  1. Fair play to your dad, 40 whole days, seems an awful lot man! :-$
  2. I guess at least doing it for lent means you could have a ready made support network. Fair play to you GG. Wasn't having a dig, just an opinion. This made me smile, having to give up in stages, like cutting down smoking before giving up completely! >:D<
  3. I've not fallen over, but this is only because I can hardly walk at the moment so I've not been out. Usually I would end up on my ar$e for sure!
  4. Agree, but surely then it's a personal thing, and there is no need to do it at Lent specifically, and then stuff yourself with chocolate eggs at the end in order to congratulate yourself.
  5. Been trying to find a story about this ratty, but drawing blanks... Prey tell what's all this?
  6. Not trying to do that either, but I really don't see why people give up anything for Lent if they are not religious. I can understand everybody enjoying Christmas, which these days is as much to do with a fat bloke in red as anything else, but giving stuff up for Lent just seems an empty thing without the religious beliefs behind it. Just my opinion anyway... If I was going to do it, I'd say fast food, and my spliff in the evening would make a big difference. I'd love to say drink, but just don't think I could do it (and that is an admission I'm not proud of, it's not a brag!).
  7. Perhaps... Or, He's just an arse!
  8. Hope this works out, I popped in the Cherry on Saturday, and my one concern is that even with the downstairs area reserved, it is going to take an age to get a drink!
  9. Steady on chaps, I agree an elderly person falling is definitely not a laughing matter, but I always remember a teacher dropping at school, and make no apologies for still smiling to myself about it. Our very own lovely saffa Brendan has said on another thread that he laughed at a guy in a suit taking a tumble. There is not always something wrong about laughing at others' misfortune! (old ladies are am exception though).
  10. I'm a bit half empty today as my foot is playing up and I can't walk properly. Very annoying!
  11. Can dogs read?

    Snorky

As Sean says, this thread was almost 2 years back, surprised it was dredged back up.
  13. Beatle racing?
  14. BBC are saying ?12m, so we basically gave them ?8m to borrow one of their players for 6 months. Good work Spurs, we are the mugs. I am desperate to know what really happened, there just has to have been something.
  15. Hotel Rwanda on Channel 4 tonight. Obviously not a cheerful film, but would definitely recommend it.
  16. It has all been very odd, thought he may have been a good signing, and wonder if we'll hear that something went on behind the scenes... Good luck to him, but he won't exactly be missed.
  17. Has been a nice day, although unfortunately I have done something to my foot, so wasn't able to go far. Did take my camera out though. Best thing about today is that people have been able to actually experience throwing a real snowball at someone, which will hopefully lead then to realise how bloody pointless and stupid it is to throw a virtual one on facebook!
  18. Damn it Loz that was going to be my guess.
  19. Went over to Sydenham station with my camera earlier as it dawned on me I may never see it like that again. Absolutely deserted, and tracks completely buried under snow. Was actually rather nice.
  20. Didn't you say your neighbour was some weird Irish guy TT? Have seen your neighbour Sean, and agree, she's a babe!
  21. I watched the first half, didn't understand half of what happened, but must admit I was getting in to it. Was disappointed to wake up to the result this morning, I wanted the underdogs to win, and it sounds like it was pretty close in the end.
  22. Her voice was bloody awesome, I almost wished I was American just for the anthem! Wanted to watch a bit of the game, but they have to take forever over everything!

    My 1000th post

    *Whistles a nameless tune*
  24. Bloody Everton!
  25. Not sure Liverpool and Chelsea would need to implode as such, Villa are right up there, it's not like they need the other 2 to drop many points if they can keep up the pace. Obviously I'd like to see them in 2nd behind Liverpool as champs, but I think that might be wishfull thinking ;-)
