I caught a film, "Definitely, Maybe" earlier this week and it was a perfect, easy-to-watch movie. Nothing mind blowing, nothing too taxing but enjoyably watchable. Went to be with a smile on my face.

Others I would put on my favourite feel-good Film list:

Coyote Ugly

Clueless

A Good Year

The Wedding Singer

Grosse Point Blank. Yeah, that's a good film, great soundtrack too.

Shawshank Redemption is a good shout too... that must be the ultimate feel-good ending!

Not sure where 'smile' comes from.. but I class that as a "Feel Good" movie Schindler doing the right thing by throwing away his ill gotten riches to save the countless lives of strangers

Midnight Run - When Charles Grodin gives Robert De Niro the money at the end, how could you not feel good?

Passport To Pimlico - The very definition of 'pluck'.

The Sound Of Music - The sound of eight year old Catholic boys falling in love with Julie Andrews. OK I own up, Catholic guilty.

Oliver! - It's the songs. It's mainly the songs performed by Nancy - 'As long as 'e needs me, I know where I shall be...', 'There's a little ditty they're singing in the city, especially when they've been on the gin and the beer...'. ETC.

It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World - Epicly ludicrous, always a hoot.

Dumbo - If for nothing else than the crows, 'I seen a needle wink its eye...but I think I'll done have seen everything when I see a elephant fly'

What's Up Doc? - Streisand and O'Neil in a well-written farce. On top of their games. I mean whadda ya want?

Duck Soup - 80 odd minutes of perfect comedy. Some of the odd minutes contain Magaret Dumont. Thanks Margaret.

In years to come, we might found out who - or which countries - has an interest in testing what happens when you post socially disruptive content online about fake events... In the meantime, thank you to our local teachers and other school workers, police community support officers and police officers. My commute happens to take me past a bunch of schools at dropoff/pickup times, and I noticed a much greater and more visible presence on streets outside/near schools than normal. Annoying as it must have been to be distracted from other important duties, I really value and appreciate them looking out for the kids. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/school-wars-trend-red-blue-london-police-latest-142328025.html https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/jan/01/birmingham-new-year-fireworks-display-centenary-square-police
