ED is becoming less diverse as a result of recent Demog. changes (Lounged)

No? -
Make Cycling easier for people who want to be Green
Keef replied to ChavWivaLawDegree's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Good call for the wider cycle paths, I used to cycle loads, and would genuinely love to again for a bit of exercise, but the state of the Roads actually scares me these days! One thing though Chav, I'm sure you're really careful, but I wince everytime I see people pulling kids in trailers behind their bikes! It makes you very long, and if someone pulled out and just missed you, they could hit the trailer, which doesn't bear thinking about. Sorry, not trying to be over dramatic, but I hate seeing those things! -
Well, if they are reading this thread, I'm going to put my story from another thread here, as I think it's important for them to hear. My mum has pretty bad eye sight (registered blind), and can find shopping hard. Now obviously in a butchers shop you can't get right up close to the produce, and have to read the little labels (I have crap eyesight too, not as bad, but still find it hard to read these little labels). Now, on more than one occasion, my mum has gone in to WR, and has left feeling very upset about the brash impatient manner in which she was treated when asking for help from the counter staff. She has said that it was one particular man. Now, to be fair, the man may well not have realised that she had sight problems, it is, ironically, a non visual disability. However, this still doesn't excuse it, if someone is asking for help, surely you should help them, and then they will buy your product, that is what you're there to achieve. Finally, my mother is not the type to get upset easily, and is used to dealing with life with limited sight, and not one to make a mountain out of a mole hill, so the fact she felt the need to tell me about this suggests that it really got to her. Having said all that, you do good meat at good prices, but please keep this in mind.

Parking Problems when shopping on the Lane?

I like this girl! >:D -
Jamma Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Go in, buy your meat, pay, say thankyou and have a good weekend and you won't get any attitude out of any of the butchers Unless you can't see too well and require a bit of help. But then I guess you should just be more considerate to the busy butchers and take a helper with you.

Basically yes, although when she went out for a slaying session, she'd tend to wear her leather jacket. Black hipsters seem popular too... God I miss that show ;-)

Sean I agre, Chelsea are not popular, and quite rightly so, was just making a joke about Jose "Being Chelsea". I've always said I hate Man U, and pity Everton (not worth hating), but I do like Man U's footy, if anything it's the manager that will make me hate a club, so I will never be a fan of their's until Sir Alex retires. Great manager, nasty bastartd! Arsenal I like, they play great stuff, and with the exception of the fact he's never seen one of his players do a thing wrong, I like Wenger. As I've said before though, I know some insufferable supporters (present company excepted of course), and that makes me want them to come unstuck.

Jose had a brilliant relationship with the press, and he was Chelsea!

"It's warehouse that's supporting small individual businesses and seems to be wanted by the majority" Again, me included, but isn't that a touch hyprcritical of us... Fair enough, a builders yard, firing range, chemical storage facility would have it's own issues, but surely if a similar scenario occurs on another street, and it's any other retail outlet thats opening, chain or not, we should all be responding in the same manner that we have here.
-
I do feel for the residents a bit here. They're basically getting no support because everyone is so excited about this new warehouse (me included I must admit). Just can't help thinking things would be different if it was something like... say... Foxtons.

Parking Problems when shopping on the Lane?

I can't drive because I have crappy eyes, and Mrs Keef has never learnt to either. I do complain lots about public transport, particularly buses, but they do get me to where I'm going so can't moan too much (just wish I had a lisence to kill anyone who wants to share the music from their mobile, or say "Oh my days, she was bare looking at you man", "I no bruv, but she's bare ugly, * Oh my days" AAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!). Ahem, sorry :-$ Aaaanyway, we don't have kids as yet, but as and when we do, I think Mrs Keef may be tempted to lean to drive. However, she is very environmentally minded, and says if she has to drive anything, it will be a smart car. It annoyed me when a friend who visits us quite a lot, stopped visiting at all when his car was off the road, even though he could have jumped on a 176 door to door in 15 minutes! * As an aside, I always remember a naughty kid in my maths class saying "Oh my days" to the teacher when he was told off, only for the teacher to roar at him "YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED BOY!!!". Classic school boy memory >:D< -
Sean that is my favourite ever Alan Partirdge quote! >:D

I had kids pelting eggs at me from a 176 bus a few months back. Thankfully 3 missed completely, and the other hit the back of my leg, but didn't break. Bloody stung though! Of course I didn't break stride so as not to lose my cred :-S

Sean, everything you say is fair enough, but as I've said before about this place, manners cost nout! Yes they do good meat at good prices, but the fact they're obviosly doing very good business doesn't mean they should feel they don't need to try! For the record, I don't think the main man is to blame here at all, I get the impression it's just one moody butcher.
