Greenways Cycle route (Peckham Rye Common) Consultation

There is no map > but it sounds like it is going to be along an edge > rather that across the middle. Can't be too > disruptive along the edge. It will be a new path on the inside of the treeline. The map is shown in a link on my second post. There are existing paths which could be upgraded with less impact on the common, but they're indirect ie, Homestall Rd - Nightwalk- Car Park - Strakers Rd(Closed to traffic section)- Barry Rd exit - West to East Diagonal - East Dulwich Rd junction. But expecting anyone to do that route is unrealistic :( -

This path will be a shared footpath/cycle path (built on the common)and is in addition to the pavement running along the roadside. It is primarily for the use of the girls travelling to and from Waverley School, but not exclusive lol -
Is it the amount of consultations or the quality that's important?

Been there a few times and must say I've not experienced any of the problems listed above! I've found the staff to be friendly and polite and the food good. The only time I was less than satisfied was when they were very busy and as such service took a bit longer than I'd have expected (me being a grumpy ole git!). Having said that though, I haven't been for a while now! :)

I guess last night was the first of many preludes to the night of hell many enjoy! I did hear that the ones in Nunhead were as a result of kids firing their fireworks at each other. :-S

Bill Gates vs. General Motors For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on. At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated,"If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon." In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics (and I just love this part): 1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash........ Twice a day. 2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car. 3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this. 4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine. 5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads. 6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation" warning light. 7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying. 8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna. 9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car. 10. You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.

While riding one day, a cowboy met an Indian riding along with a dog and sheep and began a conversation. Cowboy: "Hey, cool dog you got there. Mind if I speak to him?" Indian: "Dog no talk." Cowboy: "Hey dog, how's it going?" Dog: "Doin' alright." Indian: Look of shock. Cowboy: "Is this Indian your owner?" pointing at the Indian. Dog: "Yep" Cowboy: "How does he treat you?" Dog: "Real good. He walks me twice a day, feeds me great food, and takes me to the lake once a week to play." Indian: Look of total disbelief. Cowboy: "Mind if I talk to your horse?" Indian: "Horse no talk." Cowboy: "Hey horse, how's it going?" Horse: "Cool." Indian: Extreme look of shock. Cowboy: "Is this your owner? " pointing at Indian Horse: "Yep" Cowboy: "How's he treat you?" Horse: "Pretty good, thanks for asking. He rides me regularly, brushes me down often, and keeps me in a shed to protect me." Indian: Total look of utter amazement. Cowboy: "Mind if I talk to your sheep?" Indian: "Sheep liar."

2 Mexicans have been lost in the desert for weeks. At death's door, they see a tree in the distance. As they get nearer, they see that it's draped with rasher upon rasher of bacon: smoked bacon, crispy bacon, life-giving nearly-raw juicy bacon, all sorts of bacon. "Hey, Pepe" says the first Mexican, "ees a bacon tree! We're saved!!" So Pepe goes on ahead and runs up to the tree. As he gets to within five feet, he's gunned down in a hail of bullets. His friend drops down on the sand and calls across to the dying Pepe. "Pepe!! Pepe!! Que pasa hombre?" With his last breath Pepe calls out, "Ugh, run, amigo, run, ees not a bacon tree......ees a ham bush"

Alan Dale Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > this year the display is on Friday 2nd November > 7.30pm Why on the friday? Why can't all the displays be done on the same night, ie The 5th! or at least the nearest saturday? I hate the random use leading up to the 5th and the reports of injuries etc afterwards. I'd prefer a ban on the sale to the public and it being left to organized displays only. I'm going away on the 3rd to deepest, darkest Wales to avoid the main bulk of the festivities, maybe I'll go a day earlier now :-S
