    Quiet room...

"I'll join you for a late one DM, but they haven't even called last orders yet" *Cleans ears out* *Pours large drink to rid head of Monday feeling*
  2. Good on ya for replying Laura. At the end of the day, you won't please evryone, but who cares, you're in an area where you will undoubtedly do great business, so good luck to you. I do have to say I can't stand the name though (wouldn't go so far as to call it 'obnoxious' though, I just think it's a bit naf). I personally would rather spend my money in the pub, but if Mrs Keef has her way (which of course she will), I'll be seeing you soon.
  3. What they said.
  4. Glad you enjoyed Ganapati! I'm up for this in theory, but might miss the first one as only the Thursday is possible, and I'm not even sure on that... Keep me posted though.
  5. That's a bloody sickener if ever there was one. Brave attempt!
  6. Agree, frying pan and fire spring to mind.
  7. You guys are on very shaky ground talking about Mr Ralon, and his personal relationships, that's really unfair on a public forum.
  8. I tried making lite of it by saying "It's not like she got upset because they looked at her funny, she wouldn't have seen it if they had", but where do you get off, you're out of order! Oh and to answer your question "If Keef's mum is registered blind how can we be sure she was even in the butchers?" Only 4% of registered Blind people have no vision at all. Visually impaired people also use their other senses for clues to assist them with orientation. One example of this could be a person using their sense of smell... Butchers shops smell... You keeping up here? Edited because I calmed down slightly.

They are obvious targets of course. And you know, that I know, that you were messing. Sort of;-) To be fair Tillie, I don't actually have any stats, but I'm still pretty certain that my statement would be correct. I'd be willing to bet money that DC doesn't have the sort of playground bullying that goes on inan "average" school. Anyway, my intention was never to be posh Vs Poor, I genuinely hate all that sh!te, and I was just having fun (although I do have views on Private education, but that's for another time). All theft is obviously wrong, and no young person deserves to be a victim whatever their background. Something I find interesting these days is the amount of girl gangs you see around, and their attitude. I regularly hear girls on buses boasting about beating someone. Now I only left school 11 years ago, which isn't that long, and there were plenty of boy gangs, and there were some "bad girls" around with a reputation, but they'd usually be individuals. These days the girls seem to be right up there with the lads for big groups with no fear of anyone.
  10. F**king hell I was messing! I know quite a few people that went to DC / JAGS / Alleyns none of whom come from wealthy families. I did however also know some DC boys back when I was at school who were very very wealthy, and let you know about it! I know Gerry mentioned those schools because they're local, but the kids from these schools can be little sh!ts too, and frankly, they don't have to deal with a fraction of the bullying / mugging / general sh!t that a kid from your average south London state schol has to. There you go, no emoticon.

  12. This thread, this thread, this thread, this threadand finally this thread will all be good places to start.
  13. Nero I totally agree about the spelling thing, and of course schools should be teaching children to spell well. However, I'm not convinced it's that important at such early ages. I'm pretty sure that most other countries don't push kids so hard at such a young age.
  14. The thing is, this is the same in health and social care, it's all about ticking boxes and meeting targets, which ultimately means less time to actually provide a good service. In my job I see way way less people than I used to, but at least I'm proving to the government that I've done the work I've done. It's soul destroying, and I am desperate to escape it, having initially gotten in to it to help people and make a difference. Teachers are the same, and they're voting with their feet, and I don't blame them I wouldn't stay in a 25k job that involved 60 - 80 hours work a week! And to think I used to think teaching would be a piece of p!ss.
  15. I just can't find a butcher sexy, however pretty she might be :-S
  16. Exactly right! God on the odd occasion I actually have to write something down these days I am appalled by the state of my own writing. It's a dying art ;-)
  17. Well she obviously did ask, at which point they were obviously rude. It's not like she got upset because they looked at her funny, she wouldn't have seen it if they had :))
  18. Creativity and expression have nothing to do with education any more, it's all about the figures baby! Mrs Keef is already seriously considering jacking in teaching less than 2 years in, because she loves children, and wants to make a difference to them, but has basically been told it's all about controlling them. She feels the whole system is immoral. Bring back 70s education! Who really really cares if a 6 year old can't read, so long as they're being a child. Mrs Keef tells me she was a very late starter with reading, and she has am English degree and MA, and loves nothing more than ready huge books! ;-)
  19. I remember Alan Hansen saying the best advise he could give to a kid was when you first start kicking a ball against a wall, make sure you kick it just as many times with your weaker foot, and force yourself to be 2 footed. I agree with the praise for Terry before, but one thing about him that really annoyed me was when he was interviewed a couple of months ago, and they talked about the time he was arrested for hitting the bouncer or whatever. His response was along the lines of My dad always taught me to stick up for myself, he shoved me so I smacked him, and I'd do the same again tomorrow. Good to see you learn from your mistakes, and such a lovely role model for the kids. Tw@t! Good player though. As for the ?40 a day the woment were paid, that's an absolute disgrace! They were there 2 months trying for their country, and apparently some of them are still doing overtime to make up the wages they lost in that time. Nice to see we're so greatful to our national teams! Bloody disgrace!

    Oh No CHAV?!

Chav, I totally agree with you about the "human side", but in all seriousness, I'd go back and delete a few posts on here. If things work out, you could make a bit of a name for yourself, and the last thing you want is for some sleezy c**t working for some sh!tty rag making up sordid stories about you based on something they dragged up on an internet forum. Seriously, I've seen it happen to people I've known, and it ruins people.
  23. Now this is real girl power! >:D
  24. Years ago Heber was always the school you tried not to send your kids to, but these days it seems a really really nice place to be. A friend of mine was teaching there about 3 years ago, and we went to see his class do a little musical, and it was lovely. Friendly kids, and a nice atmosphere. That'[s what I thought anyway, but not a parent yet, so don't have to worry for the time being...
  25. Probably some lifestyle shite :(
