Picnic benches in Goose Green Playground
boosboss replied to victor's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Well done FoGG for all the work you have done and are doing! As for those complaining about FoGG. Are you members of FoGG? Do you get involved? Have you applied for funding? Have you lobbied the council for improvements? As for the benches - There have been benches with disabled access in Peckham Rye Park for years. Most of them have a full length seat on one side and a half length on the other. -

boosboss replied to Ant's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
There used to be one at The Elms Peckham Rye, but he couldn't tell the time and crowed at any time ;-) -

When delivering your speech try not to speak to the whole room at the same time. Pick out certain people in various locations around the room and switch between them (eg 1 rightside 1 middle 1 leftside and 1 toptable). This will give the impression that you're addressing everyone, but won't feel like such a large group. Remember you need to be heard at the back of the room too. With your speech, section it up when you write it down, that way when your looking up delivering it you will find your place in it if you need to refer to it. Try it out on others beforehand, but not people attending the wedding (jokes aren't as funny second time around!). Public speaking isn't easy when you're not used to it, but it's an experience you'll enjoy

Why men don't write advice columns Dear James: I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving myhusband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in the bedroom with a neighbour lady making mad passionate love to her. I am 32, my husband is 34 and we have been married for twelve years. When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that he'd been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become incr easingly distant. I don't feel I can get through to him anymore. Can you please help? Sincerely, Lucy Brayling (Mrs) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Lucy: A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the jubilee clips holding the vacuum pipes onto the inlet manifold. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburettor float chamber. I hope this helps. James.

I guess I'd fit into the dog nutter category. As well as the usual park walks, Myself and a few of the other PRP dog walkers also go on walks together elsewhere, woodland, open countryside, beaches etc and even go on holiday together (Pembrokshire holiday). We also get together locally without the dogs and usually end up talking mainly about them. I've organised a Christmas meal for the last three years for some of the Peckham Rye dog walkers, where we've had about 40 attendees (without the dogs) at Anatolia (now closed, so we'll be looking for a new venue this year). Some of us also go on rescue forums such asThe Refuge as well as going to dog shows/events around the country Crufts/Wag n Bone etc. We also subscribe to magazines such as Dogs Today Most groups of dogwalkers are very approachable. :)

Are you allowed to drive on Rye Lane at all?
boosboss replied to trentk69's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
[pre] Drove to the end of Rye Lane, then back onto Peckham Rye and then back home [/pre] This may have been your only infringement. You cannot cross straight from Rye Lane onto Peckham Rye, but must bear left onto Copeland Rd, then turn right, right and right again onto Heaton Rd, before turning left onto Peckham Rye. Hopefuly the bus lane cameras missed you. -
There are two of them, one French, one Finnish, both very nice! :))

Fine for entering bus lane on Peckham Rye
boosboss replied to Ratpack's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Is it the short bus lane approaching the ED Rd junction, or the entry into Rye Lane that you got caught in? -
Dog Fouling in the East Dulwich area

It does not seem right that public money > should be used to subsidise dog owners who won't > clear up after their dogs at their own initiative. So dog owners don't pay into public funds then? Dog owners obtaining the bags are ones that DO clean up after their dogs, why else would they want the bags? Besides, if it encourages more people to pick up that's got to be a good thing. The council has a street cleaning team dedicated to responding to calls from the public to remove dog mess from pavements, but of course that also comes from the local public purse. Nappy sacks and poo bags are ideal for the purpose. Most carrier bags are not as many have holes in them to prevent children from suffocating themselves and as such allow faeces to ooze through, which puts many people off using them. -
What is the best route to Paddington?
boosboss replied to ClareC's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Whatever route you decide on check for engineering work, especially at weekends. This weekend the Bakerloo Line is suspended between E&C and Lambeth North. -
I popped in this morning. They won't be ready for Monday, but say it will be one day next week that they'll open. They'll be putting the finishing touches together and practising their coffe making skills over the next few days. :)) bon3yard - Although they won't need a chef there. Veronique does own a catering company, so if you want to go and have a chat with her she'll see what she can do for you. (No promises, but good luck :)-D )

It's been good every time I've been in there, which admittedly is usually midweek and midmorning, but I did venture in last weekend and got a coffee straight away, inside was almost empty. I'm glad I wasn't waiting for icecream though. I still think it's early days to judge the cafe too harshly! They'll be learning lots this year, so don't write them off because of one bad experience.:))

Just for you I've edited the pic. :)

What's wrong here? http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/boosboss/029-4-1.jpg This car was parked on the yellow zigzags outside The Harris Academy (formerly Waverley Girls) between 8.30 and 9.30 this morning. This car belongs to the Police Officer that assists the girls crossing the road from the bus in the morning and keeps order in the afternoon at the 343/484 bus stop. Well done officer! What a great example you set
