I suppose the only way to avoid the council's interference, is to poster in shop windows and other private premises. I find the various council depts seem to rarely communicate with each other very well. (Oh and it's Sheaff btw):)

The tall blonde is Veronique, one of the co-owners and the dog is her Newfoundland.:))
  5. They've just been manuring the rose garden in the park. I thought it was that until I realised I could still smell it at Elephant :-S
  6. They're hoping to be open for May 19th. There's a lot of work to get done before then, but I'm sure they'll manage it :))

I shall visit forthwith. It may be a bit premature to visit as yet. They only picked the keys up today. :))
  8. A new coffee shop is to open in the former Bont Interiors on Forest Hill Rd soon. I'm sure it will be a welcome addition to the parade. Good Luck 'Cafe 2050'!
  9. This man epitomised the spirit of The London Marathon as He smiled his way around the route. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/boosboss/012-5.jpg Well Done to ALL the participants :)
  10. I got call from Barclays on wednesday. Someone tried to withdraw ?100 from an ATM in Tripoli from my debit card. Now I've to wait 5 working days for a replacement. Very inconvienient, but at least the theiving b'stards didn't get anything!
  11. Just found out that the fine is ?50 if paid within 10 days of issue or ?75 if left longer
  12. On the Southwark Website, dropping cigarette butts is qualified as dropping litter and the stated fine is ?50. So why are the Community Wardens issuing fines of ?75? Southwark Council/ Envirocrime As it is Southwark Council issuing the fine, you may have some grounds on challenging the amount charged.

  15. Having been to probably all the restaurants in ED, we decided to try 'The Restaurant' on Evalina Rd, Nunhead last night. The menu is simple and the food great. It's a small restaurant and very welcoming. The staff are very friendly and the couple who run it are lovely. The chef came to say hello and we were treated to a complimentary single malt too. The service was a little slow, but we were in no rush so it didn't matter. If you do go, you must try the bread and butter pudding, it's amazing! :))
  16. Dog has been found and is home. Found in Boveney Rd, Forest Hill.
  17. Gotta feel sorry for the Dry Cleaners tho! They've seen a downturn in business :-S
  18. Here's a photo of the Kingfisher. Someone sent it to me a while ago (The pic, not the Kingfisher). http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/boosboss/KingfisherPeckhamRye-1.jpg
  19. Get in the back of the Taxi before telling the driver where you want to go. Once you're in they can't just drive off! BTW I've never had a problem getting a cab home :))
  20. Ken never has had and never will get my vote! Just wait till he turns his attentions to ED then tells you all 'tough' if you don't like what he's doing! Or changes his mind on yet another election promise. Will decide nearer the time who gets my vote, but not ruling out BoJo though ;-)
  21. If you were ringing the home number at any other time then I'd understand the girlfriends position, but while your son is staying there she should be more understanding. I think you need to tell your ex that that will be the case and if either of them don't like it, tough. There's no point getting into a row about it, just tell them that's the way it's going to be.
  22. Excellent!

Whereas the idea of putting the word 'please' at the beginning of a sentance should've given you the clue that it was a request and please have no doubt that I was speaking from a purely personal stand point. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to the Peckham Lake, as I'm not familiar with it. I can assure you that 'my little horse' or rather the one I have the use of, is in fact of substantial size, but I guess that's not really what you mean. If my ego intimidates you, then that's just something you'll have to deal with. Now turning to your idea of an insult. Well 'wally' really is quite strong isn't it? My own description of you also would start with a 'w' but besides it probably not making it through the boards profanity filter, it would more than likely be a incorrect or rather doubtful description too. "Lord of the parks" LOL I like that ;-)

Besides, do you really think that when a queue has formed inside the cafe, the staff will take notice of someone waiting by the door and work out where in the queue they should be? Please think things through before you come on and be so bloody patronising. As for being loons, we'll leave that description for one such as yourself as you do so well at proving yourself worthy of the title.
