

I wish i could claim expenses for even my travel ticket, but i can't! I really do believe that what our MP's have been doing, knowing fully well that it is truly amoral, they should all be investigated for fraudulent claims. I have already written to our MP Tessa Jowell (the one who did'nt know her husband had paid off her own mortgage with dodgy money....)telling her of my utter disgust at our elected representatives and i urge you all to do so aswell, she cannot ignore her own constituents anger, although alot of them seem to be impervious and oblivious to many things....

    • Hello East Dulwich families 👋 I wanted to introduce myself to the community. I’m a professional family & wedding photographer with 14+ years of experience, and I split my time between the US and London throughout the year. I’ll be based in London for the coming weeks and would love to photograph more local families here in East Dulwich. My approach is very relaxed and natural — no stiff posing, no pressure — just real connection, movement, and the beautiful everyday moments that tell your family’s story. I work especially well with kids and parents who feel “awkward” in front of the camera (which honestly is most of us!). Sessions can take place at home, in the park, on your favourite street, or anywhere that feels meaningful to you. The goal is to create images that feel like your life — not a photoshoot. If anyone has been thinking about documenting this season with their children, I’d love to connect, answer questions, or simply share examples of my work. No pressure at all — just happy to be here and meet some neighbours. You can see my work here: https://bluesparkphotography.com/family/ (use the contact page on the site to send me a message if you're interested!).
    • I don't! But I've also taken to calling myself David, as it seems to shorten the odds of achieving something in life. It's not King Dave, Dave Lloyd George, Dave Hockney, Dave Bowie or Dave Hasselhoff is it? And I'm not sure Michelangelo would have had such success if he'd called his sculpture 'Dave'.
    • I think there is still a shoes/clothes recycling bank outside of North Dulwich station.
    • I'm not so sure the collection team are that bothered anymore.  Two houses either side of me are rented and the tenants just chuck their rubbish - mostly bagged - in the blue or green bins depending on which has space in, not based on what it is.  The blue bins are always emptied.
