Mximay, why do you want ?1 for the paying the dealers bit, and only 50p for God? Just interested to know how you're breaking your prices down. Surely if you owe a dealer money, you're less likely to have a quid... Seriously, you obviously have personal experience, so you are more than entitled to an opinion on this, and not everyone will be forgiving or understanding of Amanda, and she'll have to deal with that if she wants to stand on a public platform. *Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yes Keef... if only the papers didn't dredge-up these boring old drug mule/prostitution/heroin addict/prison stories about candidates standing for public office. I was just pointing out that it might be an idea to not help them along by putting it all down on a blog and a pulic forum. For my part, I couldn't give a toss what you've done in the past, I know you to be a decent sort, and in casting a vote, I'd be looking for a person I believed to be "straight up", and willing to push for things they thought were right.

Cornwall has one of the most beautiful coastlines I have seen anywhere, I love it down there. However, holidaying in England is not cheap, and I can totally see why people will fly to warmer places where they will get a better hotal with a swimming pool for their money, and cheap booze!
  3. Well think yourself lucky you only caught a cold. Seems a small price to pay ;-)
  4. Going for a few draws there Anna... Of course none of us know, but would be surprised if there are no goals between Wigan and City.
  5. Just read this. Bloody hell, how could any remotely sane person from anywhere in the world think that this woman deserves to be shot for this teddy bear thing?!?
  6. Frisco, are you a Police Officer? Personally with regards to the police officer, I don't think there's any indication s/he has done anything wrong, they were "on the oppostie side of EDR handing out a parking ticket!!" which suggests they were busy, and may not have even seen / realised the severity of the situation at that point. As for the old lady who owns the dog, I don't think anyone should be reporting her for anything. One would hope that this experience has shown her that perhaps she needs to rethink the way the dog is walked / let free. Maybe she should even be giving it up, but I think she should get the benefit of the doubt for the time being. Also, putting it on this forum was not fruitless, it has made people aware of the situation, and obviously we will all be looking out for psycho little dogs when walking on the green. Oh, and what leads you to believe that I take everything on face value?

It's all good CWALD, but did they tell you where they got their story from? I suspect it started on this very forum, which is why you do need to be a bit careful. I know you should be able to say what you like, but unfortunately we live in a sleaze mad country, and anything that can be dragged up and written about will be
  8. Something I read in an Australian magazine last year "Essex girl panty dampener Shane Warne was in the news today"

There is nothing particularly worth visiting the island for, other than to see loads of penguins come up on to the beach each day. However, this does attract a massive tourist influx! I just went there for a rock festival and missed the penguins.
  10. Glad the dog bit them, shame there is no rabies in the UK.
  11. Totally agree with you Curmudgeon. I was going up Lordship Lane on a bus the other day, and it was the first time in ages I'd really paid any attention. The thing that struck me is that (for me) there are actually too many eating places, and not enough shops.
  12. I just put it down to the fact the weather is so changable.
  13. No one really celebrates St George's day either, maybe similar reasons to those highlighted in the flying the flag thread. It makes me laugh low the whole country goes mad for Guinness Day, sorry, St Patrick's Day, and I'll bet most people would be able to tell you it's on the 17th of March.
  14. Sounds like Oscar, and yeah he's the one I know.
  15. Exactly right, good for you Louisa! Why is everyone questioning Louisa over this? Have a word with yourselves!

LOL, Good point! > The staff of Blue Mountain are like a bunch of ratcatcher's dogs sucking wasps... I know a couple of these guys, they make me feel very old, but they're really nice. That said, I never go in there, so I guess they're more cheerful when they're not working for minimum wage ;-)
  17. It is, I wouldn't rush there if I was you! It's a shame as The Vale is a good size for it, and has the potential, but it's just so crap.
  18. Could say that. All I can say (because it's all anyone knows for sure) is that it's being sold, but what that will mean in he next year or so we'll have to see.
  19. Fair enough, I like it though.
  20. That bloke is, and always has been a knob, why everyone thinks he's such a genius is beyond me!
  21. Amazed this thread got as far as it did before The Lounge.
  22. Or just say somewhere close, and once your in, break the truth. They can't throw you out, or you can report them.
  23. Same owner as the Red Star which is no more, maybe they cut their losses... Dogstar still open though, but that was the original.
  24. Brendan I'll find out. Don't imagine they'll be doing too much, other than drinking through the night. I shall be in there, as I fear it'll be the last New Year in the CPT in it's current form, and definitely the last one with the current staff line up. :(
