  1. I've never been a fan of open air gigs, they're just too big. I like festivals, but prefer the smaller tents, and the whole atmosphere. First open air gig I saw was Metallica at Milton Keynes "Super Bowl" in June 93 on the "Nowhere else to roam" tour. Supported by Megadeath which was a big thing, as it was the first time lead singer Dave Mustaine had talked with Metallica since getting fired. I just remember it being a very hot day, and the massive group of us that went all got seperated and found each other again back at London Euston. It was good, but just proved to me that I'd much rather see a band in a sweaty club with a couple of thousand people rather than 80 thousand!
  2. I went to my aunt's funeral earlier this year, on'y to find that some total c**ts had done the bloody crem! Now that is low!
  3. Are a glory hunter then? ;-) Fisher are a Bermondsey club originally, imagine the footy will be of much the same quality, and you're more likely to get in to a ruck.
  4. Radio 4 is pretty much all we listen to in our house. I love The Genius game! And there was a comedy play recently about a woman trying to prove to the devil she'd been murdered rather than commiting suicide. Used to listen to things like XFM, but these days the radio only leaves Radio 4 if I want to hear football on 5 Live.
  5. Deleted because I posted the same thing twice somehow.
  6. Think it was 1991, Ozzy Osbourne up in Manchester (Brixton was sold out). It was the "Theatre of madness tour" to follow up the "No more tears" album. Of course, he was a proper rock God back then, rather than a reality TV star.
  7. Newcastle were woeful yesterday, we played well, but I was expecting a real match, and they just rolled over. I am seriously worried about this Benitez situation. I know the press make mountans out of mole hills, but he was quite outspoken after the match, and I would hate him to go. And I don't want him replaced by a certain former Chelsea boss!!!
  8. I'm with Celestial, it sounds like they're being as reasonable as they could be, and if someone asked me to (even partially) close my business during the run up to xmas I'd tell them where to go. I'm not against G&B, and don't want them to close down or anything, and it's a shame they're having this misfortune, but why should their neighbors share it?
  9. I remember that, after the Spain match, it was all party party, then after Germany it all went mental! These people are just waiting to lose so they have an excuse!

See what you mean about the home nations, I have only experienced euro '96, and the 2000 qualifiers, and don't remember any particular trouble, but I guess there are those "underground" who would relish it...
  14. I genuinely think I would prefer THIS (assuming it included England) to the Euros, there would be much more passion!
  15. Annoyingly I was never that in to footy as a kid, and totally missed the real Liverpool glory days. We do okay, but what I wouldn't give for a league title!!! Started supporting properly in my teens, by which time their last league title had come and gone.

    Fave album cover?

Er Piers, in doing mine you've actually put a different picture up (I think they released 2 versions).
  17. Bless you Mr America ;-) I'm with Anna! :)-D

Too true, it's also easier to keep goal when you have a defence ;-) Maybe you're right about Barry, I just can't remember him being in it much, and can remember some shocking "passes" from Lampard (and Gerrard bless him - thought Beckham was going to shoot him at one point).

    a joke

Well the punch line has pretty much been given away, but... A panda is sitting in a pub having a beer, when a very attractive young lady starts talking to him. Eventually she says "Listen, I have to be straight with you, I'm on the game, but if you fancy coming back to mine, I have some free time". The panda seems taken aback, but agrees, so they head back to her place. When they get there she asks if he'd like a bite to eat before "getting down to it", the panda thanks her, and they sit down to a quick meal before heading upstairs and having a jolly good old time! When the dust has settled, the panda says farewell and makes for the door, at which point the lady says "ahem, aren't you forgetting something... you owe me some money". The panda looks confused and asks what she means "I'm a prostitue" she says. "Look it up in the dictionary, Prostitute, woman who sells her body for money". The panda shrugs and head for the door. "I'm a panda he says, eats shoots and leaves".

WTF?!?!?!? His only decent touch of the ball was his penalty, every pass he made went straight to one of their players! Surely over the whole match Croutch deserved it, or even Beckham, who once again showed that he, if no one else in the team, actually cared. As for your other mentions there, Carson regained his composure well as the game went on, which I think speaks volumes for him, and I believe he will (given some time) be the man between the sticks. Bridge had an absolute shocker, which is a shame because I like him. Campbell did his best to keep a dreadful back 4 together. Richards tried, but he basically ended up running around like a headless chicken. Barry... I don't even remember hearing his name or seeing him with the ball. I would have liked to have seen him forward in Lampard's place, and had Hargreaves giving the very inexperienced back 4 some cover. For me, the worst man on the pitch was Joleon Lescott. He tried, but he is way way way out of his league at that level!

Ha, the version I know is much much more rude ;-)
  23. In that case, I'm with you. Put a brick through their window! ;-)
  24. I love Cornwall!!! How much are you asking though?
